This event will take place on the second Wednesday of the month in the evening at the Morrison Pavilion. For more information, please call The Waukegan Park District s Cultural Arts Division is celebrating the Japanese Star Festival Tanabata This festival takes place on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year, when according to legend, two stars, Altair and Vega, usually separated from each other by the Milky Way, are able to meet. Join us in the 8th annual celebration of Tanabata. Make a wish for clear weather as you attach your personal wish or haiku poem for the upcoming year to the wishing tree otherwise, Altair and Vega cannot meet. Registration is not required but you may call for further details or if you need an accommodation for this special event offered at the Bowen Heritage Circle.

The van will arrive at 10am or 6pm and will bring a project to your neighborhood. In the event of rain, the ARTS PARK will be cancelled. 9 American Independence Festivities Free Event Sunday, July 3, 2016 The American Independence Parade starts at 1pm and follows Sheridan Road north to Greenwood Avenue. American Independence Festival, which runs from 2:30-5 pm in Bowen Park, includes a petting zoo, dunk tank, pony rides, main stage, skate park expo, food vendors, arts and crafts and children's games.
