2 VOLUNTEERS & PARK PARTNERS Volunteering with Parks and Recreation can be a fun and rewarding experience for all ages. Each year, volunteers provide thousands of hours of service to parks, programs and community centers, and are essential to our success. Volunteers work in a variety of roles including providing tutoring, athletic coaching and mentoring to youth at community centers; planting flowers and helping with landscaping on park grounds; or assisting with special events such as the Ethnic Enrichment Festival, the Wilderness Run or Kansas City s Big Picnic. KC Parks has formal partnerships established with neighborhood, community, business and not-for-profit organizations for programs, events and projects. These partnerships allow our department to leverage resources and generate citywide interest and support for our system facilities, programs and events. We appreciate you! Volunteer & Park Partners Coordinator Terrence Williams, parks.volunteer@kcmo.org PHOTO RELEASE Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation frequently videotapes and photographs participants enjoying our programs, special events, parks and facilities.
