2 Hope we can catch a break in the waves of winter weather to get our cars to the show. If you would like to get tickets at a discounted rate get in touch with one of the members in the show for tickets. Each participant can purchase up to 10 extra tickets at $20.00 per weekend pass, $10.00 for a one-day pass. These have to be purchased before 4 PM Fri., opening of the show. The members are; Dale Ballard, Dave Case, Peter Dakin, Doug McArthur, Russell Mills, Gary Rumrill, Dick White. Come on out and enjoy the show. We still have a few spots for the St. Patrick's Parade, Saturday, March 14, you must have a ticket and a button ($1.00 each), because we are limited to 20 cars, so get on the list. January 2015 BSCC General Meeting Minutes: Meeting was help on January 15 th at Roosters in Middletown. Russell called the meeting to 7:25 PM. Russell reported: - He spoke about the Coral Castle only 6 cars showed up. There is a packet for French Lick Concours quality Show event in October French Lick The theme for the 2015 event will be the French Lick 100 featuring British favorites and American classics To start planning the Bash we need to organize committees. (a) We need volunteers: - (b) 4 to 5 people for Registration. (c) 8 to 12 people to count votes. (d) Set-up Crew Friday & Saturday morning. (e) Break-down closing & clean up of cones. 3. Parking this year plan to have the parameters have been set back further. (a) Set up a trolley service from visitor parking. (b) Collect for parking. (c) Advertise and promote the British Bash. (d) Bill Hall Jaguar Club will help us with publicity. 4. A Dues and Roster committee was set up. It will have Gary Rumrill, Charles Curnick, Mike Leezer. We will sponsor the MG National Conference in MG2016 will be held from June 13th-17th, 2016 in Louisville, Kentucky at Cox Park. (a) There is a meeting at the Crown Plaza on March 19 thru the 22. (b) This show expects to attract 1600 to 2000 cars. It could be the largest ever. (c) They are looking for a logo design for this show. (d) It should include a MG logo, local Louisville items like Derby horses, slugger Bats, fluer di lis. (e) Talk about the possibility to move the 2016 Bash back to meet the National Show.

3 7. The 52 nd St. Patrick's Day Parade has many changes this year. (a) They will only allow 20 cars. (b) The new fee is $ person (c) The pins are $1.00. (d) There will be a sign up sheet for members interested. 8. 5 04. TRIVIA What do the King of Saudi Arabia, Queen Elizabeth, Neville Barrett & Denise Hager, Doug & Deborah Claypool, Roger and Dona Coates, Kenny & Tillie Machtolff have in common? The story was excerpted in The Sunday Times from a memoir by British diplomat Sir Sherard Cowper- Coles, who was appointed Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in It begins with Abdullah -- then the crown prince and de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia -- visiting Balmoral, the Queen s estate in Scotland. After lunch, the Queen had asked her royal guest whether he would like a tour of the estate, The royal Land Rovers were drawn up in front of the castle. As instructed, the Crown Prince climbed into the front seat of the front Land Rover, his interpreter in the seat behind. Little did Abdullah know, however, that his driver for the day would be none other than Queen Elizabeth herself. The picture to the left shows Princess Elizabeth after training on World War II Ambulances including mechanical service. To his surprise, the (at that time 77 years of age), Queen Elizabeth climbed into the driving seat, turned the ignition and drove off, Cowper-Coles wrote. Women are not -- yet -- allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia, and Abdullah was not used to being driven by a woman, let alone a Queen. Not to mention a queen who can drive like the wind. According to Cowper-Coles, Queen Elizabeth didn t just drive the SUV, but rapidly whizzed along the estate s roads as she chatted, prompting Abdullah to become increasingly anxious. Through his interpreter, the Crown Prince implored the Queen to slow down and concentrate on the road ahead, the diplomat said. According to The British Guardian Newspaper, Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that forbids women from driving. Human rights activists have been campaigning for years to have the ban lifted. But what do Doug & Deborah Claypool, Roger and Dona Coates, Kenny & Tillie Machtolff have in common? The all own cars built in 1952, the year Princes Elizabeth was Crowned Queen. And Neville Barrett & Denise Hager, Prince William also drives a little younger Land Rover. 05.
