How! Welcome to Big Chief Tipis. As the name suggests, we are the Big Chief of the tipi world and we specialise in hiring out stunning tents for amazing events.

Whether you are striving to be different from the crowd, or you d simply love to have an event that is more in touch with nature, a tipi can make a spectacular backdrop for your special occasion. Our tipis can be used on their own for a more intimate gathering such as a quirky Christmas dinner or children s Cowboys & Indians party, or they can be linked together to form an endless sequence for any number of guests. We can raise or lower the sides dependant on the ohso-temperamental British weather and you can add any number of our interior and exterior Accessories to help create the perfect atmosphere. We know what it takes to make a party to remember and we will work really hard to exceed your expectations and wow your guests. Why choose a tipi? Marquees have been around for donkey s years and quite frankly, we re bored of them! Whatever event you are planning, big or small, our tipis are flexible enough to accommodate.

3 Why choose a tipi? Marquees have been around for donkey s years and quite frankly, we re bored of them! Whatever event you are planning, big or small, our tipis are flexible enough to accommodate. The English word tipi comes from the Lakota word thipi, which means a dwelling, primarily used by the nomadic tribes from the Great Plains of America for hundreds of years, hence the name Big Chief Tipis. Today, our tipis, which are Made In Britain by The Tipi Company, are relatively unchanged from their ancestral beginnings but now use the latest materials and techniques to bring them into the 21st century. Our tipis are constructed using wooden poles and a light coloured canvas which create a stunning space and, unlike the traditional white marquee, you don t have to spend more money lining the interior of the space to create a fabulous atmosphere. 03

What if it rains? Above any other qualities, the tipi is durable and provides warmth in the winter, cool in the heat of summer, and is dry during heavy rains.

If the weather is glorious (we can but hope!) we can raise the outer sides of the tipis to create a witch s hat style so that you and your guests can enjoy the beautiful scenery around you. However if the weather is British, we can close the sides down to protect you from the elements and even add an entrance tunnel with wooden doors to ensure you still have the wow factor when you approach the tipis the possibilities are endless. The unique profile of the tipis, along with the strong wooden poles, which are sourced from North Scandinavian forests where it is extremely cold and hence slow growing, means that they are more stable than marques in high winds and they have strong waterproofing qualities. This makes them perfect for winter events & being erected on all types of hard and soft surfaces even in a car park! You can make them feel cosy simply by adding a fire pit, reindeer fur and soft furnishings all you need is a hot chocolate (or something a little stronger!) in your hands. 04

Gary, aka Big Chief, has over 30 years of experience within the outdoor shelter industry and is the brains behind our custom-made Accessories and special weather kits so whatever the weather, or questions you may have, we will have the answer. Hayley, on the other hand, has worked within the Events industry for the past 10 years and has the planning skills and dream contacts to ensure you have the time of your life at your party! Hadley is our Onsite Chief who turns your dreams into reality and makes sure your event runs smoothly and without a hitch. The three of them, alongside the rest of the team have all bases covered, so that rain, snow, wind or shine your event is one to remember for all the right reasons. We have a 24/7 callout service with backup tents, Little Chiefs and vehicles that are prepared for every eventuality so you can rest assured your event is in safe hands. leave the land as you found it. We love doing our bit for the environment, so everyone who books with Big Chief Tipis will receive their very own Spruce seedling meaning you can plant your own tree at home! Other than being a lovely addition to your garden, it will also help compensate for any carbon released during the transit, installation and packing up process. We also purchase our tipis from The Tipi Company who manufacture their tipis here in Britain, so we are proud to Buy British and it also helps us to reduce our carbon footprint by not importing the tipis from abroad. 07

All three are interlinkable too so whether you fancy a standalone Baby Tipi in your back garden, or a wedding for 200 people with a Midi Tipi chillout space added on, any formation is possible. Our helpful Big Chief Tipis Team will assist in recommending the correct number of tipis to ensure your party is perfect. Big Hat: The Big Chief of our tipi range is the Big Hat and measures 10.3m in diameter. We can raise the sides to interlink as many as you want together so that your party can cater for any number of guests and we can add a range of accessories onto the tipis too to bring the space to life and make it a party to remember! Midi Tipi: Measuring 8.5m in diameter, our Midi Tipi is the perfect addition to your tipi party. It can be added to the front of the tipi configuration to act as a drinks reception space when your guests first arrive at the party, or we can add a tunnel to the Midi Tipi to create a bit more intimacy with chillout furniture, mini firepit and a bar. Baby Tipi: They say that good things come in small sizes and this is certainly true of the smallest tipi in our Big Chief family! Our Baby Tipi measures 6.8m in diameter and is great for adding onto your tipi configuration to act as a chillout space complete with log burner and Moroccan style furnishings, or a children s area with brightly coloured cushions and bunting. 08

Having your wedding in our Big Chief Tipis will ensure you have an evening full of love, joy and laughter, out in the sunshine and under the stars. You can choose a more classical styling on round tables with limewash banqueting chairs, or you can go for long rectangular tables with benches for a more rustic feel the choice is yours! Fairy lights twisted up the poles make for a magical scene at night and bring the tipis to life to ensure you and your guests will dance the night away. Our priority is to make your dreams into memories, so rest assured, your wedding is in the hands of the Big Chief. 13

13 Accessories Everyone knows that an outfit isn t complete without its accessories, and a tipi is no different. Add twinkly lights, a fire pit and soft furnishings to create a cosy feel, or a dancefloor, mirror ball and bar to get the party started! We have spent days and nights designing and manufacturing, in addition to scouring the country for a selection of unique accessories to make your party stand out away from the crowd. We can also provide catering tents, toilets, heaters and generators, so you don t have to worry about the boring bits. Our huge range of interior and exterior Accessories ensures that every event we organise is completely unique from the next. If you are thinking I would love a tipi, but I have nowhere to put it then we may have a few ideas on this depending on your postcode so please ask! We have tipis that range in size from 6.8m to 10.3m diameter so we can find a tipi to suit most sizes of gardens. 3. Once you ve confirmed the date and venue and decided exactly what you want, we ll come and meet you face to face, visit your site, measure up, check access and the type of ground we ll be working on, in addition to finding out where the water & electricity points are. 4. When you re happy with all the details, we will send you a booking form and require a 25% deposit to secure your date. 5. Once you re booked in, we will put together a bespoke floor plan and be on hand for the duration of the time leading up to your big day to help with any questions you may have. We can also point you in the right direction of reputable contacts we have worked with in the past to help make it a party to remember! 6. One month before your event we will be in touch to finalise all details, confirm logistics, along with agreeing setup and set down dates. This is when the remaining 75% will be due to be paid. 7. We ll arrive on site around 2-3 days before your event to set up the tipis, leaving you at least one day for dressing. 8. Party time! 9.
