2 Welcome On behalf of Windsor RFC we would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone attending our 2018 U9 s and U10 s Mini s Festival, whether they be players, coaches, supporters; and of course, all volunteers who have worked so hard to deliver what we hope will be a great event. Also a big thanks to our sponsors, Savills, for their continued support. This year we welcome clubs from Amersham & Chiltern, Beaconsfield, Ealing, Maidenhead, Rosslyn Park, Redingensians, Sutton & Epsom and Slough. Thank you for your support. The principle aim the festival is for everyone, especially the children, is to have fun, enjoy the day, make some new friends and go home wanting to play some more. I am sure everyone will support this, and respect the core values that we all coach at our respective clubs; Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. This pack contains all the information we hope you will need to have an enjoyable day. As you will understand schedules may change, so the latest information will be on our website and displayed in the control tents on the day. Finally, if you are hungry please visit our Caesar s Feast, where our U12 team will be serving a great selection of food through the morning to raise money for the 2019 mini s tour. We look forward to seeing you on December 2 nd. Directions and Parking M4 Jct 6 towards Windsor. Take 1st exit off dual carriage way then 1st left to Town Centre. Straight on over 3 sets of Traffic Lights. At roundabout take 1st exit then under railway bridge; road then bends right, right then left. Over Traffic Lights and then past Royal Oak Pub on right. Parking is available in King Edward VII Avenue as well as parking towards the end of Romney Lock Road Please Car-Share where possible, so there is space for everyone Cars are parked entirely at owners risk. Windsor Rugby Club Ltd. does not accept any liability for damage or theft. Registration Player registration commences from 9.15am. Please ensure all teams are registered by 9.45am at their respective Age Group Control Tent. This will be adjacent to the age group pitches A Player Registration form has been sent along with this pack to all competing clubs A pitch map is shown towards the end of this information pack First Matches and Match Schedule The first matches start at 10:00 and last matches should be concluded by 1.20pm We ask teams are ready to play on the assigned pitch, at the allocated time during the day. All teams have been scheduled to play 5 games and we have attempted to space these out to ensure an appropriate break between games. The fixtures schedule will be available on Windsor RFC s website and in the control tent on the day.

3 Age Grade Rugby The focus of the Festival is on participation and all the kids enjoying taking part. Every child will receive a momento of the event. There will be no trophies or overall winners. Referees We appreciate how important the Referee s role is and ask all coaches, spectators and players to respect the Referees and their decisions. Each team MUST provide a referee Referee briefings will be held at each Age Group Control Tent at 9.45am Photography Please note and be aware of RFU Photographic Policy and Local Bylaws We are happy for parents/careers to take photo s but request that these images are not distributed online or otherwise without the express consent of the parent/career Drones are not permitted to be flown in Home Park Safety Ensuring the safety of all players is a priority. There will be physios onsite during the event. In the event of any injuries please contact the age control tent who will liaise with physios and first aiders and if necessary paramedics. Catering The U12 age group who are responsible for planning the 2019 Minis Rugby Tour, Advance on Corinium, are raising money to subsidise the rugby tour, and at the minis festival will being laying on Caesar s Feast. If you re peckish over the course of the day, the age group will quite happily serve you a range of beautiful prepared food, along with a range of soft drinks and the age groups own popcorn. You ll find Caesar s Feast open from 9:30am. All proceeds will be 100% directed at the minis rugby tour, so come and find us...you won t regret it...! Food and drinks will also be available in the clubhouse

4 2018 Minis Participation Festival Rules 1. The focus of the Festival is Participation and allowing kids to enjoy playing Rugby. 2. Matches are played 6 minutes each way. Half time interval is 2 minutes. 3. Age group organisers and control points request the cooperation of team coaches and referees in starting games promptly at the published time. 4. For U9 s and U10 s club are asked to field blended sides. 5. All events will be run in accordance with the New Rules of Play and the Laws of the Game as laid down by the RFU. 6. All teams should complete a team list showing the competing players names and dates of birth. The team lists will be available for inspection by any other competing club at the control point. Age limits must be strictly observed and any team playing an over age player will be excluded from the festival. 7. In the event of a colour clash, the second named team is requested to borrow an alternative strip. 8. Under 9 squads will consist of up to 11 players, 7 players and 4 substitutes 9. Under 10 squads will consist of up to 12 players, 8 players and 4 substitutes 10. Replacement of players during a game is at the Referee s discretion. No player may join the game except with the express permission of the referee. 11. A maximum 5 minutes of injury time will be played in any one match.
