Any active member is eligible and anyone can nominate any active member including him or herself. Please express your interest to your section president or write your name at the top of the nomination form. That document may be copied from the national club website, or I will gladly send you one if you would rather receive it that way. Santa Fe Dr,; Littleton, CO TICKETS $10 EACH, CHILDREN UNDER 12 FREE! Note: Tickets on sale at event. Ability Connection Colorado s Annual Colorado Concours d Elegance and Exotic Sports Car Show one of the premiere car shows in the Rocky Mountain Region is almost here. The Colorado Concours is an annual event showcasing nearly 500 rare sports and classic cars, early collectibles and the latest exotics provided by local and regional car clubs. Many of these cars venture out only once a year to help Colorado children. These prestigious beauties are treasures that few people ever get to experience. This family-oriented event draws more than 14,000 participants/attendees and features delicious food, live music, exhibitors, vendors, and fun for everyone! Proceeds from this spectacular event go to Ability Connection Colorado s Creative Options for Early Childhood Education Centers. Please make plans now to attend this event and show your favorite Mercedes. You can bring a new car or an older classic. There is always a good turnout by the other Marques, such as Jaguar, MG, Porsche and many others and we need to make an effort to show others our wonderful cars. If you are bringing a car that is older than 1992, you are eligible to enter the Mercedes Preservation Class Award. You car needs to be mostly original - no total restorations, but can have been maintained with original parts over the years. Repaints in correct color do not count against you. It is really quite easy to qualify. It would be great to see our members bring out their older cars that most of us have probably never seen to this show. We will set up a canopy and arrange for a lunch to be provided for a small fee. For more information go to the following website: 11 For more information, Contact: Robert Unfug, rvunfug@msn.com
12 COLORADO CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE Plan on attending this event on Sunday June 9th 2019 from 9am to 3pm. This is always a great event to see nearly 500 cars. Registartion is $50 for display or club judges cars. Proceeds benefit Ability Connection Colorado's Creative Options for Early Childhood Education Centers. These centers provide early care, intervention, prevention, support and education services to over 600 infants, toddlers and pre-school children and their families each year. Our club will also participate in Preservation Class awards for you cars that are 25 years old or more. This is a fun way to have you mostly original vehicle recognized. It is self judged and fairly easy to win an award. Please contact rvunfug@msn.com if you want to attend. Tech Tip of the Month Brake fluid change. Mercedes recommends changing the brake fluid every 20K miles or every 2 years. Brake fluid (except DOT 5) is hygroscopic which means it absorbs water. The water in the fluid effects the boiling point and can reduce braking performance. Over time the water can damage brake cylinders with internal corrosion. You should also inspect your brake lines on older cars. They can collapse internally leading to dragging brake 12
