This edition of the Oberhasli Swiss Newsletter gives a little overview of what the OBA is all about. The does pictured on the cover each won the All American designation in the 2011 competition. Two of those animals are ADGA National/ Reserve National Champions, showing just how strong the competition is in the OBA All American Program. As many know, the OBA s presence was felt at the ADGA National Show as a sponsor of the Oberhasli Premier Exhibitor Award. Jill Whomble of Heaven s Hollow won the title this year. She sent a nice thank you note to the OBA, which is included in this issue. In addition to Premier Exhibitor, OBA wishes to congratulate Abigail Ball for winning Premier Oberhasli Youth Exhibitor! The Oberhasli Breeders of America is still a thriving club and has a lot to offer its membership. A new Board of Directors/ Officers was just installed and is comprised of an excited group of people, all with the common goal of promoting the Oberhasli and advocating for their breeders. 3 OBA ANNOUNCES BOARD ELECTION RESULTS Thanks to all members who took part in this year s election. OBA MAKES DONATION TO DONI DEVINCENT Doni Devincent, current President of the American Lamancha Club, was critically injured in a dog attack. She is in great need at this time, so the OBA generously made a monetary donation to her. OBA Seeking New All-American Program Chairman. Could This Be You? The OBA All-American program is an annual beauty contest for member-owned American and Purebred Oberhasli.

As Chairman of the All-American program, you would be responsible for collecting the funds and pictures of the animals that are entered; finding a judge to determine the results based off the

5 OBA Seeking New All-American Program Chairman. Could This Be You? The OBA All-American program is an annual beauty contest for member-owned American and Purebred Oberhasli. Eligibility is determined by show wins. The All-American designations, separated into various age groups, are decided by a series of photographs, along with the qualifying show wins. As Chairman of the All-American program, you would be responsible for collecting the funds and pictures of the animals that are entered; finding a judge to determine the results based off the pictures and show wins you collected; and finally, sending the results of the program to the OBA newsletter editor and webmaster, in addition to dairy goat periodicals. This could be a great opportunity for you as an OBA member to further your involvement in the club and play an important role in promoting the Oberhasli breed. Now with her hard work and leadership, we will be able to offer it to our OBA members. What is a V-Show and what is all the excitement?

9 Thanks to the generous offer of Andrea Green, our webmaster and director, we will be offering a new program next year called a V-Show. A V-Show is the ingenious brain child of Andrea that has taken her registry, the Miniature Dairy Goat Association (MDGA), by storm. Now with her hard work and leadership, we will be able to offer it to our OBA members. What is a V-Show and what is all the excitement? A V-Show will allow you to get exposure and recognition for your goats without leaving your home. With the cost of gas and the difficulty of traveling, this is a great opportunity to showcase your Oberhasli. We are planning a two ring show with two divisions, American/Purebred and Experimental/Grades. At this time, June 15 is being considered as a deadline and the results by July 1. Pictures will be displayed on the website and we will be encouraging the public to 9 visit the website and see if they can pick the winners. Winners will be proudly displayed after judging. Our judges will either be official judges or knowledgeable goat breeders. All that will be needed is pictures of your goats, DOB, and when they freshened along with registration information. This is not an ADGA event, therefore you will not receive any legs but you will receive special recognition by OBA. The entry fee for the two rings is an affordable $5. That is for both rings, not each! I hope you will plan to enter this fun and exciting V-Show. We will be keeping you updated in the newsletter and on our OBA-Issues list. COMING SOON IN 2013!
