Pankaj Kumar Bansal, I.A.S., MANAGING DIRECTOR CHENNAI METRO RAIL LIMITED The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and Hon'ble Union Minister of Urban Development inaugurated the passenger services on the first Underground Section in Green Line from Koyambedu to Nehru Park (7.4 KMs) of Chennai Metro Rail Project- Phase-I on The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the Hon'ble Union Minister for Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information & Broadcasting inaugurated the Underground Metro stretch from Koyambedu to Nehru Park on This inauguration marks the first underground stretch in the Green Line of the Phase I of CMRL Project to be opened for passenger services. A total of 7.4 kms of underground stretch from Koyambedu to Nehru Park has been inaugurated. The entire elevated stretch of Phase 1 from Koyambedu to St. Thomas Mount, Little Mount to Airport is already in operation. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and Hon'ble Union Minister of Urban Development flagged off the first train from Thirumangalam Metro Station on and declared open the Metro Stations from Thirumangalam to Nehru Park for Passenger Services.

Chennai Metro Rail app provides the customers of metro services with plenty of useful information that helps in using the metro services. Following are the different sections in the app and the information available in them. Route between stations selecting the starting and destination stations will display the user the fares, distance, approximate travel time, stations in between with changeover station and the route map with plotting of the route on the map. Station Info- selecting a station will give you various useful information about the station like First and last train timings, Platforms, Gates and Directions, contact numbers, tourist spots near that station, parking, feeder services etc. Nearest metro station This section will show you the nearest metro station from your current location. Green Line DEPOT Track work has been completed between Saidapet ramp to AG-DMS in Downline. In the underground section between Thirumangalam ramp and Chennai central, out of 19888m, Track work has been completed for the length of 16443m with 10 turnouts. Track work has been completed for entire depot length of 14606m with 41 turnouts.

6 06 4 Know Your Metro Station Rolling Stock Work Progress as on Nehru Park Metro Station is the 3rd metro station in the underground stretch on the Green Line of Phase I of Chennai Metro Rail Project. This station is among the newly inaugurated underground metro station in the Green Line from Chennai Central to St Thomas Mount. This station services the neighborhoods of Egmore and Purasaiwakkam. The station is located on Periyar EVR High Road also known as Poonamallee High Road which is one of the main arterial roads on Chennai connecting Maduravoyal bypass junction on the west end and Muthuswamy Bridge near Madras Medical College at Part Town in the East end. The Nehru Park Metro Station is located below the Nehru Park and has brought a new dimension to the area in the form of a Public Transit leading to major changes in the urban environment in and around the neighborhoods of Egmore and Purasaiwakkam as well. The station is situated next to several important places namely Sangam Multiplex, Kilpauk G3 Police Station, Nehru Park and Gengu Reddy Road and Sports Development Authority.
