4 Tour Locations Named after Hongik University, known as a college town near downtown Seoul the neighborhood was built on a foundation of artistic souls since the 1990s. Known for its urban arts and indie music culture, clubs & entertainments. In 2016, Hongdae was ranked one of the most unique neighborhoods in the world. Constructed in 2002 across 570,000 sqm. Attracted well-known IT companies such as LG Telecom, Pantech and LG CNS, and facilities public exhibition including the Korean Film Archive & the Korean Film Museum. Located on Digital Media City Station, Seoul Subway Line 6, AREX and Gyeongui Line. Source: Digital Media City (DMC) 2nd tallest building in Seoul, and the 6th tallest in Korea. A mixed-use integrated commercial development in Seoul. international consortium (AIG) Officially launched in 2005, and is part of Seoul Metropolitan Government's plan to IFC Seoul Source: D-cube is a winner of ULI Global Award for Excellence. D-Cube City is a Transit-Oriental-Development (TOD) mega-complex. This mixed use facility was developed by the same groups that developed Roppongi Hills in Tokyo. The area has recently undergone a major redevelopment and upgrade anchored by the development of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). Designed by Zaha Hadid and Samoo, the 85,000 sqm GFA structure was built on a site formally used as a baseball stadium. Cheonggyecheon is a 10.9 km (7.0 miles) long, modern public recreation space in downtown Seoul. economic development caused it to be covered by road and elevated freeway. A restoration project with the purpose of preserving the unique identity of the natural environment and the historic resources in the CBD of Seoul. The area is known for its galleries, restaurants, bars, cafés, as well as clothing boutiques and art design bookshops. Seen as one of the key fashionable and trendsetting destinations in Korea. The mall opened in September, Shinsaegae Starfield Hanam Source: Kenneth Rhee Pangyo Techno Valley (PTV) is an industrial complex in the city of Seongnam, located immediately south of Seoul. The complex focuses on information technology, biotech, cultural technology and fusion technology. Pangyo Techno Valley covers about 46 hectares of land (455,000m²). Source: Pangyo Techno Valley Bukchon Hanok Village Bukchon Hanok Village is a Korean traditional residential neighborhood in Seoul located between Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace and Jongmyo Royal Shrine. The traditional village is composed of lots of alleys, hanok ( Korean home ) and is preserved to show a 600-year-old urban environment. Now it is used as a traditional culture center and hanok restaurant, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the Joseon Dynasty. The main street is Insadong-gil, which is connected to a multitude of alleys that lead deeper into the district, with modern galleries and tea shops. it was once the largest market for antiques and artworks in Korea. Insadong was originally two towns whose names ended in the syllables "In" and "Sa" that were divided by a stream which ran along Insadong's current main street. 7 Optional Self-tour Itaewon is a unique place in Seoul with diverse nationalities and cultures. Itaewon internationals to enjoy a diversity of culture, shopping, and entertainment experiences. The formation of this exotic and global tourism site is closely associated with modern Korean history. In the aftermath of the Korean War, American soldiers began to stay in the Yongsan Garrison and consequently numerous businesses and housing complexes were formed. Day or night, young people crowd into the numerous restaurants, cafés, coffee shops, and night clubs in the area. Myeongdong Cathedral and the Myeongdong Nanta Theatre. Source: el_ave Myeongdong Suwon Source: Flickr, dconvertini Suwon was built as a planned city during the reign of Jeongjo ( ), the 22nd monarch of the Joseon Dynasty ( ). The urban construction was based on Silhak, a new school of philosophy at the time that emphasized science and practical learning. Due to its geographical location, Suwon is the southern gateway to Seoul. The city has a number of attractions, including the Hwaseong Fortress, an example of fortress architecture that is designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. 8 Key Details TRANSPORT You will be required to organize your own international flights arriving in Seoul by April 5, 2017 and then departing after 1:00pm from April 8, 2017 onwards. Each participant is responsible for arranging transportation to the hotel on April 5 and to the airport on April 8. Please note that the hotel is on top of a major subway directly connected to both airports. You will also be required to obtain your own visa for Korea.
