Next Committee Meeting: The next committee meeting will be on Saturday 18 th June at 2pm, at the home of John Dawe & Anita Laidlay s at 59 Mitchelmore St Turvey Park. The Cultural Award and the Popular Vote were both awarded to John Titus with his Beautifully grown specimen of Paphiopedilum insigne.

2 Winners at our May Meeting This month s Members Draw was No 30 John Titus and as he was present he received the $20-00 cash. The prizes for this month s raffle where won by Marie Engelbrecht, John Dawe, Patrick Tenison, Keith Scott and Edna Willis. Thank You to Phil Grech and Ralph Webb for donating the extra Orchids to the raffle. Congratulations to the winners and good luck to all in the next draw. May Meeting Phil Grech from Bairnsdale Victoria traveled to our May meeting and did an excellent talk on how he fertilizes and grows his Australian Native Orchids he also did a demonstration on how he pots on his orchids all year round with minimal to no disturbance of the roots. Thanks to Phil and Joy for traveling so far to speak to us. Phil doing a talk on his horse manure tea bags. Phil about to do a demonstration on potting on. June Meeting Anita and I will be doing a talk (back to basics) on preparing your orchids for our monthly benching nights. July Meeting & Casserole Night Don t forget the casserole night in July. Same format as last year. We will have tea and coffee but if you would like a soft drink please BYO The July meeting will Commence at 6pm with our General Meeting at our usual time at 7-30 pm. We will have a to bring sheet at the June meeting with which you can chose your preference of Main s or Desert. Newsletters I am trying to get a full set of newsletters together for the society I have quite a few thanks to Bruce & Jan Lampe so if there are any of our members who can help please let me know Thanks John. Margaret Johnson and Janet Baumer have helped fill in quite a few gaps Thank You. 3 Home Visit for May The home visit for May was at Brian & Pam Dear s San Isidore. It was a great afternoon and it was good to see their set up Thank you to all who contributed to a great afternoon. 4 Spring Show We are now seeking Raffle Prizes for our Monster Spring Show Raffle if you have anything to donate could you please bring it in no later than our July Meeting, This is our only real fund raiser for the year so let s all get involved and make the best yet. Raffle Tickets Raffle Tickets for our monster Raffle to be drawn at our Spring Show are being posted out with this newsletter, With one book of 10 per member, Can you please sell or purchase tickets at $1.00 per ticket & bring the books & money back to the General Meeting no later than our September meeting on the 8/9/16. Bus Trip Albury Wodonga Orchid Club Bus Trip in August 13 th and 14 th to the National Orchid Extravaganza at Dural Has been cancelled for this year due to insufficient No s. Let s hope next year we can get something going. Badges If there is any member who needs a name badge can you please contact John Dawe and he will arrange for one to be made up.
