1 transformers meet stem SK Cub Camp 17 The autobots need your help to defeat the decepticons! You are invited to the 31st Annual Saskatchewan Cub Camp! Come and join the fun in the gorgeous, semi-wilderness Scout camp at Anglin Lake. Nestled in the Boreal Forest right on the lake. And so far, we have no ticks! Mosquitoes have been spotted however. Programming for all Cub Scouts and 3rd year Beaver Scouts. Offer of Service (OOS) opportunities for Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Scouters. Registration is now open. THEME: Transformers meet STEM: Registration deadline: May 8th, all forms and money due. Come self contained, complete with food & cooking gear. Saturday lunch will be provided to all by the Camp and included in camp fee. This is different from previous years. Bring decorations to decorate your site to the theme and a simple activity/ game/craft for our campsite parade on Saturday night (see schedule for more details) Offer of Service youth and Offer of Service Scouters are provided meals for the entire weekend. 2 SK Cub Camp 17 - Welcome Letter We are very excited to host this event in the beautiful Anglin Lake Scout Camp. Our hosts, the Saskatchewan Service Corps Venturer Company are very excited to share their semi-wilderness paradise located on the banks of Anglin Lake in the beautiful northern boreal forest. Come for the amazing sunsets, fellowship and fun! Here are a few details to help you prepare for this adventure: Please plan to arrive between 3pm-7pm on June 2 and check in with reception. If for any reason you are delayed/late, please text: There are no vehicles allowed on site. Please come prepared to hike/haul in your gear. (max 1 km) There will be a few carts and wheelbarrows to borrow. In addition the SK Service Corps and Camp OOS will be available to assist. Cell service is available As per BP&P, you must have medical info on hand from myscouts for each registered member and a Physical Fitness Form (click link for form) for any non registered youth or adult (sibling/parent/etc.) Any guests not registered with Scouts Canada must bring an Individual Hold Harmless Form and adults must meet the current volunteer screening requirements (Scouts Canada Policy) No alcohol or recreational drugs consumed or made available at Anglin Lake - no exceptions (Scouts Canada Policy) No pets may be brought to camp (Scouts Canada Policy) Only Saturday lunch is provided by the Camp. All other meals are not provided, please come self contained. Drinking water is available from a centralized location. Please bring water jugs to haul water. Water stations near the washrooms is not potable. Grey water disposal sites are located on the sides of each washroom. Please strain food particles. We have no power and limited refrigerator space (medications only). All food must be stored in critter resistant coolers/containers and stored in designated locations. We will be placing shared food storage facilities throughout camp for your convenience. Organizing your groceries by meals is helpful. You are responsible for your own ice. There are 2 stores nearby (approx 10 min drive). We are in bear country. It is very important that after meal times all of your food and garbage is put away and cooking site cleaned up - no exceptions. Camp sites will be routinely inspected by the SK Service Corps. All toiletries (smelly stuff) should be stored the same as food. Critters have been known to explore things like toothpaste. Fire rings are provided in each site and wood is provided Picnic Tables are available All meals will need to be cooked on your camp stoves or in your fire ring. Emergency buildings are available, but no shelters are in individual campsites. Please ensure your youth bring appropriate gear including rain gear. A suggested personal pack list is provided. Although there is a lake, swimming will not be available at this event. In case of emergency, we will follow the camp s emergency action plan; this will be provided ahead of time to registered groups. Groups are responsible to bring their own gear: Tents Cooking Equipment (Pots, Pans, etc.) Spices Supplies (tinfoil, oil, paper towel etc) Wash tubs (wash, rinse, sanitize) Dish Soap & bleach Mesh bag(s) for hang drying group dishes Fire Extinguisher for cooking area Camp Stove Fuel Camp Axe Group Alarm Clock Lantern Tarps, twine & rope - for setting up shelters for cooking/eating 2 drinking water containers (eg 20L) - drinking water is hauled from central storage tank) coolers/containers for food storage Repair Kit for group equipment (duct tape, stove repair pieces, spare globe & mantels for lanterns, etc) First Aid Kit

3 SK Cub Camp 17 - Personal Pack List - Jun 2-4 CUBS: Please be sure that YOU are packing your gear! You need to know what you have brought and where it is packed. You can have an adult help you, but they should not pack for you. Items should be packed in a duffel bag or camping backpack. We will have to hike in our gear from the unload area, so keep that in mind as you are packing. Hint: if you pack all your clothes and sleeping bag into big garbage bags inside your pack, then all your gear will stay dry even if it is raining: Parents - ticks have not yet been an issue this far north. Mosquitoes, however, love the Lake too! EACH CUB MUST HAVE TO CARRY WITH THEM EACH DAY: Pack inside a small (school) backpack: Water bottle(s) (filled with water!) Rain coat/ponchotechnology Bug SprayTechnology Please wear on Friday: Wide brimmed bucket hat or baseball hat Uniform shirt and necker/woggle Sweater and/or warm jacket Running shoes/hiking boots and of course pants, undergarments, socks, etc.! IN A SEPARATE BAG (DUFFEL/BACKPACK), PLEASE PACK: T-shirts/Long sleeve shirts (2-3, but at least 1 long sleeve) Pants (1-2) Sweatshirt/hoodie (1) Undergarments (2-3) Socks (3-4) (1 pair wool if possible) Pajamas (or other modest sleeping gear) Sleeping bag Camp mat (thin foam, or therma-rest type) -no air mattresses Camp Pillow or pillow case Flashlight with batteries (MUST have) Mess kit (plastic or metal dish set in a mesh bag: plate, bowl, cup, knife, fork, spoon) - Dishes must be able to hang on a line & drip dry. Check Scout Shop or Dollar Store for mesh bags. Toothbrush, toothpaste (toiletries) - in a labeled ziploc bag (these are stored away from the campsite so it is very important that they are labelled. Plastic grocery bags (2-3 for dirty/wet gear) Rain boots (just in case) X X DO NOT BRING: Food - of any kind. All food must be brought by scouters/ group and stored correctly, NO EXCEPTIONS! If there are medical conditions, please ensure that your myscouts registration info is up to date and your scouters are aware. Dietary issues will be taken from that information Electronics - there is no ability to charge them or keep them dry. Youth will be participating in program. Scouters/ parents will be asked to help out and volunteer with various tasks during the weekend from leading/ supervising a small group to assisting at an activity. Last Name First Name Involvement

We are looking to fill the following teams: Program Team - Activity Leaders - setup, lead/co-lead activities, takedown 1st Aid Team - provide emergency response, 1st aid as necessary, must be St. John s or Red Cross certified Administration Team - dot the i s & cross the t s - collect/manage any missing paperwork/fees, etc; Some need to arrive early. Reception/Ambassador Team - greet groups as they arrive, show them to their sites, & help them find their way around camp throughout the weekend. Need to arrive early. Kitchen Team - provide all meals to OOS, prepare, cook, clean, repeat! Provide camp wide lunch to all! Everyone s favourite people! Support Team - Gophers/Runners - provide supplies & extras to the other teams. Run food, supplies to program and whatever else is needed. Need some to arrive early. 7 I understand that: Saskatchewan Cub Camp 2017 Camp Code of Conduct Scouting Youth and Scouters enjoy a special and trusted place in my community because we have a long reputation of respecting our work and helping others. As a Scouts Canada member, I am responsible for maintaining the good reputation of Scouting youth and Scouters in my community. Being a member of Scouts Canada is a privilege. All Scouters and other adult participants are bound by and must carry out their duties according to the Scouts Canada Code of Conduct While participating in summer camp, I agree to be also be bound by this Saskatchewan Cub Camp 2017 Code of Conduct. I therefore promise that: I will remember my Scouting Section s Promise and will do my best to follow my Scouting Section s Law. I will use our camp surroundings wisely and respectfully. I will do my best to leave no trace. I will respect the culture and values of our camp, the authority of those responsible for its operation, and everyone who attends camp. I will not bully, abuse, threaten or use violence against anyone. I will promote positive and healthy relationships between all people at camp. I will respect and not willfully or carelessly take or damage any part of the natural world, or the property of others. I will not control, possess or consume alcohol or illegal drugs. I will not be part of or permit any criminal behaviour or activity. Because we are responsible for our individual and group behaviour I will report any breach of this Code by me, or anyone else, to a person of authority. If I breach any part this Code I am subject to discipline and may: be required to compensate someone, and/or lose all or part of my privilege to attend camp or be a member of my Group or Scouts Canada. 8 SK Cub Camp 17 - Offer of Service Application: Please complete for individual wanting to participate as an offer of service. There is a separate camping area for offers of service both adults and youth. Scouters wishing to participate in offer of service positions, but needing to camp with their group can opt to do so. Youth are strongly encouraged to camp with the other OOS youth (Scouts, Venturers). This makes it more fun for them, and there will be activities and opportunities to socialize. Food is provided for all OOS. This is to help us run on time and to communicate and take care of last minute details with everyone in the same place a few times/day. Exceptions can be made of course. All participants can then tour around & visit other s sites and participate in their activities.
