Wastewater o Lagoon depths: Large Lagoon is < 2.50 feet and Small Lagoon is 2.75 feet o Removed air blower #1 sent to Hills Electric to be repaired o Changed gear box on irrigation rig Field 3 at Baxter Farms o Changed two (2) drive shaft couplers on Field 3 o Baxter s has cut all the corn on the Prettyman Field Weekly Report doc Page 1
2 TOWN MANAGER S WEEKLY REPORT Public Works o North Race Street pavement rehabilitation completed (see photos 1 and 2) o Received new park benches for Bedford Street Park assembly in process o Generator building and sewer pump station at shop was painted o Curb in front of North King Street Playground painted yellow for No Parking Planning o Predevelopment Meetings: Stevenson Lane & Charles Way (Habitat for Humanity) o Georgetown Marketplace Preliminary plan comments received on August 31 st o Pre-rental Inspections: 30 Silverberry Street Passed o As of August month end, the Town received 20 new business licenses through MetroRev review, for a total of $2,400 o Parking Ordinance review Staff and URS took place on September 3 rd o Building Permit Summary (August 2015) Building Activity August 2015 July 2015 August 2014 Permits Issued Value of Improvements $1,538,609 1 $697,164 $853,205 Permit Revenue $8,210 $3,915 $4,640 Police o Significant Incident Reports and Press Releases distributed as prepared o Weekly and Year to Date crime statistics (selected crimes) updated (copy attached) o Our School Resource Officer attended Open House events at all five (5) Indian River schools o We have requested a Video Phone System (VPS) for the police station this will help expedite arrest processing and warrant execution (No cost to the Town) o Two (2) conditional offers and one (1) alternate offer of employment have been extended New hires will begin the Police Academy on September 14 th 1 Sussex Academy Pool Addition, $1,200,000 Weekly Report doc Page 2
3 TOWN MANAGER S WEEKLY REPORT TOWN MANAGER S UPDATE Handled tenant concern over Town Code Enforcement and compliance with Fair Housing Standards Act Researched availability of water and sewer utilities for parcel being considered for development Created a Referendum Information section on Town Website (Reports, Frequently Asked Questions, and other information) Represented the Town at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Sharp Energy Headquarters Attended Ribbon Cutting for the Sussex Academy Phase I Expansion (Gene Dvornick, Chief Hughes, Rebecca Johnson-Dennis, Chris Lecates, Bill West) Addressed parking concerns and site plan requirements relating to a tenant fit-out (Gene Dvornick, Jocelyn Godwin) Continued work on Burger King Road dedication to the Town. Title search has been completed, Extinguishment of Easement drafted, verification of property owners is underway. Responded to questions regarding signage and site requirements for UB3 zoned property (Gene Dvornick, Jocelyn Godwin) Finalized the presentation regarding the proposed referendum for capital improvements to 37 The Circle (Annex) and 39 The Circle (Town Hall) Public Hearing scheduled for September 9 th Worked with Comcate Technical Support for incorporation of our revised Code Enforcement forms: Notice of Deficiency First Notice of Violation Second Notice of Violation Outstanding Fine Notice Weekly Report doc Page 3
