2 Hotel Instructions Activity Scope Meeting Objectives A good selection of hotels is available in Toulouse near the Rockwell Collins facility. The list is attached to this announcement (Attachment 1). Please notify ARINC Industry Activities of your intention to attend by registering online at: The meeting is open to all interested parties. Any material intended to be circulated prior to the meeting should be submitted before October 1, The EFB Subcommittee develops ARINC Standards that enable standardized EFB installation and connectivity on all types of aircraft. The standards are comprised of both hardware and software specifications and apply to interfaces, wiring and connectors, data protocols, and application control. The EFB Subcommittee will meet October 16-18, 2018 in Toulouse, France. The purpose of the meeting is to continue development of: ARINC Project Paper 840A: Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Application Control Interface (ACI) Standard for Tablet Devices as described in APIM A. Specifically, update the application launch, control, and information sharing capabilities for the COTS tablet environment predominantly in use by airlines today. In addition, the subcommittee will commence work described by APIMs and , recently approved at the 2018 AEEC General Session: ARINC Project Paper 8xx: will define a new Application Programming Interface (API) between crew device applications executing on an EFB (for direct use by flight, cabin, and maintenance crew) and the aircraft avionics systems. This new interface is expected to reside in the EFB device and become a bridge between EFB applications and the existing GAPS, STAP, and ADBP protocols that acquire data from the aircraft data buses. Potential for consolidation among the protocols will also be considered. The benefits will include: o Improved application interoperability and product availability from multiple suppliers (particularly important for mixed fleet operators) o Reduced development time and software maintenance overhead ARINC Project Paper 8yy: Aircraft Server, Communications, and Interface Standard will define an EFB server function. It will address the increasing need for data storage, file and application server functions, and broadband communication capabilities in AID type equipment. The benefits will include: o Modern server capabilities for legacy aircraft o Better and more consistent integration of applications o Adoption of a standardized AID/application server Reference /SMA-089 lth Page 2

3 Travel Information Travel to Rockwell Collins From the Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) to Rockwell Collins Rockwell Collins is walking distance from the airport departure area (upper level), less than 1 km or 0.5 miles. The walk is 7 minutes following the same route as the Tramway (Attachment 2). For those using the Tram, Rockwell Collins is located at Tram (T2) station Daurat, the first stop from Aéroport (Attachment 3). From Toulouse Centre to Rockwell Collins Toulouse is serviced by two Métro lines and two Tram lines, offering convenient travel around parts of the Midi-Pyrenees capital. From downtown, the Tramway (T2) starts at Palais de Justice. Exit at Tram station Daurat. The Rockwell Collins building is visible from the Tram station. A combination of Métro and Tram will also get you to Rockwell Collins. From the Métro B line (Yellow), transfer to Tram (T2) at Palais du Justice. From the Métro A line (Red), transfer to Tram (T2) at Arénes. Exit at Tram station Daurat. Due to the large workforce at Airbus, the Tram may be very busy at peak times 0800 to 0930 and 1700 to Driving to Rockwell Collins Rockwell Collins is located at 6 Avenue Didier Daurat in Blagnac.
