5 From The Chapter Director Dave & Sheila Shaffer On Saturday May 21 st there were eleven Chapter W members that rode to the Spring Wing Warm Up (SWWU) Rally in Rockville, IN at the Parke county fairgrounds. It was previously decided to attend just for the day and not the whole weekend. We also stated we were going rain or shine, motorcycle or car. Well, that Saturday morning proved not the best of weather. Although not raining at Kohl s parking lot, there was a heavy mist in the air. Frogg-Toggs were the order for sure. We left at 7:00 am and by the time we got to Franklin the mist had stopped and by the time we arrived at the Rally, just before 10:00, the sun was greeting us between the clouds. Most of us braved the heavy mist and rode our Wings except for two that shall remain nameless, choosing to ride in a four-wheeler as it was raining not misting where they lived. No matter, we had a good round trip ride, great fellowship and delicious food stopping at Squealer s BBQ in Mooresville on the way home! At last month s gathering Kim Hall told us about the Indiana District Walmart Challenge. Each chapter deciding to participate is in competition with the other chapters in Indiana to collect one cash register receipt from each of the 100+ Walmart stores in Indiana. Kim is spearheading this challenge for us and is keeping tabs on what receipts we have already gotten and for which we still need to get. I m not going to publish in this article the total receipts we have already so we don t let the other chapters know how many we have and how many we still need. We will gladly share this information at the gatherings. We ask for all chapter members to help out during your travels around the state to stop in and get a receipt showing the Walmart store s city and date. Any purchase will do, even just a pack of gum. The Challenge closes November 1 st. When you get a receipt please give/let Kim know. Looking forward to the overnight ride on June 3-5 to Bowling Green/Glasgow, KY area let by Keith Hall. Should be lots of fun checking out the two-lane roads and area sights.

6 From The Ride Educator Dart & Donna Liebrandt Fellow Chapter W members, We have been covering a lot of safety the last few months. So I have decided to come up with a little questionnaire to test our knowledge, see the attachment. So fill out the questionnaire and bring it to the June monthly gathering, we will discuss and go over the answers. 9 From The Secretary / Treasurer Gloria & Paul Dettmer On Wednesday May 4, 2016 Chapter W gathered at the Sirloin Stockade in Columbus, Indiana. Paul Dettmer opened the gathering with the Pledge to the Flag with 21 members and 2 quests present. It was reported that one of our newest couple was in a motorcycle wreck last week. They are reported to be recovering from cracked ribs, scrapes and bruises. We still have a couple in Florida they are expected back soon. Upcoming rides are Saturday May 21 to Spring Wing Warm-up in Rockville, IN This will be all day Chapter ride. Will met at Kohl's at 7 AM rain or shine. Dart Liebrandt, Ride Educator announced that the month of May is motorcycle awareness. The TRC course held last month at the Columbus Airport went off real well. Another ARC and TRC course will be held in June. There is some looking for having a course for trailers Next ride Wednesday May 11 going to Frisch's Big Boy in Greensburg. Wednesday May 25 riding to Flying Pink Pig in Seymour. Third Wednesday outing May 18 will be at Bob Evans in Columbus. Kim Hall announced a contest among Indiana Chapters to gather receipts from Indiana Wal-Mart's. The Chapter with the most receipts will have their $100 annual fee paid for. There are 106 Wal-Mart's in Indiana. Contest goes from April 16 to November 1, Overnight ride June 3 to 5 will be led by Keith and Kim Hall. Rooms are blocked you must call and reserve your rooms yourself till May 20. Vickie Lewis led us in a game. Secretary, Gloria Dettmer
