Manchester, New Hampshire, formerly a textile mill town reinventing itself lately as a hotbed of innovation, is located in the heart of New England. Manchester is also conveniently located within an hour s drive of Boston, an hour from the Atlantic Ocean and less than two hours from New Hampshire s scenic White Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee, and the many other well-known vacation destinations in Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts. The closest Amtrak station is in Exeter, NH which is 35 minutes away via taxi, Uber, or Lyft. If flying into Boston-Logan International Airport works better for you, the Boston Express Bus (bostonexpressbus.com) will get you a block from the Radisson. Tour #1: Marty Fitzhenry and Marty Visnick Home Collections/Layouts Sunday, July 8 - Time: 12:30 p.m. 5:45 p.m. Adults: $35.00, Children: $25.00 To avoid some of the headaches associated with Boston Metro traffic during a work day, the Sunday July 8 tour will be a half-day tour to the following LOTS Members homes: Marty Fitzhenry -- Marty received his first train from his parents when he turned four. Over the years he has enjoyed not only collecting, but operating his trains. Construction on the current 46' x 26' layout began in He is able to run twelve trains at once over 800' of track. A couple of the most fascinating features of the layout are Marty's spectacular catenary system and a scratch built replica of Boston's South Station, one of only 6 ever produced by Tom Kerrigan. Marty and Dotty are no strangers to LOTS. They shared the layout with us back in 1996, when LOTS was the only club to offer home layout tours! They are looking forward to spending some time sharing the layout with LOTS members again. Marty Visnick -- When you walk into the basement of Marty's home, you'll be so amazed at his collection that you'll completely forget that you are in the home where 8 February 2018

3 Marty and his wife Irene raised their two boys, David and Gary! If Marty V. doesn't have it, it's probably not worth having! Marty has something in his collection from every American toy train manufacturer and for some, EVERY variation! He collects any train that Lionel, Ives, American Flyer or Gilbert made between 1900 and The older the trains are, the better he likes and cherishes them. He doesn't enjoy just collecting the items; he also enjoys studying them, learning about the variations and finding out the history of each piece. The Seashore Trolley Museum is the oldest and largest museum of mass transit vehicles, featuring a collection of streetcars from almost every major U.S. city that had streetcar service. We'll take a narrated 3 mile ride on one of the meticulously-restored early 20th Century streetcars. Visit to the exhibit barn and restoration shop are also included. Prior to returning to the hotel, we ll take a short drive-by of the Tour #2: Isle of Shoals Harbor Cruise, Foster's Clambake, and Seashore Trolley Monday, July 9 - Time: 8:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Adults: $110.00, Children: $90.00 Join fellow LOTS Members as we travel East to Portsmouth, NH for a harbor cruise on board the M/V Thomas Laighton, a beautiful Victorian Steamship replica, for our two-hour narrated private cruise through nearly 400 years of local and American history. The M/V Thomas Laighton features a sweeping brass staircase, closed- and open-air sundecks that will allow ample time for you to capture digital memories of cruising through the Portsmouth harbor, past tugboats, tankers, submarines and freighters in the oldest active Naval yard in the US and the quaint Olde Port waterfront. Upon our return to shore, we'll re-board our motor coaches for a short trip to York, Maine to enjoy an authentic New England Clambake at Foster's Downeast Clambake and Catering. The clambake will feature Lobster, Chicken or Vegetarian Polenta with New England clam chowder, steamed clams and mussels, corn-on-the- Bush compound at Walker's Point, the summer home of our nation's 41st President, George H.W. Bush. Tour #3: Lowell National Historic Park, Streetcar Museum, and Budweiser Brewery Tour Tuesday, July 10 - Time: 8:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Adults: $85.00, Children: $60.00 Today s tour takes us to Lowell National Historical Park in Lowell, MA. During our visit, we'll visit the National Park Visitor Center for a media production titled, "Lowell: The Continuing Revolution," the Boott Cotton Mills Museum featuring one floor of exhibits and another floor of 88 looms (some will be in operation), and The Mill Girls and Immigrants Exhibit, in one of the former boardinghouses that explains the history of the "mill girl" worker. many historic landmark buildings. Before returning to the hotel, we'll stop at the Anheuser Busch Brewery for a tour, beer samples, and a visit with some of the Clydesdale horses.

4 Society's B&M restored 1911 steam Locomotive #410 and HO Layout in the combine car, all within a block or so of each other. Lunch will consist of a hearty buffet luncheon featuring a house salad, deli wraps, pasta primavera, roasted chicken, and carrot cake or chocolate torte for dessert at Cobblestones, one of Lowell's many historic landmark buildings. Before returning to the hotel, we'll stop at the Anheuser Busch Brewery for a tour, beer samples, and a visit with some of the Clydesdale horses. Tour #4: Mount Washington Cog Railway and Conway Scenic Railroad Wednesday, July 11 - Time: 7:00 a.m. 8:30 p.m. Adults: $155.00, Children: $ Today s adventure begins with a ride to the summit of the highest peak in the Northeast: Mount Washington via The Mount Washington Cog Railway. The Mount Washington Cog Railway is the second steepest mountainclimbing train in the world! Our journey begins at Marshfield Station on Mt. Washington's western slope, beginning at an elevation of approximately 2,700 feet above sea level and ending just short of the mountain's summit peak of 6,288 feet. The train ascends the mountain at 2.8 miles per hour and descends at 4.6 mph. Stunning views in every direction will be enjoyed by all. Note: Biodiesel locomotives will be used for our trip. The temperature at the top could be 30 degrees cooler, so please dress appropriately. Travel time from the hotel to the Marshfield Station is 2 hours. A light breakfast bag will be offered as you board the bus. A short distance from Marshfield Station is the Crawford Station of the Conway Scenic Railroad. We'll board the Notch Train, and travel on what was once the Maine Central Railroad s famed Mountain Division line, for which tracks were laid in the 1870s. We'll enjoy some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the East as the train travels through spectacular Crawford Notch past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas, across Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge, en-route to North Conway. Upon our arrival in North Conway, we'll re-board our motor coaches for the trip back to Manchester. Prior to arriving in Manchester, we'll stop at Hart's Turkey Farm for a turkey and ham dinner buffet sure to please everyone. Note: Transportation, breakfast bag, excursion tickets, a deli boxed lunch, and buffet dinner are all included in the price of the tour. Tour #5: Flying Yankee, Loon Mountain's J.E. Henry Steam Train and Gondola Ride, and Clark's Trading Post's White Mountain Central Railroad Thursday, July 12 - Time: 7:30 a.m. 5:30 p.m. Adults: $95.00, Children: $75.00 The first stop of today's tour is to observe the progress of the restoration of the Maine Central's Flying Yankee streamliner train. Guides from the Flying Yankee Restoration Group will share the process and progress of the restoration of the CB&Q's Pioneer Zephyr's clone. After enjoying a bit of days gone by, we'll re-board our motor coaches for a short ride to Loon Mountain Resort. Loon Mountain Resort is the home of the J.E.Henry woodfired German Henschel, a narrow gauge steam train, and 10 February 2018

5 New Hampshire's longest gondola ride. A short excursion and run-by will be offered of the steam train, and everyone will have the opportunity to ride the gondolas to the 2,733 peak as often as time permits. A lasagna buffet lunch will be served in one of the ski lodges at the base of Manufacturing Company. In 1915, Amoskeag became one of the largest textile producing companies in the world, employing over 17,000 people, including immigrants from many countries. Loon Mountain and is included in the price of the tour. The final stop during our time in Lincoln, NH is Clark's Trading Post. At Clark's we'll be treated to an excursion on the White Mountain Central Railroad, a live black bear show, and the opportunity to stroll down Main Street to see the many static displays of trains and other historical artifacts. Four lucky attendees will enjoy cab rides in the steam engine. Note: Travel time to Lincoln is 1 hour and 20 minutes. Long pants and closed-toed shoes must be worn if you want a chance to ride in the cab of the locomotive. Winners will be announced the day of the tour. Get Acquainted Party: Millyard Museum and SEE Science Center Thursday, July 12 - Time: 6:15 p.m. 9:30 p.m. Adults: $58.00, Children: $38.00 The LOTS 2018 Get Acquainted Party will take place at the Millyard Museum and SEE Science Center. Both museums are housed within Mill No. 3 in the historic Amoskeag Millyard. The Millyard Museum exhibit focuses on the story of the development of the Amoskeag SEE Science Center in Manchester's Children's Museum features the LEGO Millyard Project. The Millyard Project is the largest permanent installation of Minifigure scale in the world. The project (3 million bricks and 8,000 figures) represents a portion of Manchester's Amoskeag Millyard and downtown Manchester, the city that Amoskeag Company helped to build. A buffet barbeque dinner of boneless breast of chicken and pulled pork, accompanied by garden salad, cole slaw, hillbilly beans, corn, bread, rolls, cornbread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. A cash bar will also be available. Note: Cash is the only form of payment accepted at the cash bar. Since the museum is short 3 block walk, transportation will not be provided. A carpool sign-up will be available for those unable to walk the three blocks. Tour #6: Annual Layout Tour Friday, July 13 - Time: 8:30 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Adults: $45.00, Children: $25.00 The highly-anticipated LOTS Annual Layout Tour will feature the following layouts: Bill Truehart -- Bill welcomes LOTS members to his home to see the three divisions of his Granite State Railroad. The "G" Division features 350' of track that traverses the woods and flower gardens behind his home. The mainline follows the natural contour of the land and crosses the creek four times. Flowers, various structures and bridges make the layout come to life. The "HO" Division of the Granite State Railroad is approximately 375' of mainline and industrial track and is made up of a combination of a permanent layout 11 February 2018

Boston Metro Hi-Railers -- Founded in 1996, the Boston Metro Hi-Railers, a local train club of approximately 40 members, is the only 3-rail O-Gauge club with a large permanent layout in Massachusetts. The 40 x 60 layout is fully wired with TMCC, Legacy and DCS systems. It is an ideal platform for demonstrating the latest products technology and features mountains, tunnels, a coal mine, the City of Scranton, PA, and the beginnings of other interesting features. A little over six years ago the group had to move the layout to its current location. It not quite finished but that doesn't really matter since, after all, it is not the destination, but the journey! Club members are looking forward to showing LOTS members how they play with trains in Massachusetts. Charles Ro Supply -- Not only does Charles Ro Supply have 30,000 square feet of model train inventory and a 5,000 square foot showroom store area, they also have a 16' x 32' operating layout. The layout features LOTS of action on three levels, with six tracks running G- and O- gauge trains. The layout is fully sceniced with features such as a waterfront, small town, old time depot, and mountain pass. See the layout, shop the store, go on a behind-the-scenes warehouse tour and save 10% on everything you purchase the day of the tour! Offer not valid unless you sign up for the tour. George Sellios -- George's Franklin and South Manchester Railroad is a 23' x 43' stylized HO model railroad, set in 1935 in a fictional area of New England during the Great Depression. George has been active in the hobby since he was 13. He enjoys a whimsical approach to model trains, which should put smiles on the faces of all LOTS members. During our visit, look for the cluttered scenery, colorful billboards and signs, weedy sidewalks, artistic license, and heavy weathering. Don Stubbs -- Don is the owner of North East Trains, a hobby shop across the street from George Sellios. The hobby shop is 80% trains. Lunch will be on your own from a variety of local eateries during one of the stops. LOTS Annual Business Meeting and Future Convention Site Preview The annual LOTS Membership Meeting will be held on Friday, July 13 at 8:00 p.m. Your officers will report on the club s activities during the past year and receive your input on various topics. A presentation about the LOTS 40 th Annual Convention will be given as well. Door prizes will be awarded. No fees or tickets are needed. Free to ALL LOTS members. Location: Four Rivers Ballroom Rick Hills and Trains on Tracks Open House Saturday, July 14 - Time: 1:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. Adults/Children: Free Rick Hills invites LOTS Members to his home to see his layout in Amherst, NH. On the way is the Trains on Tracks hobby store. Maps will be available in the Registration Room. Manchester, NH Model Train Show Saturday, July 14 - Time: 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. All registered LOTS members and their guests can attend the show, located in the Grand Ballroom located on the street level of the NH Expo Center across from the Registration Room at the Radisson Hotel Manchester Downtown, free of charge beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, as long as they are wearing their 2018 Convention name badges. Remember: LOTS members get exclusive access to the show until 10:00 a.m.! Annual Banquet Saturday, July 14 - Time: 6:30 p.m. 10:00 p.m. Adults: $65.00, Children: $35.00 The banquet will be held on Saturday, July 14 in the Four Rivers Ballroom at the Radisson Hotel Manchester Downtown. A cash bar will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be a New Englander Buffet, featuring warm rolls, Boston Bibb salad, chopped salad, roasted vegetables, herb-roasted potatoes, cranberry-stuffed turkey, lemon-broiled haddock, pot roast, Boston cream pie, and bread pudding bites, along with coffee and tea. During dinner, a slide show will recap highlights of the week s events. As with all past LOTS Banquets, door prizes, table favors, and unparalleled camaraderie are also included. 9 Manchester, NH Model Train Show July 14, 2018: 9 a.m. 4 p.m. Radisson Hotel Manchester Downtown - Expo Center 700 Elm Street, Manchester, NH The LOTS Annual Train Show will be held in the Expo Center of the Radisson Hotel Manchester Downtown on Saturday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendor tables are available for $25 each. Register Early!! Tables will be assigned in the order they are received, starting closest to the entrance. If you want your table next to another Member, please list their name as a special request below. Electrical hook-ups are available for a $75 fee. No flashing lights, sirens, blowing horns, etc. are allowed. All train items must be clearly marked and priced. Unloading and set-up will be on Friday, July 13, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, July 14, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. No trading will be allowed during set-up times. Violators will be asked to leave and will not be allowed to sell at the meet. Show Times: Saturday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Registered LOTS Members will have exclusive access from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.) Several modular train groups will bring their large layouts to fill the hall with wailing whistles and clouds of smoke.
