We applaud the Europea Divisio, Director Tor Dahl, ad Geeral Secretary Carmelo Cutuli with three club charters plaed i Italy this year. We also approved Frace ad Madagascar ito the Civita family of atios, brigig our coutry cout to 47. I the Philippies, Asia Developmet Director Dr. Tess Yambot is also seeig club buildig success with the first YP Club charter last year, as well as the first charter of the curret fiscal year (also a YP club). She is workig o aother charter set for later this sprig ad two more i process that are to be completed before September 30th. Growth i North America remais a cocer with membership ad club buildig ot meetig the expectatios ad goals set by the leaders, both o the district ad iteratioal levels. Ultimately, it is i the hads of our voluteers our leadership to esure the future of Civita by ivitig others to joi our orgaizatio ad become active, ivolved members. Membership is at the heart of everythig we do. We caot meet local eeds without them, ad we eed more members i our commuities aroud the world. We are also lookig to employ additioal field directors. This is a great opportuity to build clubs with expeses reimbursed by Civita Iteratioal. This year s Golf Beefit will be held at the Golde Horseshoe i Coloial Williamsburg, Virgiia (Gree Course) the day before the covetio s opeig ceremoies. Aroud 11:00 a.m. o Tuesday, July 12th, a bus will trasfer golfers from the Sherato Waterside Hotel i Norfolk to the course i Virgiia approximately a 40-miute trip. The beefit will begi aroud 2:00 p.m. with participats returig to the hotel lateafteroo/early-eveig. Golfers are required to raise a miimum of $1,500 to participate ad persoally fud their o-site expeses of $150. Our fudraisig goal is to collect at least $300,000 as a result of both evets. Guests of our golfers ca travel with the golf teams o the day of the Golf Beefit to take advatage of a $21 per perso all-access pass to tour Coloial Williamsburg. They will retur to the hotel with the golfers at the coclusio of the beefit. Putt--Chip participats must have a miimum of $150. The Putt-- Chip will be held durig the covetio, with the date to be aouced as the veue ad plas are beig fialized. We applaud the Chesapeake District s Foudatio as they have oce agai voted to help by offerig a matchig fuds compoet for club ad idividual givig through the Civitas at the Helm program. Golf ad Putt--Chip cotributios are eligible for the matchig fuds ad these too are credited to the Civitas at the Helm program. You must act early to capitalize o these free dollars as they go fast. This year s matchig fuds will apply to ay club or idividual cotributio of $10 or greater ad will be available for the first $200,000 received at Civita Iteratioal. Agai this year, a $25,000 corporate match is available for ay sigle doatio to help sposor the Golf Beefit. Please cotact Civita Iteratioal if you ca help secure a sposor for this evet. It must be a sigle doatio to qualify for the match. Speakig of raisig fuds for research, we also had the privilege to atted the dedicatio ad ribbo-cuttig of the Civita Iteratioal Neuroimagig Laboratory located o the first floor of the UAB Highlads facility. What a proud momet ad tremedous testamet to our cotiuig support! I 2015, we were approached to help fud this ew locatio to house a recetly purchased MRI 3T whole-body scaer. We are cotiuig to struggle fiacially as dues icome cotiues to fall short of the budgeted projectios. With fewer members ad icome deficits i this area, the board looked hard at cuttig costs i all areas ad ca report that over the last three meetigs several policies ad procedures have bee adopted to help reduce travel ad meetig costs, alog with other associated expeses. With the recet aoucemet that three of our logtime staff members are retirig this year, two of those positios will be re-staffed by oe idividual with duties realiged to accommodate the eeds of the membership. We have ow, paistakigly, come to the realize that the eed for a dues icrease ad chage i publicatio format of the Civita Magazie is ecessary. Durig the July Covetio i Norfolk, we will be askig for a dues adjustmet to help offset the risig costs of doig busiess. We ask for your support ad approval of the $1 per moth ($3 per quarter, per member) dues icrease proposal. Additioally, your cosideratio ad support of our proposed bylaw amedmet to offer the Civita Magazie as a olie digital oly publicatio, at a cost-savigs of $65,000 yearly, is appreciated. Publicatio of the Juior Civita Magazie has already goe to electroic format to help reduce expeses. It has bee eight years sice the last dues icrease proposal was brought to the membership. Durig this past moth, reports ad trackig of the Cady & Coi Box Projects have bee a major focus. I ve attached the mothly update for your records. Ay club ame that is highlighted i gree should alert you that this club is past due i makig their remittaces for either the cady ad/or coi box projects. Regular reportig ad remittace of collectios are required. We seem to have a larger tha usual umber of clubs that have ot remitted. I kow that there are uavoidable situatios that may cause delays i reportig, but we really eed to kow if the clubs are still operatig the projects. If they are ot utilizig the boxes supplied to them, we eed to get those back for other clubs use, thus helpig to reduce project expeses. If the project has become iactive, I also eed to cacel the charge cards assiged to the idividual/s ivolved. This agai will help reduce expeses billed to Civita Iteratioal. Your help is eeded to idetify ad determie the project activity for the club s highlighted i gree. Agai, clubs should report mothly, but are allowed to remit o a quarterly basis if their projects are small. I am willig ad do work with clubs o a idividual basis. We ca all work together to help the clubs that are experiecig reportig issues. This is a great time of year to help get the club reports up-to-date ad avoid ay cofusio as the summer ad fall covetio moths approach. Agai lots of service projects for the Salvatio Army, Goodwill, supported Boy Scout campig trips,supportig childre with special abilities i the Tulsa Public Schools as well as Civita Iteratioal Research Ceter. The meetigs were held at luch i a dowtow Holiday o Tuesday ad are ow at Red Lobster o the west side of tow. Agai, the members come week after week, build strog relatioships through plaig ad doig fu service projects which ow chaged to Golf Touramet, breakfast for childre ad their family with special abilities, takig kids from Gatesway to hockey games. The Civitas biggest fud raiser is with local school cheerleaders i which they have a Waffle Breakfast ad split the fuds betwee them. They meet twice a moth at the Holiday I Maria for fu, fellowship ad a ma that has made this club last over time. Today, the club meets o the first ad third Tuesdays at the Cactus Grill of the Double Tree Hotel at Campbell Cetre. However, recetly a ew guest wated to atted oe of the meetigs, but the staff at the hotel lobby did t kow where the club meets. The guest looked aroud but could t fid the meetig room (i the back of restaurat) ad wet home disappoited. The guest was give directios ad retured at the ext meetig, but Presidet Erie Bryat proposed istallig a sig at the frot of the restaurat ad secured permissio from maagemet to hag the sig. Commoly called the -- Gree Park or Diosaur Park. Each October -- the Bartlesville Civita Club offers to the commuity a Civita Park Day with games balloo aimals soft driks ad cookies. Jue 2014 followig 4 years of plaig ad fudraisig -- a large coverig for the mai play area was added. The Jeaalee & Charles Parsos Foudatio cotributed over 80% of the moey for the shade cover. ENID CIVITAN CLUB / YES WE CAN CIVITAN CLUB The Eid Civita Club hosted the Vietam Veteras Movig Wall i Eid i The project the bega i 2011, after the movig wall looked so good i their Vetera s Park they asked the ower to sell it to them. Elaie Johs was istrumetal i covicig the ower to sell at a large price ad she said Yes We Ca. They did may fudraisers ad are oe of the largest cotributors of moetary ad i kid doatios. They hosted 6 major fudraisers which they still do today. They host a 5K Half Maratho Ru each year to raise moey to support utility bills, maiteace & upkeep of the park. This year the evet will be held May 28th. Eid Civitas provide breakfast, water statios, orgaize the race, fid sposorships ad clea up followig the evet. They put out more tha 182 crosses o the trail which bear the ames of all of Oklahoma s falle heroes. They also host a Car Show each year alog with a Cruise each Fall to raise moey for the park. It took 18 moths to fud ad fiace the project. Civitas did all the voluteer work that was available to do icludig paitig walls, ladscapig, washig walls, etc. They are hopig to break groud o the Educatioal Ceter o Memorial Day, 2016.

12 HEARTLAND EXPRESS 12 LITTLE ROCK CIVITAN CLUB LITTLE ROCK ZOO The Little Rock Civita Club s ivolvemet with the Little Rock Zoo bega i 1953, whe they bega the Kiddie Zoo project a place where yougsters could get acquaited with tame harmless aimals i close quarters. I 1955, a miiature trai was purchased ad Mo Pac Railroad istalled the track. I 1967, the club costructed a bar & doated moey for a rabbit moat. I the 1970 s, The Little Rock Civita Club built a ursery ad equipped it at a cost of $24,000.00, so that aimals bor at the Zoo could be raised ad later sold or traded. I 1993, The Civita Club doated $25,000 to Frieds of the Carousel to reovate & adopt a lead horse amed Civitas. The Little Rock Civita Club has the followig amed attractios at the Little Rock Zoo The Civita Amphitheater Two Adopted carousel horses o the Over-The-Jumps Atique Carousel - Oe lead horse Civitas ad other amed Jim for Jim Lathrop-a log time member The Civita Pavilio 10 yrs ago, the Club provided fudig for the cover. The carousel, which is the oly remaiig oe of its kid i the world, is up & ruig at the Zoo thaks to the support of the Little Rock Civita Club. The Club adopted these horses AND provided sigificat additioal fudig for the project ad for the cover for the carousel. I 1997, The Little Rock Civita Club pledged $100,000 to be used to assist i the costructio of a Amphitheater o the grouds of the Zoo. CIVITAN CLUB OF WICHITA also a architect. The Civita Commuity House, located at 901 N. Porter i Wichita, KS, is the home of the Civita Club of Wichita. The buildig was origially costructed i 1926 by the City of Wichita to house its Wichita Fire Statio No. 7. It served as a statio from 1926 to Its origial desig suited the residetial eighborhood & let itself to the remodelig for use as a commuity ceter. After the City o loger had use for the buildig, eighbors i the commuity acquired it for use as a commuity ceter. Whe they could o loger afford the upkeep to maitai it, oe member (who was also a Civita) thought it would be a good place for the Civitas. His ame was Lawrece Wells The Civita Club of Wichita acquired the property i the late 1970s ad i the Fall of 1979 bega to remodel the facilities with a Federal Commuity Block Grat.. Residet architect Lawrece Wells desiged the remodeled buildig ad it was dedicated i the Sprig of The Civita Club of Wichita has used it as their meetig place ever sice. The facility is made available for others to use as well. Other local groups hold their mothly meetigs there. It is also a popular veue for family evets such as birthday parties, holiday gatherigs, baby showers, etc.

May 12, 1964, the Muskogee Civita Club held its regular weekly lucheo i the Civita House where cool breezes were whippig through the paeless widows & doorless door Civita House was added to & progress was made o remodelig a ew roof, completely rebuilt fireplace, 10 ft cocrete block extesio o the south, restrooms, widows added, 2 ew steel doors, a double kitche sik & plumbig. Power was istalled alog with a isulated ceilig, attic fas, ew tables & rage. Civita House was used i 1965 for several 5th Tuesday meetigs while the club was doig luch meetigs every week at differet restaurats. I about 2004, the club decided to begi meetig regularly at the Civita House ad have cotiued to date. The Civita House is reted o weekeds oe of their year roud fudraisers. I 2007, they heard of the playgroud sposored by the Bartlesville Civita Club ad a group of Muskogee Civitas visited their park. Do Garriso Presidet of the Muskogee Club at the time challeged the club to build a hadicapped accessible playgroud i their Civita Park. Leora Garriso applied for a 501(c)(3) for the club & bega raisig fuds for the $250,000 playgroud I 2010, they dedicated the 1st phase of the playgroud. I April, 2012, the playgroud was fiished & a big celebratio was held to dedicate the hadicapped accessible playgroud. PARAGOULD CIVITAN CLUB After 4 years of raisig moey thru the Roll to the Goal Wheelchair Basketball Touramet ad busiess sposorships, the Civita Park Iclusive Playgroud was istalled i The etire structure is accessible to ayoe usig a wheelchair or walker. They ca eve drive the trai. Paragould, AR was amed after 2 giats of the railroad idustry whose lies itersected ad formed the tow JW Paramore & Jay Gould. Civitas wated to hoor their heritage i choosig the desig of the playgroud. The playgroud cosists of umerous play paels for bogos & rai wheels, as well as regular swigs, toddler bucket seats ad adaptive swig seats. The surface is poured i place rubber which allows walkers & wheelchairs easy access o a smooth surface. The cost of the playgroud was over $100, The commuity joied together to make a positive differece i the lives of childre sposorships for the playgroud icluded $250, $500 or $1000 levels ad busiess logos are placed o a sig at the etrace to the playgroud. The largest fudraiser was the Roll To The Goal Wheelchair Basketball Touramet the 1st touramet was held i Teams cosist of 3 plays & they play half court games. Each touramet raised $3,000 - $4,500. With the help of the Mayor of Paragould ad the Parks & Recreatio Director, they were able to get a state grat of $35,000 to complete their moetary goal.

14 HEARTLAND EXPRESS 14 CIVITAN CLUB OF TOPEKA The Civita Park i Topeka is located i Gage Park just south of the Topeka Zoo ad across the street from the ewly istalled wheelchair-accessible softball diamod. Topeka Civitas work i collaboratio with Shawee Couty Parks & Recreatio to sposor/host summer camps each year (Jue-July) for approximately 25 youth & tees with itellectual/developmetal disabilities weekly. Each Sprig, Civita Club members host a clea-up day at the park where they rake leaves, clea up flower beds, sweep ad build ew tables for the shelter house. Each summer, club members atted camp for a day for luch, providig luch for the campers ad sharig coversatio. Civita Day Camp wet thru major reovatios approximately 5 years ago ad the Civita Club of Topeka was istrumetal i providig moetary & voluteer support to upgrade the shelter house roof, istall ew flagpoles at the etrace & purchase ew playgroud equipmet (with the assistace of a grat from the Prairie Bad Pottawatomi Natio). This past year, the Civita Club of Topeka purchased a ew Dome Climber for the playgroud ad paid for the istallatio of a rubberized surface for a total cost of $5, agai with a grat from PBPN as well as from proceeds of our aual Golf Touramet. Whe summer camps are ot i sessio, the Civita Day Camp is ope to the geeral public for everyoe s ejoymet! PRATT CIVITAN PARK SAND SPRINGS Istallatio of the 1st Vortex equipmet (Splashpad) beig istalled. The istallatio will be a aquatic play area that combies the sesatios of differet water movemets flowig, mistig, ad jettig.
