I am so glad that it is no longer snowing in Vancouver and that spring time is upon us! I still cannot believe that it is already almost April. I have kept busy with my visitations and I only have one left as your District Governor this year. I must say I am so impressed by all clubs hospitality and I am grateful for all of your support. Many clubs have already or will conduct their Board of Directors Election soon. So please remember to report the Officers to MyLCI in a timely manner. District H has already had their Spring Conference earlier this month which I visited for good fellowship. After attending their successful conference, I am even more excited for our own! With that said, I would like to remind all Clubs Presidents and Treasurers to remember to pay all Club Dues. If the club dues are not fully paid by the spring conference date, your club will not be able to vote! So far we have a great registration turn out for our spring conference! We have a super fun conference opening fun night planned on April 21, 2017! It will be a movie trivia night, with an instant photo booth and tons of great raffle prizes for you to win! So make sure you brush up on movie quotes, scenes etc. and come in your best movie star or movie character costume to earn more raffle tickets! Our district also participated in the Spring Membership drive at the Vancouver Main Library. The turn-out was great and many clubs participated! We received a lot of public inquiries in regards to membership to various Lions Clubs, so I cannot wait for SPRING CONFERENCE SIGN UP our Clubs to show these new members what lionism is all about! More great news about membership is that Vancouver Diamond Lions Club has successfully recruited members this year to a total of 100 to commemorate the Lions international Centennial Year! Even though this year is almost finished, many clubs are still going strong with big fundraisers ahead! Vancouver Diamond Lions Club has their 10th Year Anniversary Gala at River Rock Casino theatre and Vancouver Shaughnessy Club has their Shanghai Shanghai fundraiser as well to name a few! See you all at our Spring Conference and slow down and take a moment to smell the roses! Yours in Lionism, M A R C H Simon Yau District Governor 19A PASSION TO EXCEL Please see attached Spring Conference materials for registration forms, advertising application and Fun Night details! Look forward to seeing you there!
