Welcome Dear Media Members, Welcome to the 2016 G20 eaders Summit in the city of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. In order to facilitate media coverage of the event, we have established a media center on the first floor of the Hangzhou International Expo Center, which is situated on the south bank of the Qiantang River. The Media Center has Wi-Fi access and a common media working area, a rented booth area, a press release area, a master control room (MCR), live stand-up positions, interview rooms, refreshment areas and a cafeteria. We have also launched an official website ( The teams at the Media Center are committed to delivering efficient, high quality services. 3 Notes for Media Only accredited journalists are allowed to carry out reporting and interviews at the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit. After arrival in Hangzhou, accredited journalists should pick up their basic credentials from designated venues. Please refer to the Media Credentials section for the details of designated venues and collection times. There are two types of media credentials: media registration cards (yellow) and revelant venue cards (yellow). Media registration cards are used for gaining access to both the Media Center and recommended media hotels. Venue cards allow accredited journalists to enter designated areas during certain sessions. Accredited journalists can use their own media credentials only; journalists must not lend their credentials to any other individuals. The Media Center will provide media organizations with free access to the Host Broadcaster TV and radio signal, and the official photos of major events during the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit. Accredited journalists can check the Media Center s official website or ED screens in the Media Center to familiarize themselves with the latest meeting news, service information and public notices. During the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit, we recommend that accredited journalists use the free shuttle buses between recommended media hotels and the Media Center. Accredited journalists should show their media registration cards at the shuttle bus stops, which have been set up at the recommended media hotels. We discourage accredited journalists from driving to the Media Center. Those accredited journalists who are staying at non-media hotels can go to the nearest shuttle bus stop; bus times are indicated on the website. * Note: Accredited journalists should comply at all times with the safety and security regulations and procedures that are in place during the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit. 5 Media Center The Media Center is set up as the major venue for press releases, providing HB signals and journalist work during the G20 Hangzhou Summit. It is located on the first floor of the Hangzhou International Expo Center (353 Benjing Avenue, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province). Operation Times: 8 a.m. 8 p.m., September hours, September 3 6, starting from 8 a.m., September 3 till 12 a.m., September 6 Tel: Fax: g20booking@sina.com Transportation Arrival and Departure A free shuttle bus service is provided around the clock between Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, Hangzhou East Railway Station (High-speed Railway), Hangzhou Railway Station and the recommended media hotels. Transport information is available at the Media Reception Points at the above-mentioned venues. For a detailed timetable of the shuttle buses, please refer to the website of the Media Center at ou can also take an airport shuttle bus, metro or taxi, among other means of transport, to the recommended hotels. Journalists who arrive in Hangzhou by other forms of transport are free to make their own transport arrangements. Shuttle Bus For the convenience of accredited journalists, the Media Center will provide free shuttle bus services between recommended media hotels and the Credential Pick-up Points, between recommended hotels and the Media Center, and the Media Center and the meeting venues. 7 Recommended Hotels For the convenience of accredited journalists during the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit, we recommend 10 hotels near the Media Center. Please note that guests cover the accommodation fees at their own expense. Reception centers in the recommended hotels provide consultation services for accredited journalists. Equipped with office facilities including computers, printers, duplicators and fax machines, these reception centers also offer information on Hangzhou and 24-hour refreshment areas with free beverages and desserts. The recommended hotels have high-speed wireless internet service to guarantee the smooth transmission of audio and visual information, and provide convenient access to services such as transport and currency exchange. Medical clinics will also be available at the hotels. 10 Catering During opening times, the Media Center will offer accredited journalists free buffets and refreshments * The cafeteria is located in Section Z on the floor B1 of the Media Center. * Three refreshment areas are located in Section G of the Media Center (please refer to the Media Center Floor Plan). Television and Broadcast Services and the G20 Photo Center During the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit, the Media Center will provide television and broadcast services, including HB signals, live stand-up positions and signal transmission services. The Media Center will also set up a G20 Photo Center at to allow accredited journalists to inquire about, browse and download images during the Summit. HB Signal Signal format: HD-SDI (embedded audio) 1080i/50(16:9) Interface standard: BNC (Q9) Video system standard: PA Satellite Transmission The satellite transmission service should be reserved and will be charged. Satellite channels, and other devices are configured to the service (see the Communication Service section of the Media Center s official website). The satellite transmission service will be provided by the Host Broadcaster. ive Stand-up Positions ive stand-up positions are set up at the Media Center, with lighting, IFB, basic electricity and connection with the MCR. Use of the live stand-up positions should be reserved and will be charged. Reservation is made on a first come, first served basis (see the Communication Service section of the Media Center s official website). Technical services at the live stand-up positions are provided by the Host Broadcaster. Interview Room Interview rooms should be reserved, but can be used free of charge. Interview rooms are hired out on a first come, first served basis. Each interview room is equipped with tables and chairs, power sockets and basic professional lighting. Media can also apply for customized configurations paid for at their own expense. These include audio and visual transmission channels between interview rooms and the MCR, and an HB signal between the MCR and interview rooms

11 Management and Services of Radio Communications Booking and Rental Services Accredited journalists who need to make a temporary entry/entries into China during the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit, in order to access the meeting venues, to set or use radio stations (transmitters) in designated areas should fill in the Booking Form for Radio -- G20 Summit in advance. They should also go through the relevant procedures at the Credential Pick-up Points (located in White Horse ake Jianguo Hotel for domestic media and in New Century Grand Hotel Hangzhou for overseas media) in advance. The Media Center will provide media organizations with rented booths, live stand-up positions, and office facilities and furniture, as well as television and broadcast technical services. Press conference halls and interview rooms can be used free of charge after reservation. Reservations can be made on the Media Center s official website, by or in-person at the Media Center. This service is provided on a first come, first served basis. During the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit, the Media Center will organize a series of sideline visits regarding the topics of the Summit. 14 Media Center Function Areas Media Working Area (Section A) Section A is equipped with large ED screen and TV sets, providing information such as HB signals, news releases and meeting schedules. About 1500 seats, each with a high-speed Internet port, two five-hole power sockets (300W) and audio ports; 500 desktop computers, 20 high-speed printers, 5 copy machines, 20 telephones (DDD) and 5 fax machines (DDD); ive stand-up positions with fiber optics and satellite up-link ports. Press Conference Halls (Section B) There is one large press conference hall accommodating about 250 people, and equipped with lighting facilities, simultaneous interpretation services, loud speakers and audio distribution ports. There are also two medium-sized press conference halls and four small press conference halls, each with a loudspeaker system. Administrative Area (Section C) Media Rented Booths (Section D) The Media Center provides 96 booths of 8 12 square meters and 16 booths of square meters for media rental. Interview Rooms (Section F) The Media Center provides four interview rooms free of charge, namely two 48-square-meter interview 24 25

15 rooms (F1), one 69-square-meter and one 85-squaremeter interview room (F2). The interview rooms are equipped with tables, chairs, sofas, and standard G20 backdrops. Refreshment Area (Section G) Chinese and Western style snacks, tea and coffee are provided in three refreshment areas throughout the day. There are also 200 electronic lockers and bilingual telephones in these areas. Auxiliary Area (Section H) This section contains meditation room and prayer room. Information Desk (Section I) The Information Desk will be set up in the Media Center, providing relevant services. Cafeteria (Section Z) The Cafeteria, serving free buffets, is located on floor B1 of the Media Center. 26
