1 World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar E-Newsletter Doing Global Business From the Desk of Director As we look back at a year which was full of activities, learning, discussions and debates we take this opportunity to end it by showcasing equally important initiatives taken by World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar in handholding the MSMEs through a successful and sustainable journey of entrepreneurship during the last couple of months. In the competitive era of E-Commerce Cloud marks a shift in the consumption and delivery pattern of IT with the goal of simplifying the complexities of managing a business more effectively. A session organized on usage of Cloud thus set the stage right for providing an insight into reorientation of business processes with the help of cloud computing and analytics. The talks and demonstrations helped the MSMEs understand the best practices and tools to achieve greater productivity in business. The hinterlands in India consist of about 650,000 villages. These villages are inhabited by about 850 million consumers making up for about 70 per cent of population and contributing around half of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Consumption patterns in these rural areas are gradually changing to increasingly resemble the consumption patterns of urban areas. Some of India's largest consumer companies serve one-third of their consumers from rural India. Owing to a favourable changing consumption trend as well as the potential size of the market, skilling and education on development of rural marketing has grabbed a significant niche. In this context a conference on Rural Marketing was organized at the State Owned Utkal University. The issue further carries an introduction to World Trade Centre Leeuwarden with an objective to get you familiarised with their focus areas and services. 2 Activities October 2017 Cloud an effective platform for E-Commerce World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar in association with Batoi Systems Pvt. Ltd. organized a workshop on Smart Business on Cloud here on 28th October The workshop was organized with an objective to create and enhance the awareness of MSMEs on usage of Cloud as a shift in the consumption and delivery of IT with the goal of simplifying the process more effectively. The session provided an insight on how to reorient a business processes with the help of cloud computing and analytics. The talks and demonstrations thus aimed at helping the entrepreneurs to understand the best practices and tools to achieve greater productivity in their business. While facilitating the workshop Mr. Ashwini Kumar Rath, Founder Director & CEO, Batoi Systems Pvt. Ltd. through his presentation portrayed the various usages. 3 Activities November 2017 Conference on Rural Marketing World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar in association with Centre for Agri Management, Utkal University organized a Conference on Rural Marketing here on Friday, 10th November 2017 at P.G. Council Hall, Utkal University. The conference presented a platform for industry experts from FMCG sector to talk on various aspects of rural marketing in India. Addressing the august audience Mr. Piyush Agarwal, Director, Agarwal Spices & Food Processors Pvt. Ltd. gave an insight on the Branding & Promotion Strategy for Rural consumers. 5 Cultural Highlight International Sand Art Festival 2017 The International Sand Art Festival is one of the annual events organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha. It is set on the Chandrabhaga Beach in Konark, a destination which is already popular among tourists for its heritage sites like the Konark Sun Temple. The five day festival this year took place from the 1st of December to the 5th of December Padma Shri awardee Sudarshan Pattnaik is the brand ambassador, the International Sand Art Festival. The event this year saw participation of renowned sand artists from several countries including Sri Lanka, Germany, Singapore, Mexico, Ghana, Spain, France and Russia. As many as 62 sand artists from different parts of the world actively participated in the festival. Every year the festival showcases particular themes, the theme for 2017 being Save the Sea
