2 DETAILED ITINERARY: HIGHLIGHTS: When in Rome, do as the Romans do! Stroll among the ruins of Pompeii and Rome. Browse the Vatican Museums and its famed Sistine Chapel. Enjoy the beautiful town of Minori with daily excursions to explore the Amalfi Coast. DAY 1 NAPLES MINORI Arrival at Naples Airport, where you will be met by your tour escort and transferred by private bus to Minori. This village is tucked into the delightful Amalfi Coast, a miracle of harmony and natural beauty. You ll fall in love with its cozy houses from the sea to the hillside, and its terraced lemon groves. Minori is just down the coast from Amalfi which was once a powerful Maritime Republic and some of today s Maritime Laws are attributed to this small town. Meals: Dinner DAY 2 MINORI RAVELLO POSITANO MINORI After breakfast, your guide will take you on a breathtaking drive along the Amalfi coast, one of the most beautiful roads in the world. Each winding turn reveals a dazzling view of the coastline and sea. White villas seem to hang from the heavens. Besides Amalfi, you will see a number of the picturesque towns that dot the Amalfi coast, such as Positano and Furore. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Ravello, where we ll visit Villa Rufolo, which inspired Richard Wagner to create one of his most famous works. Return to Amalfi and take a tour to discover more about limoncello - the famous liqueur that dates back to the 1400 s. Visit a lemon grove, learn how to make it, and taste a glass of this delicate liqueur. Next, enjoy a meal featuring Amalfi lemons in every course! Overnight in Amalfi. 3 DAY 3 MINORI POMPEII CASERTA MINORI After breakfast depart for Pompeii. Visit one of the most important and interesting archaeological museums in the world. This famous ancient city was buried by the ashes of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Lunch in local restaurant. Afterwards, depart for Caserta. With our local guide, we ll visit the beautiful Reggia Vanvitelliana, The Versailles of Campania, where we will view magnificently decorated apartments and spend some time in the majestic gardens. Return to Minori. Overnight at the Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner DAY 4 MINORI CAPRI MINORI After breakfast transfer to the pier and depart by hydrofoil to Capri. Capri has a million charming secrets to discover. It s described in many ways: The Blue Island, The Sleeping Beauty, or better The Island of Love. Due to its beauty, the Roman Emperor Tiberius lived on this island for 10 years. You will tour with a local guide and visit the wonderful Marina Piccola; Piazza Umberto I, a small, closed off square resembling a courtyard; and the gardens of Augusto built on the ruins of ancient Roman structures. 4 DAY 5 MINORI SORRENTO MINORI Today you will have a nice morning in Sorrento. Few resorts in the world match its special charm. The resort on the bay of Naples boasts an exquisite climate, beautiful beaches, trendy shops and boutiques, museums, and galleries. We will visit one of the local wine cellars for a short tour and a tasting of various wines with some delicious bruschetta, salami, cheese, olives, and tarallucci. We will tour one of the most famous family run factories of Sorrento which produces the traditional Baba dessert a rum cake that is a Neapolitan classic. In the afternoon we ll visit the Amalfi Dome, devoted to the Apostle St. Andrew, whose relics are in the church. The 19th-century façade mosaics cover a structure rich in Byzantine and Islamic designs while the interior, strongly re-handled in the 17th and 18th centuries, is Baroque. The cloister is a nice construction in the Arabian style. Dinner at hotel. Presentation of Neopolitan Baba deserts with tasting. Meals: Breakfast, & Dinner DAY 6 MINORI PAESTUM MINORI After breakfast transfer to Paestum. The main draw of Paestum are the fully intact temples. The zone of the Magna Grecia, greater Greece, starts here. Paestum started out as a Greek settlement named Poseidonia. The Romans changed it to Paestum. The site features three major temples in Doric style, dating from the first half of the 6th century BC., dedicated to Hera and Athena. Lunch in local restaurant. Return to Minori. Gala dinner with Neapolitan music. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 7 MINORI ROME After breakfast, check out of hotel and transfer to the hotel in Rome. The remainder of day is at your leisure. 5 DAY 8 ROME Today is a full day of leisure to explore the Eternal City or join optional tours Enjoy dinner at hotel where we ll stay overnight. Meals: Breakfast DAY 9 ROME Wake up in the Eternal City, a great center of Western Civilization. It s also the spiritual capital for Catholics around the world. This morning we go to Vatican City to visit the Vatican Museums hundreds of galleries. See aweinspiring relics and works of art donated throughout centuries as tributes of faith. We ll cover The Tapestry Gallery, The Raphael Rooms, and the iconic Sistine Chapel - Michelangelo s Masterpiece as well as the restored mural of the Last Judgment. Later, enter St. Peter s Basilica, built on the site where St. Peter was martyred. Take in the Pieta and Bernini s amazing bronze canopy. We will also visit the grave of Pope John Paul II located in the Vatican. Before dinner, we ll have some leisure time to explore, shop, or just to sit in one of the outside cafes and people watch. Tonight will be your special farewell dinner. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner DAY 10 DEPART ROME After breakfast, transfer to Rome airport. Meals: Breakfast
