There are tons more things to see and do Downtown, but this will get you started: CENTRAL OHIO FIRE MUSEUM Open Tues-Sat: 10a - 4p. Tour a restored 1908 fire station and expend some energy in the children s play area where kids can play with toy fire trucks, ride on a replica fire engine cab and slide down a pole just like firefighters do. 260 N. Fourth St COLUMBUS COMMONS Open year round. Hop into your own personal fairytale when you ride the carousel, each character hand carved by Ohio artists. The carousel is open from late April late September. 160 S. High St Columbus Metropolitan Library (Closed for renovations through August 2016) Open Mon-Thur: 9a - 9p, Fri: 9a - 6p, Sat 9a - 6p, Sun 1p - 5p. Experience an imaginative adventure during story time in this Carnegie Library that was voted number one in the nation. 96 S. Grant Ave COLUMBUS MUSEUM OF ART Open Tues-Sun: 10a-5:30p, Thurs: 10a-8:30p Cultivate, celebrate and champion your creativity as you and your children explore the Big Idea Gallery in the interactive Center for Creativity, designed for the young and young at heart. 480 E. Broad St CENTER OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY (COSI) Open Mon-Sun: 10a-5p Inspire your little scientists, dreamers and innovators of tomorrow at the Center of Science and Industry. 333 W. Broad St HUNTINGTON PARK baseball stadium April - September Batter up! Columbus Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, excite fans all summer long in the state-of-the-art stadium. 330 Huntington Park Ln OHIO STATEHOUSE Tours Mon-Fri: 7a-6p, Sat-Sun: 11a-5p Balance the budget or give a State of the State address at the People s House, where interactive exhibits reign supreme. 1 Capitol Square (tours) PEARL MARKET Mid-May through October (Tues and Fri: 10:30a - 2p) Stroll through this urban outdoor market where you will meet local farmers and artisans. Pearl and Lynn Alleys near Broad and High TOPIARY PARK Step into art and culture as you stroll through Topiary Park, fashioned after Georges Seurat s A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grand Jatte. 480 E. Town St SCIOTO MILE Skip or walk along the urban oasis of more than 145 acres of lush parkland, and don t forget to cool off in the award-winning fountain. 4 Downtown Columbus Columbus is home to a number of skyscrapers the Rhodes Tower, the Huntington Center, Riffe Center and LeVeque Tower, which was the tallest skyscraper in Columbus from Can you find the square Block O building? This is City Hall as seen from the air.

5 City Hall This is City Hall as seen from West Broad Street near the river. Built in 1928, this City Hall replaced the first one that burned down in 1921 (where the Ohio Theater is now).

7 Ohio Statehouse Did you know pigs once roamed the Statehouse grounds? Ever wonder why there is a cannon there? Well, the cannons on the Statehouse grounds are restored Civil War cannons, which are still used today for ceremonial and educational purposes.

8 Old, Old Post Office (Bricker & Eckler Building) This was Columbus second post office and federal building. Did you know there is a jail in here?

9 Scioto Mile & Supreme Court In the Ohio Supreme Court, judges listen to cases that could not be resolved at the local or county courts. It is the highest court in the state. Along the backside of the Supreme Court building you can walk along the Scioto Mile, 145 acres of lush parklands complete with fountains.

10 Columbus dispatch The Columbus Dispatch newspaper began printing in For many years it was one of three daily newspapers in Columbus. Today, the Columbus Dispatch is Columbus only daily newspaper.

11 Columbus metropolitan library What is your favorite book in the whole, wide world? If you enjoy adventure, horror stories or history books, then the Columbus Public Library is the place to go.

13 ohio Theatre The Ohio Theatre was built in 1928 as a movie theatre. In 1969, Columbus residents formed the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) in order to save the building from demolition.
