2 Southeastern Insulation Contractors Association Behind the Scenes Tour of Bruton Heights Education Center Monday, October 13, :00pm 3:30pm SEICANS will gather in arrival hall at the Lodge where they will be greeted by their tour guide. Then SEICANS will be escorted onto an awaiting deluxe Sprinter Van for a short ride to Bruton Heights School Education Center. Bruton Heights is a thirty acre complex consisting of research and collections. After touring the library the SEICANS will proceed to the area where the preservation for 18 th century paintings and prints takes place. The group will be shown the different methods of restoration. Continuing on to the department of metals, the group will be given an in-depth interpretation and demonstration of the preservation of all metals, especially silver. Upon arrival, the group will be welcomed by a member of the Bruton Heights staff and be given an in-depth tour of the complex. Our first stop will be the John D. Rockefeller Library which houses an extensive collection of books and maps, dating back to the 18 th century. The rare book collection contains more than 10,000 volumes and more than 45,000 manuscripts. Our next stop will be the department of furniture conservation. Here, the SEICANS will be exposed to the fine pieces that are to be restored and eventually placed in the exhibition buildings of the Foundation. At the conclusion of the tour the SEICANS will be escorted onto the Sprinter for a short ride back to the Lodge.
