4 SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE & EDUCATION Sunshine Coast University Hospital The new public tertiary teaching hospital will provide 450 beds initially which includes emergency medicine, intensive care facilities, specialist services, teaching & research infrastructure. Caloundra South Primary School The new 470 student and school facility has commenced will provide 1100 new students a local school facility completing in early Retail There are 6 major shopping precincts on the Sunshine Coast being Currimundi Marketplace, Kawana Shoppingworld, Stockland Caloundra, Centrepoint Shopping Centre, Mooloolaba Central, Mountain Creek Shopping Centre. Kawana Shoppingworld is set to undergo a $110 million expansion and refurbishment and the New Maroochydore City Centre will increase the retail facilities to new heights. Sunshine Coast Tertiary Education Both undergraduate & postgraduate degrees programs are available at the Sunshine Coast University as well as two TAFE campuses. Regional Infrastructure The Sunshine Coast Airport expansion project is currently underway. This $347 million undertaking will see a new runway, two runway & taxi loops, terminal expansion, as well as a new Aviation Rescue & Fire Fighting station. 5 WHY INVEST IN OCEANSIDE KAWANA? Population Growth The population growth for the Oceanside catchment will exceed both Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Queensland at a 2.8% per annum increase being 952 residents per annum over 20 years! Infrastructure Roads/Rail Kawana is well positioned with Nicklin Way providing direct access to two major Regional Activity Centres being Caloundra & Maroochydore, as well as serving as a link to other major arterial roads being Sunshine Motorway and the Bruce Highway. Upgrades have already been completed including four roundabouts in the precinct! Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital Opened in November 2013 and caters for 200 beds in its private facility. The hospital provides operating theatres, cardiac catheter laboratory, minor procedure rooms, day surgery unit, an 8 bed intensive care unit as well as a 8 chair a day oncology unit. Kawana Health Innovation Park Will consist of consulting units, biomedical research/development hub and ambulance station, including retail & commercial opportunities in the immediate vicinity. Oceanside Town Centre The new Oceanside Town Centre precinct will be developed over the next 2 years and will include a full line and secondary level supermarket, specialty retail, cafes, restaurants, community facilities and public open space.
