10 R1 Schedule 3 Internal Medicine blocks some ICU and lots of acute care exposure 2 blocks of General Surgery with interspersed surgical specialty call & clinics 2 blocks of OB & Gyne with maternity clinic and LDR 1 block Peds Inpatients and clinic Call is generally 1 evening / week 1 weekend / block

11 R1 Schedule 1 block psychiatry with integrated ER days Includes addictions medicine training at Martin Street Outreach Centre (excellent!)

12 R1 Schedule 3 Family Medicine blocks to integrate your learning into family practice Includes hospitalist call days Longitudinal Family Medicine days throughout all blocks for continuity

13 R1 Schedule 1 block rural family medicine/er in Princeton

14 R1 Schedule Hospital Call Mostly in house call until 11pm 1 in 4 weekends Overnight is always home call Overnight call on family medicine

15 R2 Schedule 3 blocks of electives 2 blocks of palliative care and procedural medicine Anaesthesia MSK clinic Ambulatory care clinic 1 block of high volume OB in Kelowna or Surrey May be optional depending on volume in R1

16 R2 Schedule 2 block of ER in Penticton and Oliver 1 block of Care of Underserved populations Includes prison medicine experience Addictions medicine First Nations care

17 R2 Schedule 4 months rural family medicine elective First priority to go to Oliver, which is 45 minutes away Second round priority overall

18 Our Challenges Newer site (since 2016) Evolving curriculum Current hospital lacks good resident space No call rooms so home call (but usually 5 mins away) Can t wait for expansion! Rural challenges That means relatively flexible, too! Travel to Vancouver for courses etc. Limited volume peds and OB Similar challenge in many sites, but Okanagan is especially aged
