2 Party with the Powells Joey and I are excited about the planned upcoming cruise (end of June). This should be a refreshing, fun, relaxing cruise to the Caribbean. We cannot wait to share this unique experience with all of you. We ll spend several days seeing beautiful white sandy beaches, deep blue oceans, tropical cities and villages along the way. But just sitting on the deck watching the beautiful scenery with old and new friends will create some great memories. You will be on board with people from all walks of life, from all parts of the country, (perhaps some from out of the country), and people with the same interests as yours. We ve found a pool that the local US Master s Club uses that we can rent for our meet. Let s pick the events and run the same age brackets as the Master s program. Are you interested? A word of caution from Otter John: I swam with Coach Powell over Labor Day weekend and he s still FAST! He guided and inspired me all the way through high school when our swim team took 2 nd place in the state finals. He instilled in me a life-long desire to swim and compete from my boyhood in Michigan, to my days at University of Miami and even now continuing to compete in the US Masters program. Coach Powell says my butterfly still looks good. We have all spent many hours in the pool and put miles and miles on our bodies, but without Coach Powell s encouragement and Joey s tracking of our progress and cheering us on, we would all have missed a vital aspect of our lives.
