Tickets: $ The Forks MORNING SESSION: THURSDAY 14 SEPTEMBER The Forks Market The Forks is a historic meeting place and downtown green space located at the confluence of the Red River and Assiniboine River. For most of the last century the site was an urban rail yard, but today it is Winnipeg s number one tourist destination with more than four million visitors annually. Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith Street The dramatic church was built in 1883 as a result of Winnipeg first architectural design competition. It is one of Canada s finest examples of a 19th century Gothic Revival. 9:15 am Infill Growth is Sacred and Smart!

4 A panel discussion about the economic and design opportunities of urban infill, including the challenges to development and densification of mature communities. It is located in the heart of Winnipeg s Exchange District National Historic Site. 11:00 am Planning for Climate Change; The Intersection of Urban Design, Sustainability, and Public Health Dan Leeming, Partner, The Planning Partnership Toronto Climate Change is intricately interwoven and shares many common principles for remediation with urban design, sustainability, and public heath. One affects the other and solutions for one can instigate positive change for all. The WAG is Canada's oldest civic gallery and the 6th largest in the country, housing the largest collection of Inuit Art in the world. Construction has begun on a new addition, the Inuit Art Centre. 7:00 pm 10x20x20 Petcha Kutcha - Collaboration with Winnipeg Design Festival At this Pecha Kucha event, ten speakers present 20 slides, giving 20 seconds to each slide, to bring the local design community together to share ideas, projects, and design in a fun and informative social setting.
