7 Bus Stop Caloundra Rd Upgrade Wayne Brockhurst Karl Sinnamon Assured Transport Infrastructure Management Work was undertaken to remove the existing Bus Shelter and reshape the footpath for the new shelter. There was a foot path and new turf placed. Division 1 7

8 Beerwah Sportsground Car Park (Stage 2) Christopher Lloyd / Jason Friend ERSCON and TODS Pentacon Pty Ltd Sports Venues & Development / Parks and Gardens The newly constructed car park includes 41 bays + 1 disabled bay within the old gravel section as well as some minor landscaping, pathways and drainage works. 9 Ridge Court Park Swing Pad Mooloolah Valley Before After Glen Meier N/A Bespoke Playgrounds Parks and Gardens An old and very well used swing pad has successfully been replaced and updated with a new Playmatta swing pad within the playgrounds of Ridge Court Park Mooloolah Valley. Division 1 9

10 Happy Valley Playground Upgrade - Esplanade, Caloundra Dale Stumer Tennille Docherty Bespoke Playgrounds Parks & Gardens The playground design/theme has been based on the Caloundra Lighthouse and incorporates some local history through the use of art panels. Division 2 10

14 Tyler Allan Kennedy Commemorative Memorial Picnic Table - Maffat Beach Glen Meier N/A Delaney Constructions Kennedy Family The new picnic table and bench seats will commemorate the late Tyler Kennedy who tragically lost his life in Bali in The Kennedy family have kindly funded the project and supplied a special plaque to be fixed to the slab facing the ocean. 15 Kawana Aquatic Centre 25m Pool Filtration Upgrade - Bokarina New CO2 dosing enclosure Kate Broadbent Mark Shirley Alto Pacific Aquatic Facilities The upgrade to the pool filtration system is now complete. The water quality and clarity has improved vastly since the installation Division 3 15

16 Kawana Stadium lighting upgrade, Sportsmans Parade Stephen Porter Webbs, D&C Consultants BRL Electrical Sunshine Coast Stadium, Community Services The commissioning of the new led lights is complete. 12 poles & 52 fittings installed to Fields 1-2 & 5-6. The lighting levels achieved are well above required standards and are dimmed by 35% to ensure longevity and capture the associated power savings. Division 3 16

17 Currimundi Beach Viewing Platform Dale Stumer Clare Staines & Jessica Figueroa Latch & Rippingale Civil Assets The deck was a success with the locals and was heavily utilised over the Christmas/New Year period. Completed works included beach shower. Division 3 17

19 La Balsa Park Exercise Shade Sail, Buddina Mark Knight Shadescape Shadescape Parks & Gardens The shade sail installation at the La Balsa Park exercise equipment is now complete and was just in time for the Christmas break. Division 4 19

20 Kensington Park Playground renewal - Minyama Mark Knight Clare Staines SCC / Shadescape Parks and Gardens The second phase of a four phase project has now been completed. This included the provision of shade trees and the replacement of the damaged shade sail. Division 4 20

21 Palmwoods streetscape - "Piccabeen Green" Jamie Wilson Place Making, Engineering Design Services & SMEC The Landscape Construction Company TIM / Place Making The project includes new community green lawn space, boardwalk, seating, shade and outdoor dining opportunities, and has improved pedestrian links through the town, connecting the three shopping precincts on Margaret, Main and Little Main streets. This was the first of its kind to be installed in Australia, which adds a unique piece of equipment to the Maleny area. Division 5 25

28 Buderim Cemetery Shelter Renewal, Mooloolaba Road Glen Meier Justin LePage / Landmark Rippingale Builders Cemetery Services The existing dilapidated gazebo has been replaced with a new Landmark gazebo within the grounds of Buderim Cemetery. The existing non-compliant concrete slab was also replaced with a safe compliant slab. Division 6 28

29 Childhood Story Seat Project Maroochy Lions Park, Fisherman's Road Muller Park Bli Bli Kenilworth Town Park Glen Meier Clare Staines Delaney Constructions, Sunquest, UAP Community Services The book utilised on the seat within Maroochy Lions Park is Home In The Rain by Bob Graham. At Muller Park it is Grug by Ted Prior, and Bertha and Bear by Christine Sharp at Kenilworth. Division 7, 9 & 10 29

30 Buderim Village Park Stage 6 Chris Lloyd Mode Designs / Tennille Docherty Murphy Builders Building and Facilities / Parks and Gardens The Multi-Purpose Facility and landscape works for Stage 6 of the Buderim Village Park Masterplan Implementation is now complete. The facility has a small kitchenette and tables and 30 chairs in a storeroom, which can be set up on the stage area. Division 7 30

31 Maroochydore Junior Rugby League Carpark Dale Stumer Cameron Dann & Tod Consulting Carruthers Contracting Community Services This carpark is a great addition to the recently complete grandstand and change rooms. The newly constructed carpark includes 74 bays and 2 disabled bays within the old gravel section. Division 7 31

33 Bradman Av Picnic Combo & Picnic Point Esplanade Damien Large (left) / Jason Friend (right) Cameron Dann Aspect s (left) / Delaney Constructions (right) Parks and Gardens The Slab and Picnic Combo on Bradman Avenue was complete just in time for Christmas. And the picnic combo relocation at Picnic Point in Maroochydore is also complete. Division 8 33

34 Glen Retreat Park, Shade Sail - Town of Seaside Damien Large Jesse Bampton Shadescapes Parks and Gardens The shade sail over the playground at Glen Retreat Park is now complete. This ensures sun protection at vital times during the day. Division 8 34

35 Fire Hydrant Pump installation - Ridges Clubhouse, Peregian Springs Zach Ross Fireboar Fireboar Property Management Previous investigations found the existing flow and pressure at the site s hydrants to be insufficient. This project undertook installation of a cabinet mounted hydrant booster pump to bring the fire services at the site into compliance. Division 9 35

36 Meadowland Park, Playground Upgrade - Yaroomba Chris Lloyd / John Markwell Danielle Edmunds Playscape Creations Parks and Gardens The project has replaced the old rotary swing and rockers with a new birds nest swing and a climbing spinning tower. The rotanet! Division 9 36

37 Sam Bowda Park Playground Renewal, Bli Bli Stephen Porter Danielle Edmunds Urban Play Parks and Gardens The community have been eagerly awaiting the fence removal due to the recent rain periods to use this facility. Division 9 37

38 Beach Access 82 Renewal, David Low Way - Coolum Dale Stumer Jesse Bampton Aspect s Coastal & Canals This upgrade has improved the beach access for all users and includes a deck for future shower installation. Division 9 38

39 Threeways Park Seat Renewals, Nambour Jason Friend Danielle Edmunds Delaney s Parks and Gardens The two seat renewals in Threeways Park, Nambour are now complete. Division 10 39

40 Nambour Aquatic Centre 25m Pool, Coping Tile Replacement Steve Pollard N/A Metz Project Services Pty Ltd Property Management The refurbished pool is now ready for the operators to commence the new year s programs, and the works have certainly made the pool and surrounds much more inviting for the community users. Division 10 40

41 Nambour Showgrounds Ring Road Upgrade Shane Relouw Jason Lemberg Carruthers Contracting Community Services The project has predominantly increased car parking in the showgrounds by road widening and formalising parks along the Ring Road. Stormwater entering the site has now been appropriately contained and channelled through the site. Division 10 41

42 Projects In The Making Timari Street, Streetscape, Pacific Paradise - Construction is in the final stages, with works scheduled for completion April, Bulcock Street, Streetscape, Caloundra Principal has now been allocated, with an expected commencement date of Mid-April Unity Water works were scheduled as early works and are now completed, which will allow the Principal to progress. Aerodrome Rd Intersection Upgrade completion, Maroochydore - Construction is well underway with all major service relocations and drainage complete. Landscaping elements are partway completed, with a road opening date scheduled for August, Burke St Extension to Pelican Waters Boulevard, Golden Beach The bowls club carpark is now completed, with major culvert and drainage works underway on the Burke Street extension. Completion is scheduled for end of October,
