Welcome to our latest brochure containing all our excursions and holidays for As well as our usual offering of popular destinations we have included many new trips and itineraries which we trust you will enjoy. Our PRICEBUSTER range has proved increasingly popular so we ve added even more. New for 2011 is our frequent traveller discount scheme. See page 29 for details. Last year s holiday to Blackpool was a huge hit and saw so much demand that we had to add a duplicate coach. A fantastic time was had by all. Highlights within these pages are our 2011 holidays, our exceptional day trip to Blackpool and coach travel to the Royal Wedding. We are continuing with our rolling program of fleet renewal and we can boast one of the youngest and well equipped fleets in the country. 4 January 2011 March 2011 Holiday: Winter Warmer Break, Bournemouth See page 22 February 2011 Gloucester Docks and Snowdrops at Painswick Rococo Gardens We first head to the redeveloped Gloucester Docks with its outlet shopping, waterways museum and numerous waterside eateries. In the afternoon we take a short drive to the Painswick Rococo Garden situated in the beautiful Cotswold countryside and famous for its snowdrop displays. Sunday 13th February Route B Adult & OAP Child (includes admission) Kate Middleton Country Join us for a ride around beautiful Royal Berkshire, we will stop at a convenient spot for you to purchase lunch before we visit Kate Middleton Country. You will see the houses where she has lived, her schools, the church in which she was christened and the beautiful countryside in which she grew up. Sunday 20th February Route C Adult & OAP Child 7.50 London Do As You Please We stop at Kensington for the museums, then the Haymarket for Regent Street, Oxford Street and Buckingham Palace. The final stop will be on the South Bank for the London Eye, Aquarium and other attractions. Wednesday 23rd February Route E Adult & OAP Child 7.50 Devizes and Lacock We travel via Salisbury Plain to the Wiltshire town of Devizes, which can boast over five hundred listed buildings. This was once an important stop for the mail coaches and stagecoaches on the route from London to Bristol, evidenced by the number of coaching inns. After lunch we head to the delightful village of Lacock. Mentioned in the Domesday Book it is now almost entirely owned by the National Trust. This historic village has featured in many films and TV dramas including Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone, Pride and Prejudice and Cranford. We travel home through Marlborough and Hungerford. Sunday 6th March Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child Ideal Home Show Now in its 103rd year this is a unique shopping experience for all areas of the home with over 600 exhibitors. If that s not enough there are demonstration theatres, a live kitchen, catwalk and the usual celebrity guests. Saturday 12th March Route E Adult & OAP Child (includes admission children FREE) Black Country Living Museum This is a fabulous day out for all ages at this recreated Victorian industrial town. Take a look inside original shops and houses, ride a tram or take a lesson at the old school. You could enjoy a pint of real ale at the pub, visit the eateries or take a boat trip on the canal through the famous Dudley Canal tunnel. Sunday 20th March Route A Adult & OAP Child (includes admission) 6 7

5 April 2011 April 2011 Mothers Day Lunch Cruise Join us for our popular Blue Funnel three hour lunch cruise, either sailing down Southampton Water or into the Hamble River. The delicious three course hot luncheon is freshly prepared on board the vessel. We will stop in Winchester on the way home. Sunday 3rd April Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child (includes lunch and cruise) Wimborne Sunday Market and Poole Harbour First stop is this huge open and covered market with over 500 stalls. We then continue on the short distance to Poole Harbour where you can obtain lunch and explore the rejuvenated quayside with its famous pottery. Sunday 10th April Route D (OW) Adult & OAP Child Windsor An Easter visit to Royal Windsor, boasting the largest occupied castle in the world. As well as this famous home the town boasts many fine shops and places to eat. Weather permitting you could explore the Great Park, part of the crown estates, or perhaps take a boat ride on the River Thames. Tuesday 12th April Route C Adult & OAP Child 7.50 Lewes and the Bluebell Railway We first travel to the town of Lewes situated in the rolling South Downs on the banks of the River Ouse. You may wish to visit the imposing castle, view the many historic houses or simply stroll around the shops. After time for lunch we travel the short distance to the Bluebell Railway. This is a heritage steam railway, which has recently been extended and travels through the glorious Sussex countryside. April is the month when carpets of bluebells are in abundance adjacent to the line. Sunday 17th April Route E Adult & OAP Child DOES NOT INCLUDE TRAIN FARE Portsmouth and Southsea Our coach can either set you down in Portsmouth for the Spinnaker Tower, Historic Ships and Gunwharf Quays Outlet Shopping Centre or Southsea for the D-Day Museum, seafront and piers. Thursday 21st April Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child 7.50 Evesham and Blossom Trail Tour We first travel directly to Evesham. This delightful market town stands on the banks of the river Avon. Although steeped in history, with many timber framed buildings, the town also has many modern shops. In the afternoon we begin our Blossom Trail Tour. As featured on BBC s Countryfile one can marvel at the sights of the gorgeous apple and plum orchards throughout the Vale of Evesham. Sunday 24th April Route B Adult & OAP Child The Royal Wedding SPECIAL PRICE We have an early start to miss the traffic and get the best possible location to glimpse the Royal couple and rejoice in the spectacle, pageantry and celebration. Our coach will get as close as possible to Westminster Abbey. Friday 29th April Route XT (plus an extra stop at Chineham Tesco Bus Stand at 06.30) Adult & OAP Child 7.50 May 2011 Mystery Tour A full day s excursion with various stops along the way. Sunday 1st May Route B Adult & OAP Child

6 May 2011 May 2011 St. Albans and the Grand Union Canal Cruise We stop first in the City of St. Albans. Time will be allowed for lunch and the opportunity to visit the splendid Abbey or the impressive Roman remains, which include stunning mosaics, and artifacts, or you may just wish to shop. Later in the day we cross the picturesque Dunstable Downs and arrive at Pitstone Wharf for a one and a half hour cruise on the Grand Union Canal. Sunday 8th May Route B Adult & OAP Child (includes boat ride) Gower Coast We get off to an early start for our excursion to West Wales. Situated beyond Swansea is the Gower Peninsula and Heritage Coast. We spend the day touring what was one of the first places in the country to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our main stop will be in Mumbles with its array of gift shops, eateries, lighthouse, lifeboat station and pier. Sunday 15th May Route XB Adult & OAP Child Wilts and Dorset Travelling west we stop at the Wilton Outlet Shopping Centre for morning coffee. We then make for our lunch stop in Shaftesbury with its famous Gold Hill, featured in the Hovis adverts. Our coach continues through the Blackmore Vale and some beautiful Somerset countryside before arriving in West Bay, the setting for TV s Harbour Lights starring Nick Berry. After some fresh sea air and perhaps an ice cream we head for home via Blandford Forum and Salisbury, with a comfort stop somewhere on route. Sunday 22nd May Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child Southend-on-Sea or Lakeside Shopping An excursion to this popular Essex resort with its long famous pier and seaside attractions. Lakeside Shopping Centre is one of the largest shopping areas in Europe. It boasts major stores such as House of Fraser, Debenhams and M&S as well as a vast array of restaurants. There is also a dedicated Shopmobility Centre. Sunday 29th May Route B Adult & OAP Child Bognor and/or Butlins Spend the day at the seaside or visit Butlins with fun for all the family including, Waterworld, Go Karts, Bowling, Fun Fair and all the superb entertainment for which Butlins is renowned. Tuesday 31st May Route E Adult & OAP Child 7.50 EXCLUDES ADMISSION June 2011 Sanders Garden World and Burnham-on-Sea This huge garden centre, situated just outside Bridgwater, stocks everything you could possibly need for the garden plus a huge range of items for the home. Time will be allowed so that you may obtain a freshly cooked lunch in their extensive restaurant. Our afternoon is spent at the Somerset resort of Burnham-on-Sea with views across the Bristol Channel. Sunday 5th June Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child The Heart of the Peak District We make an early start for our journey to Derbyshire. Our lunch stop will be in the spa town of Buxton famous for its geothermal spring. This gateway town to the Peak District has much in common with Bath owing to its Georgian crescent, opera house, pavilion and immaculate gardens. We leave Buxton and head deep into the heart of the National Park arriving in Castleton, noted for its spectacular caves and caverns. From here we begin to head for home with a short stop in the village of Eyam. Best known for being the plague village that chose to isolate itself when the plague was first discovered here. We will arrive back in the local area late evening. Sunday 12th June Route XB Adult & OAP Child

7 July 2011 June 2011 Royal Ascot Get your glad rags on, pack a picnic and come to The Silver Ring at Royal Ascot. Whether you are looking for a sporting or social day out Royal Ascot has a wonderful atmosphere for all. The feature race of the day is The Golden Jubilee Stakes, and an added attraction is the Queen s procession that arrives at 2pm. Saturday 18th June Route E Adult & OAP (includes admission) BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BEFORE 30th APRIL 2011 Trams, Trains, Sea and Stunning Scenery (Fathers Day) We travel to the genteel East Devon resort of Seaton by way of the Jurassic Coast, passing Bridport and Lyme Regis. Noteable attractions here are the Pecorama Model Village and Railway and also the Seaton Tramway which operates unique narrow gauge heritage trams through the pretty Axe Valley. Sunday 19th June Route D (OW) Adult & OAP Child Broadstairs, Sandwich and the Old Kent Coast Our first visit of the day is to Broadstairs, on the Isle of Thanet. This quaint town has a sandy beach, harbour and an interesting Charles Dicken s museum inside his former home. In the afternoon we follow the picturesque coastal road through Ramsgate and onto Sandwich. This is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the country. Within its walls can be found many period houses, some with their characteristic Kent Peg roofs. Sandwich was once a busy Cinque Port but now lies two miles from the sea. The town s street plan has changed little since the Domesday Book. Our route back towards home will take in the town of Deal, the South Foreland heritage coast and The White Cliffs of Dover. Sunday 26th June Route D Adult & OAP Child The Isle of Wight We travel via Southampton Water to East Cowes. We will tour this beautiful Island aboard our luxury coach with stops for lunch and afternoon tea. Sunday 3rd July Route D (OW) Adult & OAP Child (includes ferry) RHS Hampton Court Flower Show The show is in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace on the banks of the River Thames. For those who wish to take advantage of the sale of show plants we will stay until the show closes. Sunday 10th July Route E Adult & OAP Child (includes admission) Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) We first take a short drive to Newbury where time will be given for lunch, shopping or perhaps some relaxation on the canal side. Then it s on to Highclere Castle, setting for the recent and hugely popular period TV drama Downton Abbey. The castle is owned and lived in by the Carnarvon family. The 5th Earl of Carnarvon famously discovered the Egyptian tomb of Tutankhamun. Your ticket not only includes the house and grounds but the fascinating Egyptian exhibition which charts the story of the Earl s discoveries and expeditions. Many artifacts and antiques on display are 3000 to 5000 years old. For those requiring refreshment the castle has its own kitchen and tearoom. Our coach returns home through some superb North Hampshire countryside setting for the tales of Watership Down. 8 July 2011 August 2011 Brighton A summer excursion to Brighton with its beach, pier, Pavillion and excellent shopping. Sunday 24th July Route E Adult & OAP Child The Big Cheese, Caerphilly This FREE festival is situated next to the spectacular medieval castle. There is something to entertain everyone, including re-enactment displays, a funfair and a huge food tent housing over fifty Welsh producers. Sunday 31st July Route B Adult & OAP Child August 2011 Moreton-in-Marsh Market and Cotswold Cream Tea We head to Moreton-in-Marsh for the weekly market, which draws shoppers from across the Midlands. You ll find everything from clothes to car polish and also fresh local produce. After lunch we travel the short distance to Stow-on-the-Wold for a delicious Cotswold cream tea. Tuesday 2nd August Route B Adult & OAP Child (includes cream tea) Portsmouth and Southsea Our coach can either set you down in Portsmouth for the Spinnaker Tower, Historic Ships and Gunwharf Quays Outlet Shopping Centre, or Southsea for the D-Day Museum, seafront and piers. Next we go to the birthplace of William Shakespeare. As well as the attractions associated with his life and works Stratford sits on the banks of the River Avon and is a lovely place to spend a lazy summer afternoon. It has a variety of timber framed buildings, shops, pavement cafes and restaurants. Sunday 7th August Route B Adult & OAP Child London Do As You Please Stops will be made in Kensington for the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Harrods. The next stop will be for Covent Garden and then on to the South Bank for the London Aquarium and London Eye. Tuesday 9th August Route B Adult & OAP Child 7.50 Rye on Market Day and Hastings Browse this renowned weekly market at the ancient town of Rye. In the afternoon we take a short drive to Hastings where you can explore the old town, castle, or maybe just relax on the seafront. Thursday 11th August Route D Adult & OAP Child Eastbourne and Free Air Show To the East Sussex resort of Eastbourne, with its long flat promenade, seafront gardens, pier and shops. Our visit coincides with one of the country s finest free air shows. Highlights include the Red Arrows, RAF Displays and parachute display teams. Sunday 14th August Route D Adult & OAP Child

9 August 2011 August 2011 Marlborough on Market Day & Avebury World Heritage Site We first stop in the pretty Wiltshire town of Marlborough with its bustling market, shops and tearooms. In the afternoon our coach continues on the short distance to the village of Avebury, famous for the Neolithic stones that surround it. These are some of the most important megalithic monuments in the world. There is also a museum here, with interactive exhibits for the children and a National Trust cafeteria. Wednesday 17th August Route B Adult & OAP Child 7.50 (admission to the stones is FREE) Oxford or Blenheim Palace Travel to the dreaming spires of Oxford with its university, museums, galleries, covered market, shopping centre and historic buildings. Alternatively stay on the coach for Blenheim Palace, home to the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Winston Churchill. There will be time to tour the palace and explore the magnificent landscaped grounds which include a maze and aviary. Friday 19th August Route B Adult & OAP Child 7.50 DOES NOT INCLUDE ADMISSIONS Bournemouth including Free Air Show Enjoy this free air show set against the backdrop of Bournemouth s award winning beaches and gardens. There are also sea displays and live family entertainment. Sunday 21st August Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child Greenwich Situated on the River Thames in East London, Greenwich is steeped in maritime history and is designated a World Heritage Site. It is home to Greenwich Meantime and the Meridian Line. You can learn more about GMT at the Royal Observatory. You may also wish to visit Sir Christopher Wrens old Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum, the preserved clipper ship the Cutty Sark, or simply stroll through beautiful Greenwich Park. Nearby is the Thames flood barrier and original foot tunnel to the Isle of Dogs. Tuesday 23rd August Route E Adult & OAP Child 7.50 Weymouth on Market Day SPECIAL PRICE A day in the resort of Weymouth with one of the finest sandy beaches in the country. Thursday 25th August Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child Weston-super-Mare We travel to the resort of Weston-super-Mare with its wide sandy beach, amusements, gardens and shopping area. Sunday 28th August Route B Adult & OAP Child Holiday: Summer in Scotland Break See page 24 Covent Garden and Bank of England Museum Our first stop is Covent Garden for the London Transport Museum, shopping and lunch. In the afternoon we continue into the City and to Threadneedle Street, home to the Bank of England. Its museum portrays the banks history. Collections include old notes and coins, tools, furniture, books and artifacts. The museum is both interesting and educational for all ages. Tuesday 30th August Route E Adult & OAP Child 7.50 (admission to Bank of England Museum is FREE) September 2011 Swanage We travel to Swanage by way of the Sandbanks chain ferry taking advantage of the bus lane that gives us priority over other vehicles. This popular resort boasts a fine sandy beach, numerous eateries and a steam railway. We take a different route home via Corfe Castle. Sunday 4th September Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child

10 October 2011 Kent and Sussex Explorer September 2011 Day trip to Blackpool Illuminations We make an early start and arrive in Blackpool in time for lunch. Your afternoon is free to sample the attractions including the Tower and Pleasure Beach. Our coach will return to pick you up in the early evening. We then take a tour of the famous illuminations before heading for home. Arrival in the local area will be the early hours of Sunday Morning. (This excursion will be operated by an executive class coach which includes toilet/washroom. Comfort breaks will also be included). Saturday 10th September Route XB Adult & OAP Child Worthing A day at this Sussex resort with its pier, promenade, beach, gardens and shops. Sunday 18th September Route E Adult & OAP Child Chepstow and the Museum of Welsh Life After making our way across the Severn Bridge and into Wales we make a stop in the Welsh border town of Chepstow. Home to Chepstow Castle it is the oldest surviving stone fortification in Britain. From here we continue west to the outskirts of Cardiff and the Museum of Welsh Life. This is one of Europe s leading open air living museums and Wales most popular heritage attraction. Here you can explore the history of Wales and its people. There are over forty historic buildings, gardens, demonstrations and animals. Sunday 25th September Route B Adult & OAP Child (admission to the Museum is FREE) First to Tunbridge Wells, once an inland health resort in an attractive district of hills where Kent and Sussex meet. There will be time to look around the Pantiles area and obtain morning coffee before we continue onto the town of Battle, the site of the battle of Hastings in After lunch and the opportunity to learn more about this area in the museum and visitor centre we pass through more beautiful Sussex countryside before arriving for our afternoon tea stop in the charming village of Alfriston. From here we return directly to the local area. Sunday 2nd October Route E Adult & OAP Child Lymington on Market Day and New Forest Drive We head to this picturesque market town on the edge of the New Forest with its traditional weekly market, quaint shops and busy harbour. We leave Lymington midafternoon and take a leisurely autumnal drive through the forest. Saturday 22nd October Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child 7.50 London Do As You Please Stops will be made in Kensington for the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Harrods. The next stop will be for Covent Garden and then onto the South Bank for the London Aquarium and London Eye. Wednesday 26th October Route B Adult & OAP Child 7.50 Bridgnorth and the Severn Valley Railway Our coach takes us north into Shropshire. We stop for lunch in the attractive town of Bridgnorth. The town is divided in two halves, high town and low town. The UK s steepest funicular cliff railway, dating from the 1890 s, is a useful link between the two. Our coach sets you down in high town. There are numerous pubs for lunch as there was once a sizable port here. Bridgnorth has many historic buildings most notable the timber framed town hall. In the afternoon we travel to Kidderminster on a steam hauled train through the stunning Severn Valley. This heritage railway is the longest in the country. Our coach rejoins us at Kidderminster from where we head for home. Sunday 30th October Route A Adult & OAP Child (includes train ride) 18 19

11 November 2011 Autumn Tints, the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley We tour this ancient forest to witness some of the season s most vibrant colours. We then travel down the gorgeous Wye Valley. Stops will be made for lunch and afternoon tea. Sunday 6th November Route B Adult & OAP Child Westfield Shopping Centre Come and discover Westfield London. A stunning architectural masterpiece with over 275 shops from luxury fashion labels to high street favourites and over 50 places to eat and drink, Westfield London is truly a unique shopping experience. Saturday 12th November Route E Adult & OAP 10 Child 7.50 Oxford Spend a day in the Dreaming Spires of Oxford. Shop till you drop or tour the famous colleges. Saturday 19th November Route B Adult & OAP 10 Child 7.50 Marks & Spencer Hedge End & Winchester Christmas Market A chance to make an early a start with the Christmas shopping at Marks & Spencer s Hedge End Super Store. In the afternoon we will take you to Winchester where there is a superb Christmas Market and lights. Saturday 26th November Route E Adult & OAP Child 7.50 December 2011 Christmas 2011 Enjoy Turkey and Tinsel in Exmouth. See Page 25 for Details. Covent Garden and London Lights Our coach will take you to Covent Garden with its fantastic selection of eateries, market stalls and speciality shops. Also here is the London Transport Museum. At sunset you will reconvene with our coach for a tour of the Christmas lights before heading home. Sunday 4th December Route C Adult & OAP Child 7.50 Bath Christmas Market Another visit to this highly popular European style Christmas market. All stalls are conveniently situated in the shopping area close to the Abbey. Sunday 11th December Route E (OW) Adult & OAP Child Brugge Christmas Market Journey with us to the Venice of the North. You will have approximately five hours to explore this medieval Belgian City, with its intricate canals, chocolate and lace shops and the fabulous Christmas Market. There will be time enough for those who wish to take a boat ride. WEDNESDAY To the West Highland town of Oban. This bustling town is the gate way to the Isles. Its harbour is always busy with ferries, fishing boats and pleasure craft. Whilst here you may wish to visit the famous Oban Whiskey Distillery or walk up to McCaig s tower, which offers spectacular views across the Sound of Kerrera. THURSDAY A day to the Isle of Bute. Our coach will take the short ferry crossing from Colintravie and we will arrive in the principal town of Rothesay in time for lunch. This busy little town boasts a castle, museums, shops and harbour. We later take a drive around the island before rejoining the ferry and the short drive back to Dunoon. FRIDAY You have a free day in Dunoon. SATURDAY We leave Dunoon by way of the ferry. We stop for an early lunch in the once industrial but now rejuvenated and cultural city of Glasgow. The remainder of our journey home is via main roads and motorways. We will arrive back in the local area in the early evening. 16 Terms and Conditions for Day Excursions Luxury Coach Charter Berkshire & North Hampshire Airports, Conferences Itineraries Planned UK & Continental Modern Fleet of Coaches with Air Conditioning, Toilets, TV/DVD Long & Short Term Contracts Private Charter Day Excursions 1. Smoking & Alcohol Smoking & the consumption of alcohol on board our vehicles are strictly forbidden. Alcohol illness within the vehicle will result in a minimum charge of 75, payable to the driver on the day. 2. Complaints Should you have any problem or complaint, it is essential that you notify the driver immediately. If you then remain of the opinion it has not been dealt with satisfactorily, you should notify our office in writing no less than 7 days after your scheduled return. 3. Conveyance of Animals No animals (other than assistance, hearing and guide dogs notified to Mortons in advance) may be carried on any vehicle without prior written agreement from the company. 4. Seating At the time of booking a row number will be allocated which is clearly stated on the ticket issued. Unless otherwise agreed with the company this must be the seat occupied on the date of travel. Seating positions are not guaranteed. 5. Operational Changes Advertised itineraries may vary owing to traffic conditions and drivers permitted working hours. 6. Conveyance of Mobility Scooters Due to operational reasons the conveyance of mobility scooters is not permitted. The carriage of collapsible wheelchairs is however acceptable if notified to the company prior to the date of travel. Ask at Shopmobility for information on hire of a travel scooter. 7. Booking & Payment Full payment for any trip must be made at the time of booking. Cash payments on the day are not accepted unless agreed with Mortons in advance. 8. Prices When Child prices are quoted these are applicable for children aged between 0 and 15 inclusive. 9. Luggage The carriage of luggage is entirely at owners risk. Mortons will not be responsible for any damage to, or loss of, personal property carried within the luggage or passenger area. 10. Coach Depot Parking Parking of passenger s vehicles travelling on day excursions can not be accommodated at the company s depot. 11. Cancellation by You Should you need to cancel a day trip booking after payment has been made, a refund of the COACH FARE ONLY will be given in the form of a credit note, which can be used against payment for a future excursion. Due to administration charges imposed on us by our booking agents this will be subject to a deduction of 20% of the coach fare. A credit note can only be issued if we are notified of a cancellation AT LEAST FOURTEEN DAYS prior to the date of travel. This also includes cancellation due to illness. 12. Cancellation by Us Due to operational reasons we reserve the right to cancel or amend any trip at short notice. In the event of cancellation by us a full refund or credit note will be given by the company. If a third party cancels an event or service we reserve the right to retain 5 from your booking fee for administration costs. We also reserve the right to refuse travel to any passenger if recommended to do so by a member of our staff or if the passenger is not in possession of a valid ticket.
