3 horizon day camp May Monday-Friday What better way to spend the first week of summer break than at Horizon Camp. Campers participate in a wide variety of games and activities to keep them actively engaged the whole day. Activities will include arts and crafts, sports, and other fun group games with plenty of space for us to explore at City Park and Candler Fields. Register by 5/19. Time: 8:00am-5:30pm Fee: $65R/$90NR Min/Max: 10/30 Location: Martha Hope Cabin discovery day camp May 30-July 14 Monday-Friday Pre Camp: 7:30-9:00am Camp: 9am-4pm Post Camp: 4-5:30pm Register by the Friday before each session. 7 fun-filled weekly sessions come for a week or stay for the summer! 4 KIDS ON THE GO TRAVEL CAMP May Start off the summer the right way with a fun exciting trip every day. Trips include: World of Coke, Lunar Mini Golf and Picnic, Stone Mountain, and Zoo Atlanta! Register by 5/19. Time: 8am-5pm Fee: $150R/$200NR Location: Civic Center Min/Max: 25/50 Baton CAMP June 5-9 Ages 4 and up Learn the basics of baton or develop your skills and dance from experienced featured twirlers! Post camp includes swimming at Frances Meadows and other activities. Bring baton, lunch, snacks, and drinks. Register by 6/2. Activities include hiking, rock climbing, and more. Register by 6/9. Bring your mobile devices to play with your friends on the bus as we travel to some of the top Arcades in the area. Arcades include: Stars and Strikes, Gainesville Bowling Alley, and Laser Voyage Café! Register by 6/9. Gain experience, aiding in pool operation, monitoring and assisting in swim instruction. Campers are not pool guarding during camp. Register by 7/7; 7/21. Session 1 Session pm 12-5pm Fee: $90R/$120NR Location: Frances Meadows Center Min/Max: 5/10 fit 4 fun CAMP July Ages Fitness, exercise, and healthy living! Work outs include: Zumba, Conditioning, Speed & Agility, Aerobic Kickboxing, Intro to Fitness Equipment, and Water fitness. Living healthy lessons include: nutrition, proper hydration, proper stretching, warm up/cool down, and water safety. Register by 7/14. Time: 8am-5pm Fee: $150R/$200NR Location: Civic Center Min/Max: 25/50 minecraftedu CAMP July Grades 3-8 Join us in an apocalyptic future, where earth has been ravaged by a series of natural disasters. Solve challenges such as building a city on a series of islands, escaping from a bunker on Mt. Everest, and even building a rocket to land on the moon! Register by 7/21. Time: 9 am-noon Fee:$185R/$245NR Location: Civic Center Min/Max: 10/20 Instructor: Engineering for Kids AIR AND SPACE CAMP July Learn about the Earth s atmosphere, climate, and space. Campers will visit observatories and the centers where astronomers work. Travel to places like the Observatory at the University of North Georgia, Fernbank Science Museum, and the Gainesville Airport to learn all we can in this camp of altitude. Register by 7/21. 6 BASEBALL CAMP May 30 - June 2 Grades 1-8 Get a jump on the competition. Hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and catching will be covered. Campers need to bring glove, bat, water bottle and small snack. Register by 5/26. Time: 9 am-12pm Fee: $85R/$115NR Location: City Park Min/Max:10/75 Instructor: GHS Coach Jeremy Kemp softball CAMP June 5-8 Grades 1-8 Learn the basic fundamentals of Fast Pitch Softball. Pitching, catching, hitting and base running will be highlighted. Campers provide glove, bat and water bottle. Register by 6/2. Time: 10 am-12pm Fee: $80R/$110NR Location: GHS Softball Field Min/Max: 15/NA Instructor: GHS Coach David Hawkins LACROSSE CAMP June Ages 4-15 This camp will introduce players to the basic fundamentals of Lacrosse, as well as, learn tactical strategies. Time: 10 am-12pm Fee: $65R/$90NR Location: Cabbell Field/ Frances Meadows Min/Max: 10/50 Instructor: Alan Tallman SOCCER CAMP June19-23 Rising 1st-5th Grades This camp will introduce participants to the basic fundamentals of the game of soccer such as passing, shooting, trapping, and dribbling. Campers need to bring a soccer ball, shin guards & water bottle. Register by 6/16. Time: 10 am-noon Fee: $65R/$90NR Location: Cabbell Field/ Frances Meadows Min/Max:10/40 Instructor: GHS Coach Shelly Garner CHEER CAMP July Ages 5-11 This camp is a blend of gymnastics, dance, choreography and jumps as needed for cheerleading. Fun games will be played to increase strength and flexibility. Register by 7/14. Please refer to org/camps for appropriate forms. When choosing to register online, please print, complete and return corresponding forms before first day of camp. Resident vs Non Resident Fees The cost of supplying programs and services are paid for primarily with city tax dollars. Therefore, persons residing within the city limits of Gainesville on property taxed by the city will receive a discount on programs. Fees are listed as R/NR. Financial Aid for camps Financial assistance, through our Children At Play Fund, is available for qualified applicants. Specialty and Travel Camps are excluded. Please contact our front desk staff at for information on the qualifications and the application process. Restrictions apply. Deadlines Registration ends at 5pm on deadline dates listed in this guide. Late Fees If space is available, any registration after the deadline will result in a late fee of $15. Discounts will not apply. Trip and Activity Changes Scheduled field trips and activities are subject to change. Discovery Day Camp Discounts available 1. Sibling Discount Full price paid for one child and every sibling after that will discount $7 from their camp fee. Sibling Discount is in effect until 5pm Friday. 2. Early Bird Discount Register before midnight Wednesday and receive $5 off of that session. Early bird Discount does not apply after the open of business Thursday morning. 3. Combining Discounts is allowed. 4. Discounts will not be offered to campers paying a late fee. 5) Discounts do not apply to participants receiving subsidized funding. LATE PICK UP PENALTIES Penalties incurred for late pick-up. Cancellations Camps may be canceled if minimum registration is not met. Participants will be notified of any cancellations at time of registration deadline. You may apply paid fees to another program or receive a full refund.
