2 MESSE MÜNCHEN IS EXPANDING As of summer 2016, a new conference center and the two new halls C5 and C6 are taking shape in the northeast of the exhibition grounds. The total number of halls available at the exhibition venue will thus increase to 18 as of fall Embedded in the spacious outdoor exhibition area, the Conference Center Nord is due to open in January 2019 and will offer ideal conditions for a wide variety of trade fairs, conventions and events. LOCATION MUNICH Munich s economic strength is founded on several important pillars. The diverse economic structure, the wide range of growth industries and the successful mix of global players and SMEs offer substantial opportunities for success. Munich is the powerhouse of the German economy. Following its move to Munich-Riem 19 years ago, Messe München started out with twelve halls. Right from the outset in 1998, demand was so great that just two years later, in the fall of 2000, the halls C1 and C2 were built, followed by halls C3 and C4 in Deliberations about a further expansion with two additional halls to increase existing capacities have been ongoing since The actual construction work started in summer 2016: As of fall 2018, 18 state-of-the-art exhibition halls will be ready for occupancy plus, complementing the ICM Internationales Congress Center München, a new conference center located in the northeast of the trade fair venue. Capacity is particularly tight at trade fairs like bauma, BAU, IFAT and ISPO MUNICH, events organized by Messe München itself. Year on year, all the available space at these events is fully booked. More space is also needed for third-party exhibitions and congresses. Munich is very popular for national and international congresses; within Germany it is the second most important destination. Munich offers the ideal setting for a perfect trade fair and conference experience. In addition to its exhibition and event locations, the city rates highly with a host of other amenities: The tourist attractiveness of the region is undisputed, the general security situation is excellent. Munich is located in the heart of Europe and connected to the world thanks to Munich airport. Center of the German high-tech industry: It is home to around 22,000 companies in the fields of electronics, telecommunications, electrical, mechanical, and automotive engineering as well as aerospace. Number one in Europe in the IT and communication technology sectors as well as media, finance and life sciences. Seven DAX-listed companies are headquartered in Munich. Excellent infrastructure. 3 PRIME LOCATION WITH HIGH FLEXIBILITY Northeast The new Conference Center Nord and the two new halls will be erected in the northeast of the exhibition grounds. Thanks to its prominent location directly adjacent to the outdoor exhibition area, the new Conference Center Nord features ample parking space and is accessible by public transport from the Messestadt Ost subway stop (U2). 4 Northeast Hall C5 Hall C6 FLOOR PLAN GROUND FLOOR Multi-functionality and flexibility take top priority in the new Conference Center Nord. The conference rooms and halls are suitable for a wide range of uses and connected to Hall C6, which can be divided by mobile partition walls as needed. A spacious, light-flooded foyer welcomes guests at arrival. 5 FLOOR PLAN 1st FLOOR An independent conference area is going to take up the hall s front section on the upper floor. Through the foyer, guests will reach the conference rooms and halls for small to medium-sized events ranging from 250 up to a total capacity of 1,200 people. The northeastern conference hall with its large glass front offers a view of the outdoor exhibition area. 6 HALL C6: TOTAL FLEXIBILITY Hall C6 is directly connected to the Conference Center Nord. The state-of-theart hall at ground level offers generous event space with plenty of natural light thanks to expansive glazing. Its column-free construction and a ceiling height of approx. 11 meters makes the hall fully vehicle-accessible. Hall C6 features mobile partition walls and can be individually divided in both transverse and longitudinal direction, thus offering tailor-made solutions for exhibitions, conventions and meetings to suit any requirements. Events held on the upper floor of the Conference Center Nord can be combined with additional exhibition and catering areas in Hall C6 and with other conference halls of various sizes to create an attractive, customized event space.
