6 Dear Gymnastics friends Time goes quickly and within a short while you will be in the wonderful city of Pesaro for the 6th edition of Golden Age Gym Festival. We the TC (Technical Committee), GFA (Gymnastic for All), UEG (European union of Gymnastic) can assure you that the Italian LOC (Local Organisation Committee) is preparing great events full of surprises. We hope that in Pesaro you will experience the best gymnastics week of your life, performing, taking part in different Workshops and socialising with friends from all over Europe. Beside the Gymnastics try also to enjoy the music of Rossini, the nature, the history of Pesaro and the wine and gastronomy. We hope that you will leave Pesaro inspired, with a big smile and ready to come back to our next Golden Age Gym Festival in This beautiful Italian city will definitely move your heart. 7 Dear Gymnastics Friends, A contemporary way of life cannot be imagined without physical activities. The passion for agility and fitness unites people who can share their experience in what they have personally achieved. The European Union of Gymnastics embraces thousands of people under Gymnastics for All Events to further promote healthy way of life, gymnastics exercises, thus, spreading friendship among people of different ages. Mainly this concept causes crowds of people to gather and watch brilliant performances in the streets of beautiful European cities which offer living picture of pattern of healthy life. This time, our destination is European City of Sport announced in 2017 and nicknamed as City of the Bicycle Italian City of Pesaro which hosts the 6th edition of the Golden Age Gym Festival on September 16-21, I am confident that the Italian Gymnastics Federation and its Local Organizing Committee will create the most favorable conditions at all 5 venues to be involved during the workshops, shows and Gala based on their experience they had in 2012 when Italy hosted the Golden Age Gym Festival for the first time. Taking an opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to all the people making an effort for the success of this large-scale event from its participants and officials, to its working groups and volunteers. You are making the great job which brings health, friendship, fun, joy and thrill of life! I wish all participants successful performances in which they demonstrate will power, courage, and, especially, their love and passion for gymnastics and life. The beauty of this non-competitive gymnastics disciplines event contributes to the success and development of competitive ones as it involves the elements of all 7 UEG recognized competitive gymnastics disciplines. Farid Gayibov UEG President The countdown of one of the most expected events of the season has begun. The Golden Age Gym Festival, more than a sporting event, is a long-life elixir, reserved for those who consider age only as a personal data. Because sport, for its beneficial effects on the psycho-physical health of the person, is already, in itself, a source of eternal youth. But those who practice gymnastics express, in particular, their own overflowing vitality; that innate desire to fly beyond the dimensions of time and space. Pesaro, therefore, is going to offer the eternal children of the twentieth century the scene where to show off the beauty of the gymnastic gesture, in an atmosphere of joy and fun, between shades of gray and the colors of the rainbow. So I wish all the participants to enjoy the UEG event, organized by FGI and Esatour Sport Events by Marco Cadeddu, as a Rossini symphony, where the orchestra instruments gradually enter the score, growing until the final explosion. 10 GAGF 2018 Info General info From 16 to 21 September 2018 Pesaro (Italy) will host the most important UEG Festival for gymnasts over 50 years old: Golden Age Gym Festival! The UEG Golden Age Gym Festival is not only a week of recreation but offers also the possibility to all participants to improve their abilities and to discover new activities and sports. This Gym Festival and joie de vivre for the over 50 generation has the purpose to inform the gymnasts from the 50 UEG National Federation about gymnastics benefits and let them experience the several gym related activities. The importance of the 2018 UEG Golden Age Gym Festival is supported by the following facts: Pesaro offers a unique setting on the seaside where everything is close by, Esatour Sport Events has already organized many successful sport events. Because this is the most important Gymnastic for All event we will make sure to leave you with the best possible memories. GAGF History After the test edition in 2005 and the 1st Golden Age Gym Festival 2008 in Maspalomas, Canaries (ESP), the 2nd GAGF was hosted by Portimao (POR) followed by 3rd GAGF in Montecatini (ITA) and 4th GAGF in Toulouse (FRA). The 5th edition was in Portoroz (SLO) and now it s Italy again with the 6th edition! Flash mob LOC prepared a choreography for Flash Mob of GAGF 2018 and we will all dance it toghether on Golden Age Gym Festival Flash mob is choreographed on a song named Magic Destination of Sammy Love & Vicky Ace Feat. 12 GAGF 2018 City: Pesaro The city of Pesaro The 6th Golden Age Gym Festival will take place in the warm setting of the Adriatic Sea in Pesaro from 16 to 21 September Esatour Sport Events is honored to welcome you to our beautiful country. The whole GAGF area is located in a Mediterranean setting and all GAGF venues are within easy reach. Pesaro is an Italian town of 94,512 inhabitants, capital with Urbino of Pesaro and Urbino province in the Marche region. It is the 2nd largest in the Marche region, after Ancona, and 51st in Italy. Overlooking the sea and crossed by the river Foglia, Pesaro is a seaside resort and industrial center located between two coastal hills: San Bartolo and Ardizio; its historical center is rich in monuments, especially dating back to the Renaissance period. The city has an urban area that extends beyond the municipal boundaries and encompasses several other municipalities such as Montelabbate, Vallefoglia and Mombaroccio. It is known by the nickname of City of the Bicycle, owing to its extensive network of cycle paths connecting its territory (Pesaro is the first city in Italy for number of urban trips by bike, together with Bolzano); and by that of City of Music, because this city gave birth to the famous composer Gioachino Rossini. Pesaro is currently an official candidate for Italy to UNESCO Creative City, having as motivation of its commitment the nomination in the development, promotion and review of Rossini s music. In 2017 Pesaro received the title of European City of Sport together with the city of Aosta, Cagliari and Vicenza. In Pesaro important cultural events take place yearly, such as the Rossini Opera Festival and the International Festival of Nuovo Cinema. 30 Workshops Most of the workshop will take place at GAGF Village in the heart of the festival under the shade of the trees and next to the sea. From Monday to Thursday workshops will take place in the morning, from 9:30 until 10:30 and from 11:00 until 12:00. Each participant will choose 4 to 6 workshops in the proposed list. Among those you will select, we guarantee at least 2 of them the 2 morning workshops will take place on the same venue. Participants will have 30 minutes between each workshop. At the workshop venues there will be guides and signs indicating where to go and where you can find your workshop. Almost all workshops will be concentrated at Rocca Costanza, old town and beach area. Also crew members will be present at every site in case participants might need help. Gymnasts must arrive in suitable outfit for practicing the workshops, sport shoes for the indoor and outdoor activities and swimwear for water activities. Some workshops will have limited number of places available. In such cases first-come, first-served principle will apply. Schedule and the listing of partecipants for every workshop will be available on official GAGF website and at GAGF info center. It s extremely important for each national federation to register their groups in order to secure the best slot at the workshop they would like to be part in. 32 City Performances Rocca Costanza Stage (Venue 1a) Built by Costanzo Sforza between 1474 and 1483, Rocca Costanza is the most important fortification in the city. stage size: 14x10 carpet colour: beige open on 1 side In case of rain: Old Palestra Carducci (Venue 6b) Palla di Pomodoro Stage (Venue 2a) It was built in 1998 by the famous contemporary sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro on a polyester model that came to Pesaro in It was realized for Expo 1967 in Montreal. Only 3 models existing in the world: Pesaro, Rome and New York. stage size: 20x24 carpet colour: black open on 4 sides In case of rain: Palestra Don Guadiano (Venue 8) Piazza del Popolo Stage (Venue 3a) The square is limited on its four sides by the Post Office and three other palaces: Ducale, Baviera and Comunale (Municipal). The fountain at the centre is a 60 s reconstruction of the 17th century fountain destroyed in stage size: 20x14 carpet colour: black open on 1 side In case of rain: same location City performances will take place in the three above picturesque squares. Groups should be composed of a minimum of 6 active performers; each group has the opportunity to perform twice during the week. The group should be ready to perform 15 minutes before their scheduled time. The maximum time for each performance is 6 minutes (including preparation of the venue and marching in and out). Performances shorter than 5 minutes are warmly recommended! All national federations are requested to upload the music track of each group on the website logging in with their credentials, in mp3 format, 6 minutes max, from 16 July to 1 September The Organizing Committe will check the music beforeand in accordance with UEG instructions files with too long music will be rejected. The group should be ready to perform 15 minutes before their scheduled time. There will be changing rooms available at all sites. Performers should take care about props on their own. If you should require additional help from the LOC, please provide a written request as soon as possible. 32 Golden Age Gym Festival

33 Parade GAGF 2018 Parade will start at 16:15 from Palla di Pomodoro (Venue 2a). All participants should gather at the starting point of parade at least at 15:45. Delegations will be sorted in French alphabetical order. Each delegation has to choose one flag bearer that will walk together with volunteer who will be holding a sign with the name of the country, at the beginning of delegation. Every participant must bring from home a small flag (preferably 20cmx14cm) to be waved during the parade along the route. Parade will last 10 minutes from Palla di Pomodoro (Venue 2a) to Piazza del Popolo (Venue 3a), where the Opening ceremony will take place. All delegations will follow the volunteers with the sign of the nation and will be accommodated to their reserved seats. The Opening ceremony will start when the last group will be seated. In case of rain, please bring an umbrella with you. Pesaro

34 VENUE 3a PIAZZA DEL POPOLO STAGE OPENING CEREMONY The opening ceremony will take place on 16 September at Piazza del Popolo (Venue 3a) where the Parade ends. It will be about one hour long show, starting at 17:00. The title of the opening ceremony will be "MOVE YOUR ITALIAN HEART". GALA You will enjoy glorious Gala event at Piazza del Popolo (Venue 3a) on 20th September, from to pm. The theme of the Gala will be #moveyourheart. All communication concerning the Gala will be done directly with the Gala choreographer, who will be in contact with the Gala responsible person from each delegation. The performances at Gala are reserved for Nations that participate at the event with at least 3 groups. Each performance is limited to 3 minutes, including marching in and out. It s not allowed to divide the choreography in two parts. The UEG Technical Committee of Gymnastics for All can invite further groups from National Federations with exciting performance, like as a good example of how to work with senior gymnasts. For this possibility, the group selected must prepare a presentation shorter than 3 minutes. There will be reserved seats for the participating gymnasts in Piazza del Popolo, so they will be able to enjoy the Gala Show. CLOSING CEREMONY Final event of the festival will take place in Piazza del Popolo (Venue 3a) on Friday 21st September from to pm. To take part in the Closing Ceremony, gymnasts can enrol during the week, directly with the workshops instructors or at the info point in the Village within Wednesday 19. They must choose one of the workshops in which they have participated during the week among those proposed. After the Closing ceremony, all participants are invited to join us at the Farewell party. 34 Golden Age Gym Festival

35 Forum & Special Workshop Effectifit Forum The Forum will take place on Wednesday 19 September at 9:30-12:00 at Hotel Vittoria (Venue 14). Effectifit is an innovative model that traces a path to optimize and personalize the training in the gym, adapting it to everyone's characteristics; all in an easy, fast and FUNNY way. A working method for working in a group but at the same time having relationships individually and giving the possibility to increase the interest, the results and the health of the practitioners. The Forum expected a theoretical part and a pratical part. It s organized for team leaders, coaches, assistant coaches and heads of delegations. As a Golden Age participant, you are also welcome, if you feel you gain knowledge from the topics. The official language will be English. The Forum will be led by Paolo Evangelista. Paolo is an innovator in the wellness world and opinion leader of Italian fitness in the world. Famous trainer, presenter and lecturer, has a background in both part of the human well-being the physical and the psychological sphere. He started to teach in 1996 in (SUISM ex ISEF) Sports University of Turin. He is a Sports Psychologist too. In 1995 he was the first Italian requested as a teacher at the IDEA, the most prestigious USA convention in the world. Testimonial of several brands, collaborator of many companies, Paolo is always looking for new themes concerning life quality. Special Workshop for Choreography Special Workshop for Choreography will take place on Piazza Fava (Venue 5). The main goal for this workshop is to work with your team, practice your team routine, get inspired and receive feedback-everything to improve your performance. This is an opportunity to work with another choreographer and get some ideas from her. This workshop is for the whole group and the coach must bring the routine music with them. Workshop for Choreography will be led by Catia Rosi, rhytmic federal trainer from 1987, national s Junior Team trainer from 1989 to 1991, trainer during European Championship in Tenerife 1989 and Lisbon From 2010 to 2017 she was the head trainer of a Gymnmaestrada group taking part in many events like Eurogym, World Gymnaestrada and World Gym for Life Challenge. From 2016 she cooperate, with staff of Italian Gymnastics for All. In case of rain: Teatro Sperimentale (Venue 10). Morning Gym We will start every day from 8.30 to 9.00 with a morning exercise on a beautiful location in Palla di Pomodoro Beach (Venue 2e). There is no better way to start a day than with a good exercise on a fresh air at the beach. Presentation of GAGF 2020 On Wednesday 19th September from do not miss the presentation of GAGF 2020 in Greece at Rocca Costanza Stage (Venue 1a). 35 Golden Age Gym Festival

36 GAGF Village will be located at Rocca Costanza. It is the ideal place to sip a cup of coffee on a sunny day in Pesaro and gather all information about the festival. Also many of the workshops will take place in GAGF Village. 40 Important Information Accreditations Accreditation center will be a part of Info Center at GAGF Village (Venue 1a). LOC will proceed to accreditation depending on the time of delegation arrival to Pesaro. Only HOD can pick up accreditations for the whole delegation. HOD will receive accreditation only if delegation paid all the costs and sent declaration of insurance to the LOC. Payments All payments by the National Federation have to be done before the arrival of the delegation to Pesaro. In case that National Federation did not cover all the costs, participants will not be able to check in at the hotel or receive the GAGF accreditation and will not be able to attend GAGF. Insurance All participants of GAGF 2018 must have an adequate insurance in case of illness and accidents. The insurance must cover medical costs during the stay at the site of the event and transportation costs back to the home of the person injured or fallen ill. LOC prepared a Declaration that has to be signed by National Federation with which they declare that all members of delegation are insured. In case that LOC don t receive signed Declaration of insurance by National Federation, participants will not receive GAGF accreditation and will not be able to attend GAGF. In case that participant gets injured or gets ill at GAGF and LOC discovers that despite the signed Declaration participant has no insurance, participant has to cover all medical costs on her/his own. Photo & Video disclaimer LOC reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at GAGF 2018, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. LOC may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used or contracted by LOC including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc. A person attending GAGF 2018 who does not wish to have their image recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the photographer and by notifying the LOC by writing his/her intentions and include a photograph to info@goldenage2018.com.
