1 February 22, 2019 "We should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the purpose of profiting by dearly bought experience." - George Washington We just got back from the Madison show and would like to thank all of you who we conversed with and thank you for your hospitality. It was great to catch up with our customers since we always have our noses to the grindstone at the shop. Since we are getting more mature daily, we had some interesting conversations about what we have learned and what we would do differently. However, the more I pondered upon it the more I want to look forward and use my energies to accomplish more before it is too late. We should be focusing on the future as our first president stated. We can learn from the past; however, so we must plod ahead. I have been learning to spend less time watching the idiot box and focusing on using that time to do some things that I will profit from. Why complain about the amount of snow we are getting? Use the time (in between shoveling) to do something more enjoyable instead of listening to the doom and gloom prognosticators. Since doing so I have been feeling a sense of accomplishment, and I feel rejuvenated. We received the new Broadway Limited big-boys, what a monster! It might be the heaviest HO locomotive on the market that is not brass. We currently have the #4014 that is currently being rejuvenated by Union Pacific. We are hearing more and more from the manufactures that items that we all have been waiting for are on the "boat" and we should be seeing some of the long-awaited items soon. We also received some of the preproduction samples of the Scaletrains General Electric Dash 9 locomotives for you to check out and purchase. I believe as I type this we have a couple left! With our back-shop addition of Dennis late last year, we are starting to make progress in reducing our lead-times, albeit slowly, yet moving in the forward direction. Our clinics continue on Tuesdays at 6:30pm and on Saturdays at 1pm. As always, your input for the topics you would like to see would be greatly appreciated. Let us know what you want us to cover. Unfortunately, we had to cancel a clinic due to the weather, but hopefully you used the time to enjoy the hobby and forget about the adverse weather. Speaking of clinics, we must alter our upcoming clinic schedule, so be sure you double check the topics so you do not miss the ones you are interested in.please note that we will be having a series of clinics we are calling the Airbrush Painting Academy, which will be about five sessions. As some of you are aware, Dave, our fabulous painter, was giving demos at the Madison show and in talking with people he got more suggestions on how he can help people learn and have fun with airbrushes.
