The nominal effective exchange rate in May appreciated by.3%, whereas the real effective exchange rate depreciated by the same percentage. Since the beginning of 215, the national currency slightly strengthened against EUR (.3%), but at the same time it substantially weakened as compared to the CHF (13.9%) and USD (9.6%). In the same period, both nominal and real effective exchange rate depreciated by 1.2% and.4%, respectively. Monetary indicators Monetary policy keeps becoming less stringent, which is reflected in a new reduction of the reference interest rate. At its meeting held on 11 June 215, the Executive Board of the NBS decided to reduce the reference interest rate by.5%, and by the next meeting set up for 9 July, it amounts to 6%. In accordance with the changes in the reference interest rate, the discount rate of the NBS decreased to 6%, while the interest rate on deposit facilities and interest rate on credit facilities decreased to 4% and 8%, respectively. The Executive Board stated that the inflation rate was below the low limit of the allowed deviation from the target rate as well as that in the second half of the year it was expected to return within the limits of the target. Along with the monetary policy measures undertaken, it will be contributed by the influence of the administered prices and price of oil derivatives which in the previous period had provisional disinflationary impact. The total citizens savings on the last day of May 215 amounted to 8,669.3 million EUR and is by 3.4 million higher in relation to the previous month. Belgrade Stock Exchange Stock exchange data show that in June all the most important indices on the global stock exchanges recorded a substantial decline, as a result of unfavourable occurrences in international environment. The aggravation of political crisis in the Middle East and increasing uncertainty of Greece and European monetary union are the main reasons for increasing risk of business operations in the international stock exchange markets in June. In accordance with the general trends in the world, the indices of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, BELEX15 and BELEXline, showed at the end of June a great decline of 8.9% and 8.3%, respectively, as compared to the previous month.
