3 Blackstone Community Park Rouncey Road Blackstone Community Park will be a hectare Park located at the intersection of Rouncey Road and Groningen Road within the Fernbank Community in Stittsville. The proximity to the Monahan Drain to the south of the park will influence the theme and character of by bringing a naturalized area into the park. 3
4 Blackstone Community Park Concept-Theme Landscaped berms will create movement in the park while defining play areas. In the summer, park amenity features will include a swing set, a sand play area, a sheltered picnic area, a play structure for toddlers and older children, a splash pad, two tennis courts, open play areas, one large soccer field that could be used as two mini-soccer fields, one intermediate size soccer field, an adult fitness area, and a skateboard park. In the winter, a puddle rink will be created and a larger berm adjacent to the Monahan Drain may be turned into a small sliding hill for younger children. Trees will be planted in the park with a focus on nut and fruit trees to reflect the agricultural heritage of the community. 4

7 William Bradley Park Porter Place Development William Bradley Park is a new.34 hectares accessible park on gently rolling terrain located on Porter Street in Stittsville. Park Location 7
8 William Bradley Park Two Options: A-Play Area B-Fitness The park includes active and passive play areas, swings, and an asphalt pathway loop with seating and bicycle parking. There are two options for active play for the community to choose from: children s play structure or adult fitness area. An existing vegetative buffer along the southeast of the property complements generous tree planting for shade and visual buffering. The following concept plans and images depict the two options: 8

13 Amberway Park Concept Plan Features New structures and playground features will replace the existing structures adding new, updated play elements to the park. The existing swing bay will remain while updating the swings to include an accessible swing, bucket swing and two belt swings. New accessible wood fibre fall surface (woodchips) will replace sand, meeting Canadian Safety Association standards and making the play structures and swings accessible. A new asphalt pathway and ramp, bench and litter container will complete the project. Existing half court basketball to remain. 13
