Prices may vary from alternative gateway airports. Program Terms and Conditions All passengers are responsible for assuring they have the proper (legal) documents required for travel. A valid US Passport is required. The passport must be valid for six months beyond your travel date. This is an Escorted Tour. A signed and completed registration form must accompany the initial deposit. All prices quoted are per person based on double occupancy. Airfare Clients may also make their own flight reservations. Airfare once purchased is non-refundable. Cancellation Policy All request for cancellation must be made in writing to Sweetwine Travel Services. Initial deposits are non-refundable. For cancellations, the following per person cancellation fees apply business days prior to departure 50% of total price business days prior to departure 75% of total price 29-1 business days prior to departure 100% of total price If a guest cancels within 90 days to departure resulting in a single supplement charge, the Guest, who is cancelling will be responsible for that charge. Code of Conduct For all tours we aim to foster an environment of respect that allows all our guests to enjoy their group vacation. Guests who are disruptive, endanger the group or the travel experience, or break local laws may be removed from the program with no refund due and at their own expense. Sweetwine Travel Services reserves the right to accept or reject any program guest. Unused Services No refund will be made for any service included in the Tour Price that is not utilized by the guest and in the event that the guest does not utilize any part of the scheduled itinerary for any reason whatsoever, such guest shall be responsible at own additional cost for all and any substitute arrangements. Name Changes No name changes can be made. In order to change participants, your original reservation must be cancelled and a new reservation made reflecting the correct configuration of guests. Any non-refundable deposits paid on the original account will not apply to the new booking. The new booking made will be subject to normal non-refundable deposit requirements. All tour prices are based on tariffs, taxes, and rates of exchange, in effect, at the time of printing. Day 2: Tuesday Arrive in Venice ENCHANTING ITALY WITH AMALFI TOUR TRAVEL ITINERARY Arrive in glorious Venice with its astonishing treasures; transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure in this city built on over a hundred small islands and connected by 400 bridges; Venice is truly an artistic masterpiece. This evening, enjoy an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager, followed by a Welcome Dinner. Day 3: Wednesday Boat Ride to Murano, Tour of Venice The discovery of Venice begins with a boat ride to the Island of Murano, known for its artistic and colorful Murano glassware. While here, enjoy a visit to one of the factories to witness the art of glass blowing. Afterwards, on to St. Mark s Square where you begin the guided walking tour of this romantic city. View the Golden Basilica of San Marco, built over several centuries in a fusion of Byzantine, Roman, and Venetian architecture. See the Bridge of Sighs, created at the beginning of the 17th century to serve as a link between the prisons and the inquisition rooms of Doge s Palace. Then, continue to visit the pink marble Doge s Palace, official residence of the Venetian ruler; its facade is highlighted by a massive late-gothic gate, known as the Porta della Carta. Visit a typical Tuscan farm in the countryside for a wine tasting coupled with delectable local specialties. On to Pisa, to view the famous Piazza dei Miracoli with its Leaning Tower, among the most instantly recognizable structures on earth. The monuments on the extraordinary Piazza create a unique architectural blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. Then, travel to the lively Renaissance city of Florence, with its priceless art and architecture, for overnight. Overnight: Florence Day 5: Friday Tour of Florence Today s tour of Florence begins with a visit to the Accademia of Fine Arts, where Michelangelo s David is housed; stand in awe of this glorious work of art. Walk to the Duomo, celebrated for its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi, and view the Baptistery s renowed Gates of Paradise by Ghiberti. Assisi is best known as the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of Italy. Its main attraction is the 13th century Basilica di San Francesco, one of the artistic highlights of medieval Europe which contains the sacred relics of St. Francis and Giotto s astonishing frescoes. The town of Assisi has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its significant art and architecture. Afterwards, continue to Rome, the astonishing city built on seven hills. Overnight: Rome Day 7: Sunday Tour Ancient Rome The historic tour of ancient Rome begins at the Roman Forum, the central area of the city from which ancient Rome developed. On to the mighty Colosseum, the largest amphitheater built in the Roman Empire that seated over 50,000, where gladiatorial contests and public events were attended by the rich, the poor and by the Emperor himself. Stop at a local café for lunch and just people-watch, or savor a cappuccino, indulge in a delectable gelato, or try an authentic Italian pizza. Overnight: Rome Day 8: Monday Vatican Museum & Michelangelo s Sistine Chapel Today visit the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo s masterpiece, the Sistine Chapel. Stroll through one of the most important art collections of the world. Admire the Gallery of Tapestries and the Geographical Maps before arriving at the Sistine Chapel, with its great frescoes by Michelangelo. Continue to St. Peter s Square, passing Bernini s famous colonnade to view St. Peter s Basilica*, built on the burial site of Saint Peter, with the most famous Michelangelo s Pieta. The tragic fossils of people attempting to escape with their children and dogs are still visible, along with the preserved ruins of the Temples of Apollo and Jupiter, and the Forum. Overnight: Castellammare, Sorrento Coast Day 10: Wednesday Full Day in Sorrento A day at leisure in picturesque Sorrento, strikingly beautiful with its seaside setting and soaring cliffs plunging into the sea. As you stroll along the coastal road and through the charming town, you ll understand why this town has been loved by poets and artists. Don t miss the optional full day tour to the enchanting and picturesque Isle of Capri by boat it will be a highlight! Nestled into mountains which rise thousands of feet above the sea, you ll see enchanting villages, cliffs terraced with lemon groves, whitewashed villas and sparkling turquoise seas. Drive by Positano and stop in Amalfi, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to enjoy time at leisure in town. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
