2 5th Sheila Hayes Memorial Championships Dear Teachers, Parents and Dancers, We are returning to the fabulous Charleville Park Hotel for the 5th Sheila Hayes Memorial Championships with its excellent facilities for providing a quality Irish Dancing event. This year we are having 9 Adjudicators (3 on each round) and will be introducing single age groups in all Open Mixed Championships from Under 11 to Under 21 plus an Under 23 and a Senior Over 23. This will enable everyone to practise their World dances and compete in their own age group in preparation for Oireachtas Rince Na Cruinne This year all Open Championships from Under 11 will be on Saturday 3rd March 2018, with a 100% RECALL. There will be 3 stages on Sunday for the e competitions, including a Priomh Comortas competition, with 1 Adjudicator plus the Under 8, Under 9 & Under 10 Championships with 3 Adjudicators. As in previous years all Open Championships will be mixed with a perpetual cup for the winner and a perpetual shield for the highest Boy/Girl. The Sheila Hayes Memorial Perpetual Cup Girls Slip Jig and Boys Reel competitions for the Open competitors will be Under 10, Under 13, Under 16 and Over 16 (Trophies 1st to 3rd) and for the e competitors the age groups will be Under 9, Under 11, Under 13 and Over 13. Trophies will be awarded 1st to 3rd for the Sheila Hayes Memorial es Boys Reels and Girls Slip Jig. All competitors will be awarded a certificate of distinction. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in all grade competitions, All Winners in the Reel competitions in Bun, Tus, Primary & Mean will have a perpetual cup awarded and a 1st place sash.. Sashes 1st to 5th in Mixed Open Championships and sashes 1st to 3rd in all Priomh Comortas competitions. Brian Hoban will be providing the two championship stages (32 ft by 24 ft) and all dancing surfaces will be covered with non-slip dance flooring. Our vendor for this year will be Dance City.
