A minimum of 2 jobs must be created Jobs must be full-time jobs working a minimum of 35 hours per week Pay in excess of the lowest average wage of any county in the state Must offer health insurance upon employment The $3,500 credit may be claimed up to five (5) years Can be applied to 100% of the business s Georgia income tax liability Excess Credit may be applied towards the withholding taxes Any lawful business (including retail, office, and lodging) may apply for credit How the Credit Works: YEAR How to Claim the Credit: Credit is claimed by Form IT-CA with Georgia Department of Revenue. Business must file Form IT-WH with the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) at least 30 days prior to the filing of the original tax return in which the credit will be filed and claimed. Form IT-CA (2009) and Form IT-WH (fill online and print) may be obtained from the Georgia Department of Revenue website. DOR has 120 days to review the job tax credit once the return is filed.
