1 EASTER 2019 VDOT will lift most lane closures for holiday travel from noon Friday, April 19 until noon Tuesday, April 23. However, motorists may encounter semi-permanent work zones or travel delays in the following locations: Botetourt County Route 11 Replacing two existing bridges on Route 11 over Tinker Creek at Route 838 (Vista Drive) and Route 1039 (Gibson Lane). Lane closures and new traffic pattern in place. Width restriction in place. Route 220 Making safety improvements between Eagle Rock and Iron Gate. Lane and shoulder closures with flaggers are possible. Width restriction of 12 feet. Speed limit reduced to 45 mph in work zone. Route 220 Replacing pipe on Route 220 north just north of Fincastle. Traffic reduced to one lane in both directions. Width restriction of 12 feet. Speed limit reduced to 35 mph in work zone. Northbound LaSalle Avenue on-ramp to I-64 east, I-64 east auxiliary lane, and east or westbound Armistead Avenue will be closed to traffic. Montgomery County I-81 Replacing northbound and southbound bridges over Route 8 at exit 114. Shoulders closed with median barriers in place from mile marker 113 to 114. Follow detour signage to the Route 143 south on-ramp to I-64 west during the closure. Northumberland County Route 201 Completing emergency repairs to damage from Tropical Storm Michael. Detour in place. Pittsylvania County Route 58 Completing emergency repairs to westbound bridge over Sandy Creek. Eastbound bridge open to one lane of traffic in each direction. Prince Edward County Route 460 Business Completing pedestrian trail project in Farmville. Intermittent lane closures possible. Pulaski County I-81 Completing bridge work over I-81 at exit 92. Richmond County Route 360 West Completing emergency pipe and slope repair. Right lane closed near the intersection of Route 697 (Indian Field Road). Roanoke County Route 220 Replacing pipe on Route 220 north near the Clearbrook area by Back Creek. Right lane northbound closed. Scott County Route 23 Replacing northbound bridge over North Fork Holston River in the Wadlow Gap area. Traffic reduced to one lane both directions, sharing the southbound bridge. Spotsylvania County I-95 Improving the exit 118 (Thornburg) interchange and replacing the I-95 overpass. All travel lanes open; concrete barriers in place along the shoulder in both directions through work zone. Stafford County I-95 Improving interchange at exit 140 (Courthouse Road). All travel lanes open; concrete barriers in place along the shoulder in both directions through work zone. Stafford County, City of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County I-95 Building three additional general purpose lanes on I-95 south from north of exit 133 in Stafford County to just south of exit 130 in Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County.
