2 REPORT FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Members, Welcome to the Autumn edition of the Rawson Review. We have many exciting changes and promotions in progress this quarter and are confident that you will be thrilled with what is to come. Firstly, I am excited to share with you an amazing incentive we have had to renew your membership at our fabulous Club; be here on Wednesday 2 March from 8:30pm for the $5,000 cash draw. In conjunction with restaurant renovations the Club has appointed a talented Executive Chef, Nick Whitehouse. Nick comes to us with impressive credentials including having worked for over a decade in 1 and 2 Michelin Star restaurants and having appeared on Masterchef Professionals. Information on the new restaurant and menus will be online very soon. I hope you take the opportunity to dine in the restaurant when it re-opens. For those involved in the community who would like the support of the Club in 2016 please be sure to seek out the Clubgrants information on the website. Applications for charity, community support and sponsorship are available mid-march. In 2015 this program saw us distribute $338,000 into the community, so please look into this scheme if you work with or know of an organisation in need. Our Annual Service Excellence Staff Awards were held in February and it is my pleasure to inform you of the winners of the main categories: Employee of the Year went to Keely Dornom Middle Manager of the Year was won by Sara Ganley Members Choice Award was won by Beverley Poole The Board of Directors congratulate the winners of the many Service Excellence Awards and all the staff for the great work they do. I would also like to congratulate Club member and Epping RSL Sub branch member Mr John Eppel on being recently awarded the French Legion of Honour Medal by the President of The French Republic. This accolade was for his active service in the RAAF and Bomber Command in WW2 and the liberation of France from the German forces. Further congratulations go to Mr Edgar Robards who this February is a 50 year member of the Club. On behalf of The Board of Directors and our Management Team we hope you enjoy the activities and entertainment that has been planned for the next 3 months. Any veterans that would like to parade to the Cenotaph should assemble at the corner of Blaxland Road and Epping Road at 5.45am to then march to the Cenotaph. Should rain prevent this service being held at Forest Park there will be a service held in the Foyer of the Epping Club.
