There were a total of 247 man days available in the year. Therefore the average day rate was 264 Some of the work undertaken by our staff may include an element which falls within the definition of public relations contained in the Scottish Government's guidance on compliance with the Public Services Reform (Scotland) Act The guidance reads "The statement of expenditure on public relations should state the total amount of expenditure during the relevant financial year on all external communications, including the cost of in-house and contracted staff and consultants." Examples of of "public relations" as defined within the Scottish Government's guidance includes (for example) marketing, PR campaigns, media relations, marketing research and evaluation, branding and design, promotional events, external events, conferences and exhibitions, corporate communications, sponsorship, publications and printing, digital communications, advertising and media planning. It is not possible to provide a specific work time allocation, but it is estimated that the office of Scotland's Commissioner for Children & Young People spent approximately 82 days full time equivalent on "public relations" across the year.
