11 General Information Olympic Games from 27 July 12 August 2012 Busiest Operational Days: Opening Ceremony: 27 July Closing Ceremony: 12/13 August Paralympics Games from 29 August - 09 September 2012 Additional 3000 Business Aviation Movements expected between 14 July - 15 August
12 General Information Airspace Restrictions in place from 14 July - 12 September Slot Coordination will be in effect at many airports from 21 July 15 August. Slots are coordinated by Airport Coordination Limited (ACL) and will be monitored for slot adherence. Heathrow and Gatwick will most likely be reserved for airlines. Luton long term parking capacity will be heavily impacted. Use of Helicopters will be severely restricted over London during the Olympics.
13 Airports 34 Olympic Venues across the UK; 27 in the greater London Area Seven Primary Airports of Entry in the London Area: EGSS, EGGW, EGKB, EGLF, EGLL, EGKK and EGLC Airports under Slot Coordination are listed below. 14 Slot Requirements Both Arrival and Departure Slots must be obtained. Issued on first come, first serve basis. Slots are already difficult to obtain at peak times/days. Slots are only valid for the times issued. Any changes will require new slots subject to availability. If Flow Control (ATC) delays are experienced, Operators will NOT be required to revise the slot. Medical and Humanitarian Flights will be exempt from slot allocations on a case-by-case basis. If it is deemed that slots have been intentionally misused and/or significant disruption caused, fines of up to 20,000 can be imposed.
15 Slots Coordination Handlers will submit the Slot Application on Operator s behalf to ensure Parking and Slot Availability is synchronized. Once approved, Handler will provide a 14-digit Slot ID. Some Handlers/Airports are charging a Non-refundable Booking Fee. Multiple Revisions could result in forfeiture of your entire payment.
16 Flight Plan Filing Flight Plans must contain the 14-digit Slot ID in Field 18 of Flight Plan. Flight Plan must be filed in exact accordance to Approved Slots. Non-compliance may result in Slot Cancellation. 16
17 Airspace Extra Holding Fuel is recommended for all Operations to Airports in the Restricted Area. Holding Patterns should be expected and will differ from Airport to Airport. NATS is still restructuring the Airspace for the Olympic Period. Extended Routing within UK Airspace is possible.

22 EGSS - Stansted Single Runway; 10,000 feet Open 24 Hours Slots are required 24 hours a day, every day. Hours of Operation during the Olympic time period: 24 Hours Requirements : A Nonrefundable Deposit is required to secure Parking. FBO Ramp Space is nearly full and airport owned ramp positions may be allocated.
23 EGGW - Luton Single Runway; 7086 feet Open 24 Hours Slots are required 24 Hours a day, every day. Hours of Operation during the Olympic time period: 24 Hours Requirements : A Nonrefundable Deposit is required to secure Parking. FBO Ramp Space is nearly full and airport owned ramp positions may be allocated.
24 EGKB Biggin Hill Primary Runway: 5908 feet Hours of Operation : M-F 0730L-2100L with extensions available; 0630L- 0730L for departures and 2100L-2200L for arrivals Weekends and Holidays 0900L-2000L Slots: ACL Slots only required during the Olympic Period Runway 11/29 will be closed and used for Additional Parking.
25 EGLF Farnborough Single Runway: 8001 feet Hours of Operation: M-F 0700L- 2000L with extensions to 2200L with prior approval. Weekends and Holidays 0800L-2000L Slots are required year round. PPR is required during the Olympic Period Advanced Payment is required to secure Slots and PPR. TAG Aviation will be issuing a Transportation PPR Number for Ground Transport in/out of the airport. This applies to any vehicle that requires airport access.
26 Other London Area Airports EGLC (London City): Slots available since 01 Feb Parking is very limited and the airport is in the Prohibited Zone. EGWU (Northolt): Announced it will be closed to GA Traffic between 25 Jul - 14 Aug due to Military Ops. Head of State Ops may be possible on a case-by-case basis. EGLL (Heathrow): Closed for GA Aircraft from 14 Jul - 14 Sep during normal hours of operation. Ad Hoc Slots between 2330L L may become available for aircraft meeting the size and noise requirements. EGKK (Gatwick): Slots can be booked for GA Traffic and specific Olympic Parking Stands have been created.
