The YMCA of the Fox Cities is proud to offer a variety of amazing summer camp programs where every child can build confidence and make new friends in a safe and nurturing environment. Whether it s learning a new skill or game, working on a project with new-found friends or just enjoying some play time, our camps provide room to grow and help kids build resilience and confidence. Our Summer Day Camps run June through August at various locations throughout the Fox Cities. You ll appreciate our caring counselors and options that include full-day or half-day traditional summer day camps, sports, arts and education and outdoor exploration camps. Plus we offer a week-long Empower Me Camp designed just for kids on the autism spectrum and Camp Hope, a day camp for kids with special abilities. And, if your kids are looking for an overnight camp experience this summer, check out our YMCA Overnight Camp Nan A Bo Sho located in beautiful Lakewood, Wisconsin. 3 GOOD TO KNOW! CAMP PROGRAM POLICIES ONLINE REGISTRATION ALL REGISTRATION IS ONLINE, and entered on a first-come, first-served basis beginning Monday, January 8, 2018 at 6:00 AM. A $25 non-refundable registration fee is required per child*. Wait lists may be established based on enrollment per day. *If a $25 non-refundable registration fee is required per child for your camp selection, and you are registering for more than one camp, you will initially be charged the $25 registration fee per program. After the first $25 registration fee is charged, any additional registration fee(s) will be credited the first week of care for that program. Please note, your reservation is not secured until a payment plan is complete. The Y believes that no youth should be turned away due to the inability to pay. Financial assistance is available upon request. W2 state and county funding also accepted at some camps. Please call or the camp contact for additional information. SCHEDULE CHANGES Removal/switching of days will be accepted through Monday, April 9 at no charge. Contracted days after April 9 will be charged out in full unless a cancellation notification is given per policy. Adding of days will be accepted based on availability. All requests must be submitted in writing by . CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellations for the full or remainder of contracted days require a two-week written notification by . Cancellations prior to April 9 are no charge. If a cancellation is received after the deadline, a change fee may apply. The 2-week stated payment policy is still in effect, full rates apply. FIELD TRIPS Children attending a field trip are required to wear a color-coordinated (by camp they are attending) t-shirt that can be purchased online at the time of registration. SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE At the Y, we believe in providing membership and program services to all who desire to participate in the Y, regardless of ability to pay. We are asking those in need of assistance to make an appointment prior to scheduled camp. If you have a child who would like to participate, but needs assistance, please contact Member Services at your Y location. Y MEMBERSHIP HAS BENEFITS!* If you are not already a Y Member, consider buying a Youth Membership for children ages 2 days per week per site minimum schedule for only $15/month plus a $25 joiner fee. SAVE MONEY This membership will offer you the lower daily rate for a substantial savings. WITH A Y MEMBERSHIP! *To receive member rates your child must be a member 2 weeks prior to registering for camp, and remain a member throughout the entire program. How to Register Online Follow the steps below to complete your online registration. All steps must be completed to finalize registration. This program does not save incomplete information. DAY CAMP/SCHOOL AGE 1. Login to your online account using your address and password at ymcafoxcities.org. 2. Go to Program Search and choose Browse All. 3. Select Day Camp Summer from the list of categories. 4. From the list of available programs, choose the appropriate program, location and instances that the participant would like to attend. 5. When finished selecting, choose Register. 6. Complete all registration requirements and questions and choose Check Out. 7. Select from any stored billing methods or add a credit card or bank account information and select Pay Now. 8. You will be ed a receipt once payment has been receipted. SPECIALTY CAMPS 1. 5 Camp Apple Creek Camp Activities Hiking and exploration at the Bruce B. Purdy Nature Preserve, including 2.5 miles of trails, ponds, wetland, forests and prairie areas. Group games/activities, indoors and outdoors, to practice social and decision making skills. Transfer to scheduled programs at the Apple Creek YMCA. Arts and crafts. Free-play time, indoors and outdoors. Wednesday field trips to various locations (transportation included). Open swim at the Appleton YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays (transportation included). This fun-filled, action-packed 10-week long summer school age program is for children ages 5-12 (5-year-olds must have completed 5K). Participants at Camp Apple Creek learn new skills and make new friends in a safe and fun environment. The Y s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility are encouraged in all of our activities. Children spend time outdoors, practicing social and decision-making skills that are new to them, while being inspired by the Y camp counselors. Our camp is filled with a range of activities sure to engage your child and provide them with a meaningful experience. We will make basic recipes with food from the store as well as what is grown in the Apple Creek YMCA garden. Around the World August :00-3:30 PM Ages 5-9 years Explore a different part of the world each day. We will do activities involving art, music, games, books, food and fun! The Appleton YMCA maintains 10 beautiful acres 20 miles northwest of Appleton where kids can enjoy fishing, paddle boating, kayaking and canoeing on our stocked fishing pond. They also have the opportunity to try our archery range (must be 7 years old to participate in archery), sports field and playground areas along with an outdoor amphitheater for skits and plays. The YMCA Child Learning Center (CLC) is for children ages 5-12 (5-year-olds must have completed kindergarten). The CLC is located at 4630 N. Meade Street, Appleton. This camp gives these children the opportunity to experience outdoor activities in a safe setting built around special themes each day. Swimming, field trips and a carnival help round out this exciting camp. Camp Hope is supported by the YMCA of the Fox Cities Annual Campaign and United Way Fox Cities. YOUTH SPORTS CAMPS AM = 9:00-NOON PM =1:00-4:00 PM These 3-hour camps offer a variety of drills and games that will keep your child active and help them create lasting friendships and memories. Camp Contact Colin Specht at or cspecht@ymcafoxcities.org SPECIALTY SPORTS CAMP DESCRIPTIONS RACQUET SPORTS Enjoy a week filled with racquet-themed sports including tennis, racquetball, pickleball, badminton and ping-pong all in one camp! ALL-SPORTS This camp gives campers the opportunity to enjoy a new sport each day. This week is sure to be fun and exciting! NERF/DODGE/LASER Nerf gun wars, dodgeball games, and laser tag... oh my! Each day is a variety of the three as instructors set up obstacles and get creative with different games. This camp is pure joy so register early as it fills up quick. We provide the laser tag equipment and dodgeballs; you provide the nerf gun with darts. EXTREME SPORTS Get your adrenaline pumping as this camp allows children the opportunity to explore new adventures. Throughout the week, campers will get a pro bike demo at Telulah Skate Park, go high rope climbing at The Summit and go paintballing at Outdoor Adventures Paintball. We will mix in a variety of dodgeball and tag games as well. UNIQUE SPORTS Lacrosse, rugby, ultimate Frisbee, racquetball, pickleball, cricket and even fencing. Give your child an opportunity to sample so many unique and fun sports and see if they find an interest in something new. BEST SPORTS WEEK EVER The name says is all! We let the kids take control of camp by choosing which activities they would like to do throughout the week. From sports games to swimming, or dodgeball to running through the inflatable obstacle course, this camp is a whole lot of fun. PACKERS TRAINING CAMP We load up the bus and head to historic Lambeau Field. Campers will tour the stadium, play flag football at the newly added Titletown Park and watch the green and gold practice. Who knows, this camp might inspire your little one to be the next future NFL hall of famer. TIMBER RATTLER GAME Take me out to the ballgame! Campers will enjoy a full day of America s pastime. Camp begins at the Appleton YMCA where staff lead fun whiffleball and kickball games, then hop on the bus with plenty of time to spare for tailgating. Children will enjoy their packed lunches before heading in and participating in all the activities the stadium has to offer
