3 Parking rates and policies survey The purpose of the survey is to compile and compare parking rates and policies of cities in North America done annually since This survey is not prescriptive: these data do not take into account the variables of each city s unique context (e.g., density, demographics, and regional population) San Francisco is unique among these cities. METER OVERVIEW RATE & POLICY PRESENTATION SURVEY / 3

4 Data collected and summary of findings Meter rates for personal vehicles per hour at on-street meters High rates (or flat rates) range from $0.50 (Redwood City, CA) to $6.50 (Chicago, IL). Expired meter citations Highest citation amount is $72 (San Francisco, CA) followed by Vancouver, BC, Winnipeg, MB at $67 and New York City, NY at $65.
