2 Scottish Adventure Travel Film Festival 2017 Schedule Welcome to the 2 nd Scottish Adventure Travel Film Festival. The event is partnered to the London and Australian ATFF and shares the same films however; each venue brings something different and we believe Inverewe is special for its environment, wildlife and West Coast community. The Scottish festival is based in the National Trust for Scotland s Inverewe Garden & Estate, 2000 acres of wilderness landscape and a garden oasis of international repute embedded within the Wester Ross Biosphere Reserve and Marine Biological Reserve. The festival is run as a completely different proposition to the others; mainly you are going to watch films in an adventure travel destination. Surrounded by opportunities to engage the natural world and have an adventure yourself. Inverewe is home to the Scottish Natural Heritage BIG 5 wildlife and some of the most sublime landscapes and views in the country. We do not offer additional workshops in film making but instead focus on way marking you to our local partners who run adventure travel in Wester Ross Biosphere Reserve. Be that hill walking (Torridon and An Teallach mountain ranges within twenty mile radius), rib riding into the Minch to watch dolphins, visiting Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve to see the most important vestige of Caledonian Pine Forest or canoeing on Loch Maree or the Marine Biological Reserve off our coastline. You get the picture! We endeavour to engage people in the sense of place here rather than duplicate what Austin and Lois do at the London festival. So you can get something different from each venue, with a unique twist. If you are interested in any of the activities above, please just let us know and we will waymark you. 6 Scottish Adventure Travel Film Festival 2017 Schedule The live music sessions at the 2 nd Scottish Adventure Travel Film Festival Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award Winners, Pons Aelius are an ambitious young instrumental sextet exploring the traditional and contemporary folk music of Britain and beyond. With bold arrangements and an arsenal of instruments, the band melds age-old traditions with a fresh and innovative attitude. Playing tracks from their debut album Captain Glen s Comfort, out September 8 th. GILLIAN FRAME & FINDLAY NAPIER In the prime of their work as well-educated and experienced artists with long and impressive careers in folk music the Friday night live music sessions will be a master class in traditional folk music in a modern presentation. Gillian Frame is a musician apart. Not only does she have the voice of an angel, her abilities to weave melodies and harmonies in any style of music demonstrates her flexibility and talent. Findlay Napier is one of the most highly-regarded performers and creative forces on the Scottish music scene thoroughly active and a truly energised performer with a heart-warming zing. This combination of talent and creative new song writing and performance is definitely the best way to set the festival off. &
