15 EVENTS Leitchfield is home to the Annual Twin Lakes National Fiddler Championship, which is rated in the top four fiddler contests in the Southeastern United States. Leitchfield s newly expanded Sports Complex will be hosting several local, regional, and state tournaments. Leitchfield s Annual Art in the Park attracts thousands of tourists. The Friends of Rough River Organization sponsors an annual fireworks show that attracts thousands of spectators. This fireworks show is rated second in the state, with the first being Thunder over Louisville. The Grayson County Fair attracts fair goers from several surrounding counties. The Clarkson Honeyfest sponsored by Kelley Beekeeping is Kentucky s Official State Honey Festival. There are many more events & attractions not mentioned here. 16 FESTIVALS Memorial Day Parade - Held the 4 th weekend in May to honor those who gave us freedom. Parade, food & entertainment. Bluegrass Music Festival - Held in August at the Grayson County Agriculture & Recreation Park. Clarkson Official State Honeyfest - A three-day celebration of one of nature s sweetest gifts held the last weekend in September. With rides for the whole family, great food, music, and 5K, the entire town of Clarkson comes out to welcome the guests of Honeyfest. Caneyville Fair & Homecoming - Held the 1 st weekend in October. Includes parade, rides, booths, pageants, contests and more. Grayson County Fair - Starting the Tuesday before Labor Day, since 1949, with carnival rides, beauty pageants, demolition derby and much more with this week long enjoyment of family fun. Nolin s Summer Splash - Held in June at the Nolin Lake State Park, featuring the Houseboat Hop, music, activities for kids and adults.

17 Festivals Continued The Dam Triathlon - The Dam Triathlon is held the 2 nd weekend in August at Rough River Lake featuring a combination of paddling, cycling and running through the lake area. Freedom & Fiddlin - The Leitchfield Freedom Festival combines with the Twin Lakes National Fiddlers competition for double the fun. Held the 3 rd Saturday in July at the Courthouse Square. Free rides, entertainment and fireworks. Art in the Park - GCA Art in the Park is a juried fine arts and fine crafts show to be held at James D. Beville Park the 2 nd Saturday in May. Featuring local and internationally acclaimed artists.

18 LEITCHFIELD AQUATIC CENTER The aquatic center features a zero depth entry into the main 217,000 gallon pool. The zero depth entry also features a large splash and play structure. The pool s depth slopes from 3 ft. 5 inches to the deepest area (over the diving well) at 11 ft. 6 inches. The center also features two- three story(one un-covered slide & one covered slide), plunging into the catch pool with a depth of 3 ft. 5 inches. One of the most popular attractions is our winding lazy river. If you have small children, there is a separate toddler pool reaching a depth of only 1 ft. Also in the tot pool there is an exploration water feature as well as a water frog slide.

20 GRAYSON COUNTY JUDICIAL CENTER The Grayson County Judicial Center is a new free standing structure consisting of approximately 39,000 s.f. of programmed area. The Judicial Center should be visible from nearly all downtown points of view including the Western Kentucky Parkway. The Judicial Center design consists of two main building floor levels and a partial lower level. The first floor consists of the District Courtroom with associated support spaces, District Judge s Chambers, Circuit Court Clerk s Offices, pre-trial, CDW and drug court offices, main building public secure entry and facility public circulation areas. The second floor consists of the Circuit Courtroom, associated support spaces, Circuit Court Judge s Chambers, Family Court/Hearing Room, Family Court Judge s Chambers, Grand Jury Suite, Special Judges/Visiting Judge s Offices, and public circulation areas. The lower level consists of the main prisoner ally port and holding areas, mechanical room, electrical service room, judicial entry and building storage.
