3 Youth Services Summer Outdoor Discovery During the Summer Break Youth Services will be running some extra special Summer Outdoor Discovery Groups. These groups are pre-booked before the start of the Summer Programme. They involve outdoor based activities including woodland play, outdoor art, games, walks, wildlife discovery and bushcraft activities. We will support attendees to achieve their John Muir Award by discovering, exploring, conserving and sharing the environment we find locally. WEEK 1 Monday 2nd July - Friday 6th July 2018 Mon-Thurs Boden Boo, Erskine Outdoor discovery and team building 10:40-16:00 Fri Muirshiel Country Park 09:40-16:00 WEEK 2 Monday 23rdJuly - Friday 27th July 2018 Mon-Thurs Boden Boo, Erskine Outdoor discovery and team building 10:40-16:00 Fri Muirshiel Country Park 09:40-16:00 Every session will be supervised by a minimum of two staff members who have completed thorough PVG checks, Renfrewshire Child Protection training, Bush Craft skills and First Aid. Youth Services support young people to achieve accredited awards including The John Muir Award, The Saltire Award, Duke of Edinburgh s Award, Youth Achievement Award and Hi5 Award amongst others.

For over 10 years, we have run Duke of Edinburgh Award s programmes across Renfrewshire and work with many partners to help young people achieve their bronze, silver or gold awards. We also have Forest School programmes, where young people can learn team work skills in the outdoors and learn about the world around them.

Young people can come along, make new friends, try out some new activities they might never have tried before, and chill out in a safe place. As well as our clubs we run special programmes in schools and also around Family Learning, supporting families to celebrate the achievements of young people. Check out for the latest info.

All attendees of trips are required to provide us with a signed consent form in advance of taking part. Youth Services staff have undergone PVG checks and are fully trained in Child Protection procedures. We advocate a community learning approach and strive to support young people to be active members of their community.
