8 Photo credit: Paul Graf Safety First Atlas' latest run of N scale GP38's will feature the Norfolk Southern First Responder's paint scheme. This locomotive was introduced by Norfolk Southern in 2015 as a first responder unit similar to their SD60E No The locomotive will be assigned to service on NS' Safety Train that travels the railroad providing training to emergency workers who might respond to railroad accidents. This model is being produced along with several other exciting new paint schemes on Atlas' prototypically accurate, fun-to-run GP 38 model. Atlas' high quality N Scale locomotive is modeled after Electro Motive Division's 2000 horsepower GP-38 diesel introduced in the late 1960s and built through the early 1970s and is still in service today throughout North America. The GP-38 is usually identified by its two radiator fans located on top of the long hood and two small exhaust stacks. PAGE 8

Please note that the Atlas Quantum Engineer will NOT operate an Atlas Gold Series locomotive equipped with a LokSound Select decoder on an analog (DC) layout However, the sound and lighting functions of the LokSound Select decoder in the Atlas Gold Series locomotive can be controlled by an easy-to-use basic DCC system. Also note that on a DC-powered layout, a DCC and sound equipped locomotive CANNOT be consisted with another locomotive that does not also have both DCC and sound.
