2 POLYSYM-2016 A State Level Technical Symposium Polysym-2016 for Polytechnic college students were conducted by ISTE student chapter on 7 th January 2016 in our institution. Mr. R. Manivannan, Principal In-charge / NPTC welcommed the gathering. Thiru.Mahesh Bhalakrishnan, General Manager (Operations), Skyknit Equipment Company, Coimbatore inaugurated the function and delivered Inaugural address. Around 150 students from various polytechnics of Tamilnadu participated in the Paper Presentation and Quiz competition. Polysym-2016 came to a close with Valedictory address by Dr. M.RamaKrishnan, Principal/Dr.MCET and the winners were honored. Mr. E.Rameshkumar HoS/Automobile delivered vote of thanks. (Common 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) LIBRARY WEEK CELEBRATION Library week was celebrated on the last week of February 2016 to create an awarness among NPTC students. Essay writing, Oratorical, Quiz and Hide & Seek Competition were conducted on various titles. Awards and certificates were distributed to the winners on 59 th Annual Day celebration. (Common 7,8,9)

3 Annual Day celebrations 59 th Annual Day was celebrated on 9 th, March 2016 at Nachimuthu Gounder Centenary Centre. Mr.C.K.Kumaravel, CEO & Co-Founder, Naturals Salon & Spa, Chennai was the chief guest and delivered the Annaul Day address. Er. N.Subramanian, Income Tax Officer, Erode (Alumni DEEE, 1979 Batch) was the Guest of Honour. Awards and certificates were distributed to the students of various programmes. (Common 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) SIICAA th Sakthi Inter Institutions Collegiate Athletic Association (SIICAA) Sports and Games Tournaments was organized by Nachimuthu Polytechnic College, Pollachi in the second week of February Staffs and Students from 8 group colleges participated in the tournaments. SIICAA-2016 came to a close with Valedictory address by Dr.K.Sundaramoorthy, Additional Director (Polytechnic), Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai and the winners were awarded with rolling trophies and certificates. 15 Student s Achievements in Sports and Games NPTC Boys Volleyball team won the Winners Trophy in the IPAA Coimbatore Division Volleyball tournament held at Arulmigu Palaniandavar Polytechnic College, Palani during 22-23, December 2015 and also they secured 4th Place in the IPAA state inter division tournament. 16 NPTC 4 X 100 meter relay boys team won the bronze medal in the IPAA Coimbatore Division Athletic Meet held at Nehru Stadium, Coimbatore during 2-3, February NPTC boys teams have bagged the overall runners trophy for Games by securing 95 points in the IPAA Coimbatore Division Tournaments. (DPE P05) EXTENSION SERVICES: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT THROUGH POLYTECHNICS (CDTP) One month Skill training programme on Embroidery was started at Kondegoundanpalayam Extension centre at 1 st December 2015 and totally 16 students were benefited out of it. (CDTP 1) A Two weeks Skill Training Programme on Domestic Electrical Appliances Servicing was started at Negamam Extension centre at 1 st December 2015 and totally 10 candidates were benefited out of it. One month Skill training programme on Coir-mat weaving was started at Vadakkipalayam Extension centre at 1 st, December 2015 and totally 18 students were benefited out of it. (CDTP 2) Certificate awarding function was conducted for the beneficiaries who attended various programmes through CDTP at Main centre, Negamam centre and Vadakkipalayam Extension Centre, on 3rd, December Thiru Sasikumar, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource and Development was the Chief Guest. Totally 150 trained candidates received their Certificates. (CDTP 3) An awareness programme on Solar Lantern was conducted at Main centre on 7 th, December 2015 and totally 35 Students were benefited out of it. (CDTP 4) Sewing machine repair and maintenance programme was conducted at Kondegoundanpalayam Extension centre on 9th, December 2015 and totally 27 Students were benefited out of it. Totally 500 Students were benefited out of it. (CDTP 6) Skill Development programme on Basic Computer Application was conducted at Mahalingapuram extension Centre on 16 th, December 2015 and totally 30 Students were benefited out of it. An Awareness programme on vinegar and virgin coconut oil preparation was conducted at Negamam Extension centre on 17th, December 2015 and totally 25 Students were benefited out of it. (CDTP 7) Socio Economic Survey was conducted by our CDTP Staff Members at Chinnampalayam village on 21 st, December Totally 200 Families were surveyed. One Month Skill Training Programme on ICDS Adolescent Girls was started at Pollachi South, North, Kinathukkadavu, Anamalai and Valparai on 8 th, February 2016 and totally 80 Students were benefited out of it. One day programme on Voters awareness was conducted at Main centre on 15th, December Thiru.Selvapandi, Special Thasildar Civil Supply Pollachi was the chief guest and totally 250 Students were benefited out of it. General medical camp was conducted at kallippalayam village on 16th.December Thiru.Selvaraj Member, Chinnampalayam village was the chief guest and totally 100 People were benefited out of it. (CDTP 16) Voters Awareness programme was conducted at Main Centre on 23 rd, February Tmt.Gayathri Krishnan IAS, Sub Collector, Pollachi was the chief guest and totally 300 NIA students were benefited out of it. Free Medical Camp was organized jointly with Vanavarayar Institute of Agriculture, Dr.Mahalingam College of Engineering and Technology, Extension Services Department - Sakthipura, Nachimuthu Polytechnic College, The Scheme of Community Development Through Polytechnics, Sindhiya Ortho Clinic, Pollachi and Vadakkipalayam Panchayat at Vadakkipalayam on 28th, May Dr.K.Varadharajan, MS(Ortho), Director, Pollachi, Sindhiya Ortho Clinic, Dr.N.Jayaraman, President, Kamadhenu Uzhavar Mandram and Thiru.R.Rangaraj, President, Vadakkipalayam were chief guest and totally 200 members were benefited out of it. (CDTP 24) An awareness programme on Solar Lantern, Solar Cooker Embroidery and wire bag making was conducted at Vadakkipalayam Extension Centre during 30-31, May 2016 and totally 118 Students were benefited out of it.
