Photo Ballon Monté addressed to St. Helier bearing Napoléon 30c. tied by étoile 25 with Paris Rue Serpente Nov. 9 c.d.s. above and Jersey receiving mark of Dec. 4 on reverse, some imperfections. Probably flown on the Daguerre which was brought down by Prussian fire and four of its five bags of mail captured. This belief was incorrect but it is possible that the cover was cancelled in Jersey on arrival if the pencil note is otherwise correct.
