1 CAPA CONFERENCE SPECIAL EVENTS Welcome Drinks Thursday, 17 November 6.00pm to 8.00pm We would like to invite all CAPA Delegates to share drinks and light refreshments with us on the Balcony of Griffith Film School at 6pm on Thursday, 17 November. The film school is a short train ride or a 30-minute walk away from the Sofitel - along Brisbane s South Bank Parklands or the equally beautiful Botanic Gardens (for directions please see below). Join us for Welcome Drinks on the eve of the conference. Special Screening Friday, 18 November 7.30pm to 9.30pm We are pleased to announce that the Brisbane Asia-Pacific Film Festival is presenting a special screening of The Land of the Enlightened during the CAPA Conference. The screening is free of charge. But as seats are limited, we would like to ask you to register your attendance under this link: The film s director, Pieter-Jan De Pue, is a graduate of RITS Brussels. Bert Beyens, former head of RITS, will introduce the film and moderate a Q&A with the director after the screening. The Land of the Enlightened had its world premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The film is nominated for Best Documentary at the 2016 European Film Awards. 2 CAPA CONFERENCE DIRECTIONS Brisbane International Airport Terminal to Sofitel Brisbane The easiest way to get to the Sofitel is via the Airtrain. Tickets can be purchased on the platform. Be sure to get off at Central Station, and it is just a short walk to the Sofitel from there. This is a 3-stop, 5-minute train ride. From South Bank station, it is a 300-meter walk to the school. For those who like to walk the 2.8 kilometres, the Google Map below details walking directions from Sofitel Brisbane Central to Griffith Film School. Other transport options can be found through Translink: Taxis can be ordered from the Reception at the Sofitel. Sofitel Brisbane to Queensland College of Art (for Conference Venue) The CAPA 2016 Conference Venue is at Griffith University s Queensland College of Art (QCA), a 3-minute walk away from Griffith Film School. QCA is located at 226 Grey Street, South Brisbane QLD From Brisbane Central station, trains on the Gold Coast Line, Beenleigh Line and Cleveland Line all stop at South Bank station. This is a 3-stop, 5-minute train ride. From South Bank station, it is a 200-meter walk to QCA. For those who like to walk the 2.5 kilometres, the Google Map below details walking directions from Sofitel Brisbane Central to Griffith University, Queensland College of Art.
